Thank you, Easy 'as, A truly wonderful episode. This was Shakespeare's homage to King James (the Bible Guy), to give him a British heritage (through Banquo and Fleance), when in fact James was Celtic. The historical Macbeth killed Lady Macbeth's husband when she was 14 years old and with a one year old child ("I have given suck") after her husband killed Macbeth's father. Lady M. and her child became Macbeth's 'property'. Macbeth had a 17 year reign. He was considered a pious, benevolent Scottish King who became King of England with the Unification of England and Scotland. Gruoch's son, Luloch, was crowned after Macbeth's death. He was assasinated a few months later. One of the ironies of the play is that Lady M feared Macbeth would go mad. He did not; she did.
I love how creative some of the productions are with how the witches are portrayed. In one version I saw, the 'maid' witch, that is to say the youngest one, was portrayed by a boy. Just a regular young schoolboy type in a Druid-style robe, not a guy doing drag. And in the TV series "Oz," they're portrayed as English judges with white wigs and black robes, while in Patrick Stewart's version they were nurses.
this is so easy to understand and so helpful! i struggled with the general story and character relations even though i know my quotes so this was so helpful in helping me tie up loose ends. thank you so much have a lovely day!! :)

Great summary! But may I ask, I thought Fleonce would technically be king because he's the descendant of Macbeth's friend, why did it end with Malcom (Duncan's son) being king? Is there more to the story or did it truly end there?
It said banquo's descendants were to be king, doesn't explicitly say fleance. It's inferred that Malcolm doesn't have children and then the crown passes to Banquo's line. It's also inferred that King James I is descended from Banquo and the play was made to flatter him.

g im watching it now only 9 hours before the exam 😂😂
It's named the 'Scottish Play' because of the theatre tradition that it is unlucky to say 'Macbeth' in an actual theatre!
@@Joshy... thank you so much!
