This is beyond brilliant, but not just Kathryn Hunter's performance which is god like perfection, but the cinematography, the use of the environment to contribute to the atmosphere of this scene was epic utilization; the puddle, the fog, the usage of a drone to plunge us (the passive viewer) into this scene, and then hoist us out of it: this is an inspired dream; it will never become a distant memory, but will always be kept alive by its greatness; by the depth of its impact. What a pretentious statement. I actually get what you're saying and agree generally but people like you make film lovers look so bad. Maybe say "nice to see such creative filmmaking can still be found in modern cinema" instead of being elitist snob. It's so cringey

I always thought Macbeth's first interaction demonstrated (not sealed as in fate but indicated as in choice) how much desire for power resided in him. His friend addresses the witches with caution and some respect to their purported powers but is incredulous. He is making something of a joke of them, asking which seed would grow; of all things one could wish to know of the future that is a pretty minor one. But Macbeth instantly jumps to them telling the truth, albeit cryptically, and so proves the tragedy from the inception: it will be his decision to fall as he does.

I remember vividly Kathryn Hunter playing the Dursley's neighbor in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix", as this dowdy and bird-like little old lady, she was marvelous. But here we see the full force of veritable genius in this role. It is jaw-droppingly magnificent, mystical, archetypal.

Its was clear as glass that she and Alex stood out so strongly due to their theatre background. Honesty for me, both of them were the stand out performances of that film. Unfortunately, I cant say the same for the leads, esp the king. Terribly miscaste.
