Learning apologies matter....allows space for peace to shift ones perspective without history following along to alter ego. Thank you.

My goodness, I wish this was subtitled in Burmese. Mr Ury's book Getting Past No was translated into Burmese years ago. Thank you so much for this beautiful conversation.

Little correction. He mentioned few times: White Wolves, he means Grey Wolves.
As a Kurd it warms me up knowing if this really happened as the war and wounds have been there for many many years.

Here's a big thing to think about when it comes to peace. When peace is achieved, it can be difficult to sustain. One reason is that if one person on the other "side" betrays the other, leader or not, and that person is not held accountable no matter how deep the ties, peace will fail because integrity is lost and trust is broken. Would leaders deal with a betrayer agreeably in order to preserve peace?

The world doesn’t need any more conflicts believe me. I get very sad when I ask the question if she/ he felt sad, down or depressed. They all point toward the same topic which is the conflict. Had a 85 year old Ukrainian grandmother who was in tears said “ honey this is not war it is brother killing brother I am down“ . She can’t sleep every night because she lost people to war and still has family who she doesn’t know will make it alive and there is many more like her I see in my daily practice. The news just confirmed 600 k Russian soldiers lost their lives. Who needs this conflict? Average citizens for certainty don’t.

We need confl7ct. The world would literally stop, development would stop, without controversy. Truths and "truths" must be questioned. Conflict and disagreement is not dangerous. The way we handle conflict and disagreement can be dangerous though, for example if we fail to see the different actual perspectives present in the conflict.

Conflict lies at the core of human nature. Challenges and wars arise, but the true test is in how we manage these conflicts-it is essential to understanding ourselves. Reflecting on “What did I do wrong, and what did you do right?” holds the potential to foster genuine understanding. Negotiation remains a cornerstone of resolution. Every day, I hold in my thoughts the people of Ukraine, Russia, Israel, Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, and Liberia. Negotiation is the path to lasting solutions.

32:30 With all due respect, it may be an indicator on how unsupportive they are to their kids that they behave this way with adults; many also lack empathy to animals as well, another telltale sign of an individual with psychosis.

How is it you completely avoid the elephant in the room. One of the most notorious elephants of today - Iran, who is determined to destroy the State of Israel and all the Jews in it. Surely your guest would have something to say...or perhaps not?
