    You're right about the Fitrite T&T kit lead time and higher cost. However, I opted to order from him anyway. Also, I could have my choice of color. I'm glad I bought from them after watching this video. Everything runs so smoothly. All the hoses are the perfect length for my tractor and the fittings didn't have to be changed. I'd say I had the standard links removed and the Fitrite installed in 15 minutes including moving the original manual side link to the left side in order to double my tilt if necessary.

    Kevlar hose sheathing works great. I often run a pair of hoses through one sheath. This holds them together and also protects them.

    • @TractorTimewithTim
      @TractorTimewithTim  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Ok, but ‘holding together’ is not always the right answer in these tight spaces. It is a significant challenge.

    Excellent video, lots of detail. It convinced me that I don't want to have anything to do with a hydraulic sidelink!!!
    I love my Summit power beyond + my Summit 3 valve setup for the hydraulic toplink. However, sidelink just isn't something I need to adjust often enough to offset the expense and the additional complication just seems like its asking for problems. I had to remount both the 3 valve assembly and the toplink cylinder to achieve a configuration that would avoid hanging/crushing the hoses on my 1025R. Based on the videos on the installation I've watched and some comments I've seen, there are apparently random variation in the ROPS, flashers, tool box mounting that insure there is no 'set' mounting configuration available for adding hydraulic accessories. on the 1R series.
    IMO - YMMV.

    Tim one thing I see as a issue the tight side to side spacing of the valve ports if the aluminum block was 1.25 inches thicker in the middle and the spacing from top to bottom had more space cause to replace a coupler you basically have to dismantle the entire thing it would also help cool the hydraulic fluid

    Finally starting to convert my top link over to hydraulic. However I'm going with the single spool manual lever. Might be a task to find a good place for it, I have a 2016, so my seat has to rotate for use with the backhoe. I'm sure I'll get it figured out. I bought the 18-26 cylinder and hoses from agristoreusa, and the other components from summit. I still need to get some of the fittings, but not until I'm happy with the placement of the valve and connection locations.

    Tim, you (and Ken) have done so much research regarding the hydraulic systems in these small compact tractors. I have a 2019 1025r largely influenced by this channel. I would love to install a top and tilt kit for my box blade. I don’t like the electric over hydraulic valves. Is it possible to use a simple loader joystick style manual valve set on these tractors instead? The plan would be the same as yours, plug into power beyond when backhoe is not attached and removed when backhoe is in place.

    I also have a Frontier RB2160 back blade that tilts as well as moves left and right. I needed the adjustment on the left side to get more lift because the RB2160 rear blade is taller than other blades.

    • @TractorTimewithTim

      It is not ‘a problem’…but if you look closely, having your lift arms ‘level’ when raised will result in them ‘not level’ when lowered. They do not ‘stay in sync’.

    Tim, I read an article that said we should use a tandem center valve as opposed to an open center valve. The reason was that tandem center did not leak down like an open center. I don't know if this is the case, just passing along what I read. Do you know anything about this?

    Great Content Tim! Does Summit have a side link kit for the 2025R? My measurements on a side link for the 2025R are approximately 15" to 21".

    I am curious Tim, do you think that they will manufacture for the left side as you suggested?? I myself would also prefer that so I don't want to make this purchase to have them come out with that in a couple a six months.

    Merry Christmas Tim! Great video with the great explanation of the pro and cons. I'm sure you have a great relationship with Summit, but with the little issues you pointed out, wonder why Summit didn't take your advice? Seemes like they wanted to rush it, perhaps? Not trying to be negative, just seems like it was rushed on their in. I know if i would have purchased this kit without seeing your video i would be upset for the amounts on money i spent. However watching the video, least i know what i am going to expect from your review.

    I had a problem with the mower deck the mower deck was just dropped down like a hard rock. They had to put an orifice into the line and once that was done, they went down smoothly.

      I agree 1/4 hose would also restrict flow and help. I put the restrictors on my side links. Glad you mentioned them. I been thinking of machining a micro sized double piloted locking valve to fit short cylinders. Even the cylinder on my tractor side link was really to short for the standard load locking valves. I mounted mine for the tilt cylinder near the tractor seat. It’s just a pain to hook up at times as you mentioned. Hope you all have an amazing blessed Christmas.
