  • How long will it take for my aquarium Oscar fish to grow to full size? How fast do they grow in what size tank? You can expect the Oscar to grow around 1” per month when adequately fed everyday and given good water changes. Get yourself a quality pellet food too.

    Just keep up with them properly and don't worry about size until a year later and they still look small. Btw 12 months is a year not sure if you missed that in the editing or just had it fly over your head as you were concerned with giving people the info about the fish

    That's a beautiful Oscar Chris! And I hit up Tazawa Tanks on this and he said I could about 9 months to a year in a 55 gallon before I had to upgrade. But the secret to me is good food and big water changes with good water quality.

      Why would you have to upgrade what if the Oscar was only 10-11 inches and you had a 55 gallon with the right dimensions and you kept it clean

    I’ve been an fish enthusiast, Oscars more than anything. I’ve had different sizes and colors. The biggest I had he was approximately 18”, now this was given to me so I don’t know how old he was. I was told he was a rescue fish that been neglected and was always kept in a thank that too small for his size. But that’s all the iformation I got. So I don’t know how he was. I had him in a 150 gallon thank but I had to give him to someone who had a bigger thank. All the Oscar’s that I’ve ever raised since babies they do grow about in per month but after that they slow down once they get to about 10” they come to a stall. I’ve had this happen to me over the years with different Oscars

    My husband wants an Oscar, but I really don't know anything about them. What size aquarium should we get? I have a 75g, but we have it stocked with goldfish. 🤣

    • @matthewberry9648
      @matthewberry9648 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure if it's too late, but Oscars should be in a species only tank. 75g is fine for 1, if you want 2 you need a 120g minimum.

    • @onlykrash
      @onlykrash ปีที่แล้ว

      @@matthewberry9648 nah as juveniles they can easily be kept in a 40 until they start growing and maturing and getting bigger instructing someone to go out and buy a 120 for 2 Oscar’s is laughable my guy they aren’t even big swimmers I got 4 Oscar’s in my 125 they barely utilize the tank.. 😂 they just swim in there area and chill so please properly educate the new comers so they know what they are doing you clearly mislead her
