Tom Cruise's psychologist twin. Good stuff too. Love Simon, and this was a great discussion. Needed it today too.

Simon, great guest, and enjoyed the insights given. The distracting part was your constant intervention while the guest was sharing his thoughts. If you look back you will see that your responses to the questions you posed were more than what the guest spoke. This is my feedback but I enjoyed the insights.

💯 Such a great conversation despite it being difficult to keep up with the continuity of thoughts . The passion in the host is okay, perhaps less interruptions would have made it easier for the listeners to follow. Good job either way

I would be interested to hear how Dr. Mike Gervais managed to transform his sport team's fear from losing again in Superbowl to new confidence and trust in their individual strength and power to win again as a team.

    We're programming ourselves 👍
Psychologist Ethan Kross calls this dark side of our minds “chatter.” As he writes in his book exploring the subject: “Chatter consists of the cyclical negative thoughts and emotions that turn our singular capacity for introspection into a curse rather than a blessing. It puts our performance, decision-making, relationships, happiness, and health in jeopardy.”

Simon : One does not need to BE the BEST , one just Sorrounds oneself with the BEST.
    SHOW UP.
    Put in the TIME
Those better then you will lift you up
Those not as good as you, you lift up

Confidence comes from what you say to yourself is easier said than done, wonder if there is any other way to gain confidence about the thing we do, aspiring pro golfer here..

Did not expect the takeaways from this to be so… kind and gentle. Love it, thank you both.

This is great and help me identify my drive. Which is not to perform well but to master a skill. Well done gentleman. Yes the current political situation to conform despite the ridiculousness makes more sense now.

Thank you to both of you. You've both influenced my thinking through your books and TH-cam videos (including your podcast), and still continuing to influence me. High respect to both of you. Best regards from Jakarta, Indonesia.

Please, please, please bring Dacher Keltner on your podcast. There is a synergy between optimism, gratitude, and awe that people need to hear about.

i wish i could see something about quiet quitting with a job that doesnt value employees, only the work they produce.

You need to find mastery in your work regardless of your boss. When you decide to leave you will take with you the skill of becoming masterful at a task. That is what you are looking for. Not a relationship from your boss.

It's really personal be courageous enough to leave the job and get another one where you will be valued.
Quiet quitting may hurt you because you are not deciding.

Simon reminds me of Jordan Peterson - both are super intelligent and switched on cookies
Both are pobably too intelligent as interviewers because they both go into lecture mode when it's their podcast when they should be interviewing their guests
Both are much better at being interviewed than interviewing as they have as much talk time as the guest.
The guest should have much more talk time than the interviewer (80/20 at least)

    • @Musikwagner
      @Musikwagner 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I know what you mean, but I think Simon is a really good listener, because he wants to understand the person he's talking to. He is an active listener.
