    I suspect it's a combination of factors.
    1. Definitely being influenced by the Holocrons.
    2. Genuinely thinking they could be useful against any resurgent Sith.
And 3. Fear of the dark power contained within escaping before they could properly deal with it.

Most likely it was to learn Sith secrets, methods and history. As ignorance often leads to defeat. However, many of the sith holocron gate keepers were masters as teaching just the right courses along a path where the student would gain more and more knowledge and therefore more and more power.
Even Luke Skywalker acknowledged the need to learn Sith methods; allowing Tionne Solusar to study one at his academy on Yavin 4. However, only while being supervised by 4 Jedi along with medical personnel using scanners to monitor her for any physical or psychological changes.
Also keep in mind, not all Sith holocrons are dangerous. Jedi Odan-Urr kept the Sith holocron he found at the end of the Great Hyerspace War in the library on Osus for more than 1000 years. Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Baas also studied this holocron as well; neither suffered from adverse effects.
Of note however, is Jedi Exar Kun killed Odan-Urr to obtain this holocron in order to gain Sith knowledge.

They contain information, teachings, training and recording, sometimes histories. Even virtual intelligence avatars in the form of important Jedi or Sith or those that created it, that will challenge whoever tries to access it to see if they worthy of the information locked inside.

Bane destroyed Revan’s holocron after he’d already “used” it and it no longer contained the force, which may have been why he was able to crush it.

Please make as many videos as you can on everything there is in Star Wars universe. In particular, make a holocron on absolutely everything about the jedi and another holocron about the sith and everything related! Pretty, please!

Why couldn’t they destroy the holocrons and just transcribe the info into books and stuff that aren’t corrupting?

I agree could be influenced by the holocrons. I think another factor is some of the knowledge is neither good or bad. Not everything the Jedi knew or practiced was good or bad, and some things simply just changed as what was acceptable and what was not, whether force abilities or light saber techniques. So the same could be said for the Sith, some knowledge would not be evil it would just be knowledge... the only problem is accessing that knowledge and not having the Sith holocron influence you would be a problem. Because you could easily be influenced to use more and more of that knowledge that gradually became more evil.

Look at all of the Jedi who betrayed the order.
Dooku, Vader.....just how secret could you keep the location of the holocrons from someone who was as high of a rank and the padawan of Yoda as Dooku?
Dooku was able to sneak into the archives and erase a planet. If he could do that and he knew the Jedi were hiding holocrons away somewhere he likely could have found out where.

“I know there are things about the Force that they are *not* telling me.”
    -Anakin Skywalker
If only they had trusted him more, he may not have betrayed them for Sidious’ knowledge if he could sift the holocrons himself.
What are Luke’s thoughts on Holocrons? Does he mention them in the book of the Sith?

    • @decepticonxhunter4850
      @decepticonxhunter4850 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Anakin lacked the emotional maturity and the discipline to learn such things without being corrupted. All Palpatine had to do was tell him a story, and he considered becoming a Sith. And besides, he didn't really learn much of anything from Sidious anyway. You're forgetting the fact that Sidious only dangled that carrot in front of Anakin to turn him into a lifelong henchman.

I think holocrons hypnotized Jedi. They prevented them from destroying them. Also, they had knowledge, teachings, they were Master. Easy to access. This is it. I remember Atris from KOTOR. She was indeed corrupted. She surrounded herself with those who can't feel the Force. And we know why. Kreia caledl her out numerous times . We will be careful of all holocrons. May the Force be with you too

I realized how Einstein succeeded. He succeeded, because he read the Bible. By the way, I plan to study all other religions.
    POLYTHEISM AND OMNISM!!!
Polytheism means to believe in many Gods and Goddesses. Omnism is the belief in all religions and knowing that no religion is the absolute truth, but every religion contains truth.
Monotheism means to believe in only one God. Deism is the belief that there is a God, without submitting to a particular religion. I recommend that you start with Christianity. Read to be saved, to learn to be good and to become more and more successful!
