After he betrayed my trust, I broke him down into a miserable nothing and gave him the fort he always wanted with other orcs that betrayed me on the way. Now it’s a fort of broken down orcs who’ll never be able to think twice about betraying me. Then I left the fort as a message for the others who thought to betray me while I conquered the other forts.

Why slip one of your non-spy followers into being a spy when you can simply recruit warchief bodyguards? They’re already spies by default when you recruit them. Seriously. 9 or 10 of my followers in Gorgoroth are spies. I didn’t even use the whole infiltration thing either.

I re-recruited Bruz and made him an overlord,. That way, any remnants of his mind will be at war with his new anti-fort persona. Every second on his throne he will be crying and wanting to leave, but he will never leave. He shall suffer in his own personal hell, a warning to all who would stand against me.
I did something similar except I accidentally killed him. Then he survived. And now he's a level one dude with metal on his face crying about the fort..... Awesome game
Yeah, you actually have to try really hard to recruit him at lvl 1, because it's so easy to kill him. I accidentally set him on fire and he died before I could dominate him. Unfortunately never came back for me

When Bruz betrayed me, I spent the two or three hours continually tracking him down and shaming him, I think I finally put him out of his misery eventually
I did the same to every orc or olog that dared to betray me. Funnily enough, after a few of them got mentally broken and ultimately killed, I did not see another traitorous orc again for the rest of the playthrough. Guess my message was heard and seen.

One of my top 3 moments in Shadow of War was this sentence. The fact that there was no reply (except ratbag of course) made this statement more powerful. Since talion agreed without saying anything, it's one of those moments that defines Celibrimbor, even though we had a excuse to do it, and were technically betrayed, it was still a powerful moment.
Why almost? He taught you how to capture forts,he was such a charismatic guy. He was not smart enough to understand which lord is stronger. He is an orc you cant blame him too much for stupidity.

Such a good game, even with the initial controversy. It's a shame they took a microtransaction route, a lot of people missed out because they didnt want to support that.

But when he did, it still shocked me kinda cause of the way he did it. Shammed him till level 1 multiple times, then recruited him to boost him then shammed him a couple dozen more then i killed him.

Depending on the orc, they have higher chances to betray you if you die often, if you ignore their missions like survival tests, if you send them on missions but don't go to those missions, if you demote them etc. I've been playing like 70 hours this playthrough and haven't been betrayed a single time yet, since I send all the weak orcs I recruit to sacrifice to get a bit closer to a goal of mine, and the powerful orcs I use to their full extent, while helping them so they don't feel abandoned and like slaves just being sent to merk another guy.

And the only way i got betrayed outside of the story was attacking orcs Blood Brothers Far Before i aquired the shame ability, just because i attack the chart and convert everyone in an area as best as possible before i do any main missions in that area. After doing a good Few story missions getting betrayed is rare Yes, but again Uruks Nature to betray each other or the ranger is common in the World of the games.

ya. I had one olog betray me...so decided to try to shame him to 1...but then he went nuts super leveled up...but he was just so pethetically broken that I recaptured him and he kinda became a mascot of the stream. Ill never forget his motivational speeches "woah woh woh. woah woh woah....woah"
I shamed him down to level one, recruited him, raised him back up to level 40 (or whatever level I was at the time) and kept leveling him up as I leveled, once we both hit level 80, I made him Overlord, I then intentionally lost the fort, found Bruz, shunned him, and shamed him back down to level one, before letting another of my Orcs kill him.
I love Brûz he was my favourite when I saw him the first time, so after the final mission I go with him and end his suffering, I felt sad even in this days
I wish there was an alternate ending where Celebrimbor doesn’t abandon you and realizes he’s becoming worse than Sauron. Then you can go dominating orcs with the power of the your friendship and mental torture.
I wish we had been given a choice here. Shame Brûz, you get the new shaming perk and you can no longer be betrayed randomly (does not apply to Blood Brother revenge cheating death or attacking your own uruks) Or, kill him, get a different perk for example calling Ratbag and Ranger instead of a body guard but you can still get betrayed. Would have made this more interesting.

Some orcs don't betray you because you help them, a favourite of mine (who I could not put in the garrison thanks to a bug, so he's lost forever) died on the Brûz assault but came back, and I though he was going to betray me but he didn't. He even gave me 2 gifts

Being betrayed makes the game fun, It comes out of nowhere and is surprising. I remember I was late into the game (finished the game, level 69) and I was fighting some guy so I called my bodyguard and he betrayed me, it was fun..... .....cutting off there heads.
I always liked recruiting him again, and then making him the overlord of a fort, always felt like a sick torture since he now wanted nothing to do with the fort and yet ended up in charge of it anyways
I shamed him down to level one and then kept him around as an enemy for the rest of the game. Any time he'd be involved in a nemesis mission, I'd interfere and kill the other captain then run away. Any time he'd gain a level I'd shame him back to 1. Finally, when I started act 3 I recruited him, had him killed in the fight pits, resurrected him, then made him overlord
I shamed bruz until he became a maniac, then shamed him back down to level one, recruited him, then made him fight my strongest orc, a defender bezerker that hasnt ever lost a pit fight after about 60 matches, had bruz get absolutely slaughtered. Just to revive him as an undead, permanently level one, and make him overlord of a castle with no warchiefs to protect him
There was one dude that was a trusted captain I could never recruit him so I shamed him from 27 to 16 and accidentally killed him and they immediately replaced him I actually felt bad for him
I had a betrayal that just happened to me. It was three of my strongest uruks overall. One ended up dead by the end of the fight, the other two were shamed until insanity. They also ended up dead. There was also an Uruk helping them who continuously humiliated me, even though he never knocked me down. He was shamed and poisoned.

Yes but only if you shame them until you break their will. But you must be carefoul because he can become crazy and some rare ones have such a strong will that they will never break even if they become insane.

Man i really liked him, i always wanted to give him the fort bc ratbag really wont appear anymore if it wasnt because Talion didnt give him the fort. Adn if ratbag became a traitor, a strong bodyguard could help to deal with his friend and him
After shaming him I recruited him again, leveled him up as high as possible, gave him an olog gang and gave him the perk that strengthens other ologs. I then went back to base and was preparing to march to Barad-dûr when he showed up out of nowhere and betrayed me. Needless to say, his head is no longer attached to his body after me and several orc captains completely destroyed him and his ologs. I legit thought he couldn’t be recruited, which sucks. He was one of my favorite characters in the game.
Pretty sure this is exactly what I did, except I think I re-recruited him around level 20 because that was when he finally broke so I could, and I didn’t feel like going all the way to level 1 for any reason.
When brûz betrayed me I shamed him down to level 17 and made him my body guard. After about 4 missions he betrayed me again so I shamed him to level 1 and then let him be slaughtered by a champion in the pit fights. This game is unbelievably brutal.

Not many people know this, but contrary to popular belief, Bruz isn't trying to take the fort , he wants nothing to do with it

I agree. I recently started a new playthrough and I'm having just as much fun as the previous ones! Love it!
They did take the microtransactions out and made epic and legendary orcs more available

I shamed him down to level one and then kept him around as an enemy for the rest of the game. Any time he'd be involved in a nemesis mission, I'd interfere and kill the other captain then run away. Any time he'd gain a level I'd shame him back to 1. Finally, when I started act 3 I recruited him, had him killed in the fight pits, resurrected him, then made him overlord
I recruited him but now I have 2 version of him both stating the same quote about the fort is that normal??

I did this so much to him that he wouldn't even talk, he just made noises and grunts.

I shamed bruz until he became a maniac, then shamed him back down to level one, recruited him, then made him fight my strongest orc, a defender bezerker that hasnt ever lost a pit fight after about 60 matches, had bruz get absolutely slaughtered.
Just to revive him as an undead, permanently level one, and make him overlord of a castle with no warchiefs to protect him

There was one dude that was a trusted captain I could never recruit him so I shamed him from 27 to 16 and accidentally killed him and they immediately replaced him I actually felt bad for him
I had a betrayal that just happened to me. It was three of my strongest uruks overall. One ended up dead by the end of the fight, the other two were shamed until insanity. They also ended up dead. There was also an Uruk helping them who continuously humiliated me, even though he never knocked me down. He was shamed and poisoned.

Yes but only if you shame them until you break their will. But you must be carefoul because he can become crazy and some rare ones have such a strong will that they will never break even if they become insane.

I was able to make him a maniac. Took a while to bring him down and also my level up a bit but I managed to somehow capture him and now their is a maniac bruz running my fort.......worth it?

Funny thing is after i shamed him i recruited him back to my ranks and he actually sacrificed himself defending the fort.

After shaming him I recruited him again, leveled him up as high as possible, gave him an olog gang and gave him the perk that strengthens other ologs. I then went back to base and was preparing to march to Barad-dûr when he showed up out of nowhere and betrayed me. Needless to say, his head is no longer attached to his body after me and several orc captains completely destroyed him and his ologs. I legit thought he couldn’t be recruited, which sucks. He was one of my favorite characters in the game.
Pretty sure this is exactly what I did, except I think I re-recruited him around level 20 because that was when he finally broke so I could, and I didn’t feel like going all the way to level 1 for any reason.
I'm glad you have a more evil look at the end of the game, it's very fitting for how truly evil you can treat these orcs

A lesson was taught that day
When brûz betrayed me I shamed him down to level 17 and made him my body guard. After about 4 missions he betrayed me again so I shamed him to level 1 and then let him be slaughtered by a champion in the pit fights. This game is unbelievably brutal.
