Best scene of the film, the acting is insane. Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard recite the lines of Shakespeare like they're were born to play those characters. Two stars with real, stunning presence on scene.

This scene was delivered brilliantly. I love how macduff was suspicious of Macbeth from the start and you can see here on macduffs face that he knew something more was going on. And fassbenders acting here was on point. Fantastic

Honestly one of the only Shakespearean adaptions where I felt that everyone involved in the production were dedicated to making his words come to life. So many other movies I've seen, whether directly adapted from or inspired by Shakespeare, have made mockeries of the stories or have glaring issues such as extremely campy acting, or lackluster directing. This however, though not without its own flaws, really did feel like there was a lot of passion coming from the many moving parts inside its production. Great effort by the director, actors, and everyone else involved in its production!

The way Fassbender stares so meekly into the ghost of Banquo is such a great detail. He looks so absolutely drained, almost like he was deprived of food and water for hours before shooting. His performance especially stuck out as excellent, loved him as an actor before but, this heightened my respect for him and his craft.

'Which of you have done this?' - Hah!
Such a great scene - one of my favorites in all of Shakespeare. I like Fassbender's take, totally scared shitless, but trying very hard (and failing) to keep his composure. And how he tries to use Lady MacBeth as a shield to hide from Banquo, like a child hiding behind mommy's legs....

i'm glad they set this macbeth in the same time period as the language. with how naturally fassbender and cotillard deliver their lines, it just feels like you're watching a particularly period-accurate movie rather than A Shakespeare Film (tm). somehow it adds so much to the immersion.
