  • The Liv Rove E+ is a hardtail cross country hybrid with women-specific saddle and grips. Approachable mid-step frame, four sizes, one color: satin light green. It's the most affordable electric bike model from Liv, is sold through dealers, and comes with a two-year warranty plus lifetime frame. Efficient and quiet SyncDrive motor is a collaboration between Giant and Yamaha. It offers up to 50 newton meters of torque and measures wheel speed, cadence, pedal torque, acceleration, and slop to deliver smooth natural operation. Optional smartphone app for tuning. Great battery placement with ability to charge on or off the frame. Fast 3 Amp charger is compact and light weight. SR Suntour 63mm travel suspension fork with basic preload adjustment, tubeless-ready gravel tires with a wide range of PSI options. Smooth hydraulic disc brakes. Minimalist button pad LED display is durable and easy to use, but limited on readouts. Bike does not come with a kickstand, but the dealer might include for free. No lights, fenders, or rear rack stock but plenty of mounting options to add post-purchase. Limited 100 RPM cadence support from motor and no shift detection.

    Thorough, as always! I do get a bit irked, however, when companies like Giant skimp on lights, fenders, kickstands, etc. I think they should really do what car companies do, which is offer package upgrades rather than nickel-and-diming customers to death. That way people who want a bare-bones bike can buy one and customize it, while people who want more features can buy a kitted-out version at a package (and hopefully discounted) price. I think that's smarter marketing than offering every single accessory individually. And FWIW, I do believe that no manufacturers should EVER offer a bike without lights. I believe that should be legally mandated, in fact. Who would buy a car where the headlights/taillights are an add-on accessory?

      Hi Tom, thanks for the compliment! Yeah, for the price and considering the brand, I felt like a few important things were missing. I'll be covering some of their more expensive bikes that do include fenders, racks, lights etc. in the future :)

    Love your reviews Court, one thing about this bike compared to some of the others is the lack of lights that’s a big thing for me as far as being built in for the extra safety factor although to offset that there really are decent external lights that can be recharged but still it’s nice to have for those that don’t want want the handle bars to look full. The other thing is you mentioned the kickstand doesn’t come included I think at that price I would like to have that stuff on the bike which yeah adds to the price of the bike but still it’s better than being charged separately for that stuff. Love the channel btw!!

      @@readyplayer2 hey! I'm 5'3" and it works well for me. I could have gone with the S, but they only had XS so that's what I got. I use it on the bus, so I have to lift it to put in the rack.. it is a bit heavy. Around 21kg without the battery, but it is manageable.

    Nice bike (though I don’t like that an ebike in this price range has such a basic display) and another thorough and helpful review.
    It is nice motor output can be fine-tuned in the app. Not many ebikes let you do that, especially those with big-brand motors.
    I second your liking the travel cover to shield the contacts when the battery is removed. I wish my ebike offered one.

      @@ElectricBikeReview
      I have two.
      The one I use most is a Ride1Up LMT’d XR. I added a Suntour suspension searpost, my old Topeak rack and a couple of side mirrors. It’s great for local errands and joyrides. I tow a cargo trailer when I need to haul bulkier or heavier items. Its Class 3 speed is helpful for riding in traffic as bicycling infrastructure is almost nonexistent in my neighborhood. The bottom bracket torque sensor is a bit slow to respond. The 100Nm hub motor is very helpful on the hills on my way home. The entry level air fork is nice, but it is my first, so it’s a big step up from the spring forks I’m used to.
      My other one is a Mate City S, a folder with a 36V, 350W hub motor capable of 40Nm of torque. The front spring fork already has a busted spring, I think. The elastomer rear shock is acceptable. I pack this one to ride in parks too far or too unsafe to ride to. I prefer its cadence sensor when my bad knee gets tweaked. Since it is designed primarily for the EU, I find I don’t like to pedal faster than 16mph due to its low gearing, though assist tops out at 20mph. I commuted to be office with it as I could store it under my desk.
      Each has a purpose, though I prefer to ride the LMT’d as I can better keep up with traffic and it handles better. However, I am always looking for my next ride. Features I’m looking for: mid-mount motor, internally geared hub, belt drive, ability to switch between torque or cadence driven modes (prefer torque but want to switch to cadence if my knee feels bad). Haven’t found one yet that meets all these, but I’m always open to suggestions. 😁

    Nice bike, I like the color and I'm a male...I think you mentioned Liv is mostly women specific? I also like the multi purpose/go anywhere platform. Curious, what happened to the dude you use to have help you out on reviews? Keep up the good work!🤙

    • @ElectricBikeReview
      @ElectricBikeReview  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Matthew! I like the color too, this could totally be unisex. I was mentioning women because I think that's how Liv is marketed, and the saddle might have a slightly different support for ladies vs. guys. It would be cheap and easy to swap out :)
      I used to work with Mikey from Blue Monkey Bicycles, and he has his own channel. Brent has Electrified Reviews, Chris Nolte has a channel for his shop called Propel now, and maybe Tyson and some others who helped here and there. Each has had their own path and I've shifted back to doing the reviews all for free and on my own. It's fun to collaborate, but I didn't love charging and it was difficult to train and support them. Thanks for asking!

      @@readyplayer2 My wife is just over 5'2" and I got her the small. She also had them trim the seat post down a little so she could lower the seat more and had them install a stem riser so she could have more of a "comfort bike" seating position.
