TIP & TRICK: You can by pass all of this and NEVER have to do it again by putting in a "Adams Drive Shaft" on the front and rear axle. On todays date, cost me $1179.00 for both the front and rear and that includes shipping and tax to my house. Don't have to worry about boots busting, bearing grease slinging out or doing this year after year. I replaced my boots last year with OEM part and last week, both boots busted AGAIN. This is my wife's jeep, it's a street queen, never sees mud. I do not work for Adams, just did some research and investigated. Call them, they speak english and answer the phone !! CV Joint for my jeep, front and rear was $500 w/shipping. Do that two times and you could have bought the front and rear drive shaft from Adams. You do the math.
Great Video for beginners who want to save labor costs and most of all entertaining.

good work, only thing i'd suggest is to pack both sides of the cv bearing unit with grease, instead of just the one side

What are the symptoms of these things failing? Not just that brand but in general?
My 07 wrangler started about a month ago with a whirring bearing noise. I don't know where it's coming from but it sounds like its behind me and directly under me.
A month goes by then the whirring turned to like a rubber / metal whirring sound, a day later its knocking like crazy.. I haven't really driven it since but I gotta drive it tomorrow to the mech about 7 km.. Is this thing gonna hold up?
I did order that rzeppa piece cause the jeep is lifted 2.5 maybe 3 inches I am not sure exactly.
The jeep was winter stored for 10-12 years and only summer driven so when I bought it last Feb 2023, what I saw was something that looked like it just rolled off the assembly line. Turns out, everything was original on it except the rims/tires/lift and some fancy rear bumper.. Now everything is starting to fail lol Just did all the rear brakes + calipers, front upper and lower ball joints, and the mech says to me, "You know what jeep stands for eh"... Just empty pockets lol.. or something along those lines.. Fucking things turning into my own personal money pit.

Good Video. You mentioned you replaced this before and it lasted you about 100k...I wonder if the Teraflex High angle Replacement CV/Rzeppa joint would last longer? Especially for the $150 price tag! My CV boot is now starting to fail and throw a bit of grease with a front drive shaft clicking noise below 20 mph.

Did you have clanking/popping noises in the front drive shaft when moving before you replaced the cv joint?

    Hello Donny,
Question, was it pretty hard to put the CV driveshaft back in by yourself?
As far as holding it up and screwing it in and the gap where CV driveshaft was taken out from.

Hey everyone I have a question: This is my first jeep wrangler with CV driveshafts. I recently started hearing a high pitched metallic rattling sound roughly coming from the rear of the driveline. It happens mostly when accelerating and putting the driveline under stress. I tried putting it in 4x4 to see if i could hear a difference from the transfer case but this did not seem to be the culprit. Is this rattling sound from my Rzzepa joints? I don't want to spend the time and money replacing my joints if thats not the issue. Thank you!!!!

This was a pretty great video. Watched it twice and managed to change my CV blown boot and everything really easily. The hardest part was putting that MFer back in. I wanted to change my U joint at the front at the same time but could NOT get that guy out with the ball joint press. It barely budged with a hammer I could find any retaining clips on it either 🤦‍♀️. So I had to stick it back in there until I could have more time

@sneakypete187 yeah found out the hard way. Had to get it torched out (it was bad and needed replacing) and changed it with a different one. Turns out no one really knows which one to replace that front one with so 🤷‍♀️ just drove around with the front drive shaft out

I'm not sure if the OEM jeep shafts are this way, but I know a lot of older OEM u-joints had to be heated to melt an internal plastic retainer to get the caps loose.
