Very excited to see this developed Kevin 👍

Can't wait for this. I have a summit diverter right now but would like to switch to a true 3rd function.
Additionally with Tims new 6port Faster quick connect this will be yet another great update for my 2023 2025R

Backhoe thumb cylinder looks cool. Since I already have the BXP thumb, I would only need a cylinder with two hoses to make that work. Be cool if you can sell it that way. 👍👍

You would also need a valve and a way to actuate it from the backhoe station. I don't plan to offer it in a "build your own" type option at this point, but maybe in the future.

@@HydrosPlus I've got 3 remote valves. Paddle switches can be reached from either front or rear seat 👍

Very exciting. As another idea instead of a thumb wheel, would a rocker switch be a viable option? Sort of like a lot of mini-ex thumb/aux controls are configured? I’d be used to pushing either way vs rolling. I wonder if that type of switch would be more robust. Not sure if someone makes a 3-position variable resistance momentary-off-momentary switch for this application..

Where did you get the hard lines

Consider a Thumb wheel or rotary switch with Detents ?? NO confusing fine tuning needed .

    • @HydrosPlus
      @HydrosPlus  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

I probably didn't make it very clear in the video, but if you use a thumb wheel, you don't need to fine tune. You just turn until it goes the speed you want. Some tuning would be required if I go with "speeds", but not in the same way I was doing it in this video. Speeds would just limit the max speed if you have the thumb wheel.

I have a BX25 with the Landpride third function valve which I purchased along with my Landpride grapple. It’s an actual 3rd function valve and not a diverter. I believe that for Kubota, you can order a Landpride or Kubota OEM valve from the dealer, though I don’t know if either or both are true 3rd functions anymore. Kubota bought Landpride some number of years ago.

Can you clarify a little? Are you going to sell this just as a replacement solenoid for those already with a 3rd function, or will you be selling the full kit with all of the hard lines that the OEM would include (specifically for me I'm asking for my 2016 1025r with no 3rd function yet).
When you said that John Deere uses this solenoid in multiple tractors, is this just for the open station 3rd functions or does that also cover the 3 and 4 series cab tractor 3rd functions mounted behind the cab (2011 and up through modern 3r and 4r)? What about the 4th and 5th SCV on the 4 series (not the joystick/mid diverter version) where they are electric solenoids controlled by console switches?

There will be a full third function kit with all the plumbing, as well as an upgrade kit for JD owners who have the OEM third function already.
I don't know all the configurations that the particular valve is used in, but in cases that it is used, you will be able to upgrade to the HydrosPlus version to add the proportional capability to that model.

Silly (maybe) question and if you covered it in the video, sorry I missed it. Why not use a diverter valve off the joystick but mount it on the tractor instead of the loader like most of them? Seems like a simpler solution? if it was plumbed in for both front and rear hookup that would give you the capability of running 2 additional functions for say top and tilt cylinders on the 3pt (with front 2 disconnected) or give you the backhoe thumb and a 3rd function for whatever on the front. Only drawback I see is not being able to turn something 'on' like a saw, auger, or whatever. Anyway, thanks for sharing!

A diverter can work well for some, but it will limit you to 2 functions at once vs. 3...which may not be an issue for most. As mentioned, with HydrosPlus, since you have a significant increase in flow, there is a need to slow things down in some cases...and as you mentioned, running continuous hydraulic implements can't be done easily with the diverter. Thanks for the question!

Well - technically it is not “third function”. Third function is just an selector switch which switches the flow from one of the functions to something else. And it is mechanically proportional through the same means as original function.
What you did is added additional electronic proportional valve in Power Beyond/Carry Over set up.

Maybe the terms are colloquial, but I think what you are describing is more commonly referred to as a diverter or diverter valve. I'm not sure why it became known as a "third function" because we don't typically call the boom and tilt circuits on the loader SCV a "first" and "second" function, but this is how it's referred to in the JD product documentation. Maybe they call it a "third SCV", but it's a "third" and not simply a selector switch.

@@rshotty9039 Diverter is a third function. It’s all depends how it is plumbed and switched.

      @@HydrosPlus It’s called “third function”
      Because standard is only two.
Third function is the solenoid selector/diverter valve that plumbed in to A and B port of the works section of DCV.
And without pressing the button(s) you operate the original function, but with pressing the button(s) simultaneously with original (same) lever - you operate the additional function(s).

@@commenter5469 they are not the same thing. and its a travesty in the industry how so many get them confused. diverter uses 1 of the original functions and redirects it to another circuit. in a diverter system, you still only have 2 usable functions, there is absolutely, in any universe, no 3 joints usable at the same time. a TRUE 3rd function all the original functions still work. two very different things and you are not doing anyone any favors by trying to argue otherwise.
