seriously...if there's a moment where you can give up and no one would blame you it would be when you've been beaten and stabbed and your're literally split open from hip to hip, but she didn't give up. she put up enough of a fight that she left FINGERNAILS IN HER OWN UTERUS. it's incredible that she had that much strength in her state. mothers are just incredible

It's devastating the baby did not make it...All I wanted was for the mom to hear the baby is fine before she died. Clearly her own death wasn't even on her mind, it was her baby she was thinking of and still her strength wasn't enough. Really shows how cruel this case is, this is the kind of story where you want to hear "Despite their low odds of survival, mom and child made it out alive."

I had my son almost 14 yrs ago & my mother _constantly_ told me _"Do not _*_ever,_*_ under _*_any_*_ circumstance go to a woman's house alone, a stranger, _*_anyone,_*_ especially if they are saying they have free baby clothes. Don't even talk about your due date online."_ I listened, and I wouldn't have anyway, but this was well before the true crime wave, before dedicated TH-cam channels, podcasts, etc. so it's been enough of an issue that even back then my mom was trying to protect me.
I think hospitals, centering and/or lamaze classes, etc. should give the same warning to patients, especially younger patients since they tend to document _so_ much of their pregnancies online. I'm not victim-blaming, this poor woman had no idea, but not everyone has a paranoid mom coaching them about what _not_ to do.

My account was as private as it could be ~and~ 2. The literal _second_ he got into the "don't take my picture" phase (like 6 years old) I told myself nothing was important enough to post him online. If he doesn't want me, his mother, taking his picture or recording him, why would he want a bunch of other people looking at him? Consent is super important and even though, yes, he's forced to do school pictures, birthdays, holidays, all for the sake of memories, I won't force him and I will absolutely NOT put him online.

I'm sure true crime fans are more than familiar with what the detectives are doing when they make excuses for her actions and tell her she's not a bad person. If a detective ever tells you that you aren't a bad person, it means every single person in the building knows you are an actual monster and more than anything wants to be there to see the needle go into your arm.

    • @crystalcorley
      @crystalcorley 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +211

Yep, they'll tell you they don't think you're a bad person, but if you don't explain what or why this happened, everyone will just assume that you're a cold blooded killer and a monster. They'll try to give you a way out to get you to confess. Maybe it was an accident or self defense, you didn't mean it, but something happened or got out of hand and you ended up killing her. Sidenote, never talk to the police without a lawyer.

Exactly. Women who knowingly fake pregnancies often do it after noting the attention and care most women get while pregnant, or as a way to manipulate a partner or family. They care little for the resulting child after a few months. Fortunately, very few of them abduct babies to complete the lie.
Then there are a separate group of women who are convinced they are pregnant despite all tests and imaging showing they are not. Some even believe they just have pregnancies that last years and the “baby” will be delivered eventually, and even have online support groups where they tell each other yes, this is possible, don’t believe the tests, etc.

Honestly, Taylor had such red flags from beginning. I too, was a pathological liar for attention as a kid and it wasn’t until I was 19, that I got a proper support system that I realized I didn’t have to lie to get the attention I craved. (I was neglected and emotionally abused by my family as a child)
I still catch myself lying about stuff, and have to remind myself that there’s no point in it. I am so lucky to have the access to a proper support system. It seemed like everyone who knew Taylor just wrote it off as “taylor is a crazy liar haha thats her thing!” This was so preventable had someone noticed this behavior and took it seriously…

A few months before he was born, there had been a fetus theft from a young lady that grew up next to us. The baby survived when they found her because the killer did the same thing by claiming she had given birth. Momma didn't survive. This was the first time I'd hear of fetus theft. Ultimately it ran it's course and she had to admit that she wasn't pregnant, but it was honestly so creepy and terrifying to see her posting belly photos and talking about contractions and movement. Even worse to see the women that were really pregnant interacting with her.

There are many more people faking, or falsely believe, they are pregnant than those who kill to abduct a baby. So I agree that I wouldn’t take any chances with that woman, but most likely she was someone just dealing poorly with infertility and not a baby kidnapper. I did one year in inpatient psychiatry and we had 2 consults from obstetrics for women who weren’t pregnant, but who insisted they were pregnant despite blood tests and imaging showing they weren’t.
We also had a third consult from a woman who assumed she was pregnant as she felt sick and her abdomen was enlarging, and was admitted to the Obstetrics unit, but was found to be in liver failure and not pregnant.

Her behavior didn’t get strange only after the hysterectomy, her mother only never noticed it before because Taylor never directed any of towards her mother specifically until she hired a hitman to kill her and her mother clearly never payed enough attention to her daughter to notice her behavior if it was allowed to get to the point of faking cancer by 8 years old! The fact that her mother still claimed that she had a normal childhood even after she’s had all those years to reflect (especially after her daughter grew up to freaking kill a woman her baby!!) says loads about Taylor mother as a person and her standards.

Her behavior was 100% strange pretty much her entire life. I think nothing big had really come back to bite taylor in front of her parents until this point. And you can’t really make up too many lies about your personal life to your parents since for your whole childhood (at least) they’re with you for pretty much everything and know what happens anytime you aren’t with then. I feel like there had to have been some signs she had serious issues, but I think maybe her parents chose to ignore rumors and just hope she grew out of it. They could have also either enabled her by not giving her real consequences for things, so she felt like she could get away with crazy lies, or they could have not paid her enough attention and that’s why she has such intense attention seeking habits. The things she said at 8 or 9 makes me feel like maybe there could have been serious trauma in her childhood as well. Her issues probably come from lots of things combined. Sick woman.

My ex is a pathological liar. Now, I don’t know if he knows he’s lying or if he actually believes his own lies. Its very possible that he brainwashes himself to believe his own bs. All I know for sure is that if his lips are moving, he’s lying his ass off. And it could be over the silliest of things. Things that there is no reason to lie about… but the big lies he tells are absolutely diabolical imho. I recently overheard a phone conversation he had with our son. It went like this:
First some context- he’s always sending texts to our son that he is “worried about him” and that he is “praying for him”. We don’t know why. My son is always baffled by these texts, and comes to me when he gets these texts and asks me “what is he talking about?” He comes to me bc he is afraid of angering his dad by questioning him. My ex absolutely has anger issues on top of his lying issues, and his anger outbursts scares our son.
Son: “I’m fine. You don’t need to worry about me Daddy. Everything is ok… I love you.”
My Ex: “I just been so worried bc you were sick last month with 106 temp and your mom didn’t take you to the doctor. THAT CAN KILL YOU SON! I also know that you are failing school… you’re my kid, I’m always gonna worry about you and will continue to pray that God protects you.”
My son never corrects. He just changes the subject bc he is afraid of making his father angry. (His words.) He’ll usually just change the subject to how well he is doing on learning to play the saxophone or what new games he’s played or having fun hanging out with his friends ect ect ect…
Now to address the allegations: My son most definitely DID NOT have a 106 temperature, nor was he even remotely sick last month. Not even a sniffle. And his grades are currently A’s and B’s right now… he did have a D in ELA last semester but that is due to struggling with Reading Comp, something the school noticed and he is now in a specific reading class to help with this. But a D is technically not failing. My ex is constantly inventing news lies to try to get my kids taken from me and tries manipulate our son to believe the lies he tells. Though my son is starting to see it all for what it is as he is now entering the teenage years… I wish he (my ex) would just STOP! Its not going to do their relationship any favors in the future. He’s hurting his relationship with our son, not mine. One time he called CPS and told them that my husband was SAing my son, our 3 year old and my newborn. He initially only reported abuse with my son but when he realized it wasn’t getting him the result he wanted and as fast as he wanted it, he drug my other two children that I have with my husband, into his web of lies/schemes. All complete BS and it was found to be as such but its the fact that he actually tried to hurt so many innocent people with that lie that is really hurtful and terrifying. He hates me and wants to hurt ME at all costs and doesn’t care whose life he destroys in the process. My crime you might ask? Leaving him bc I didn’t want to live with a pathological liar, master manipulator and abusive A-hole anymore. Though he likes to call it “abandoning him.” Sure, ya damn right I did. Before I left him, I was at the end of my rope… I actually didn’t want to be alive anymore. For my mental health and our son, I had to escape his hell. Living with him was the closest thing to hell that I can imagine. While my physical body has escaped, he still puts me through literal hell mentally. I pray everyday he will stop and just leave me alone and move on with his life… and hopefully get some help and become a decent f*cking human being. I wouldn’t wish dealing with this kind of person on ANYONE. My heart goes out to this family that lost two precious lives at the hands of someone so evil.
Anyway, sorry to dump all this on you. I guess this story was a little triggering for me. Though my ex is not this bad (he hasn’t committed redrum… that I know of), I still felt like I could relate in some way. They really need to figure out some type of treatment for this mental disorder (if you can call it that), and fast. These type of people can be so so dangerous to all parties involved, that includes themselves. There needs to be more awareness on this…

TRUE STORY: my older brother dated a girl for years who announced she was pregnant. We were all so excited. My mom threw her a baby shower, my brother set up a nursery. She posted pictures of her (none growing) belly through out the months. I questioned why it wasn’t growing and she always had an excuse. She also had ultrasounds to prove that she was pregnant. Well one day while at work (two weeks past her due date) I received a call from my mom telling me she was in labor. We all rushed to the hospital. While there the doctor comes in to tell us to wait in the waiting room. Confused of course we patiently waited for an update. My brother ends up coming out the room crying saying SHE WAS NEVER PREGNANT! Apparently in the past she made several appointments stating she was pregnant, and every time the doctors would tell her she wasn’t. She truly in her mind believed she was pregnant 😭 the doctors apparently admitted her into a psychiatric hospital for months and never heard from her again.

I know this is the least important detail for me to praise you on, but thank you for handling the bariatric procedure respectfully. I had the sleeve done and was constantly told that I took the easy way out to lose the weight. The surgery is a tool! There is still so much hard work that goes into it.
Idk, I just really appreciated that you referred to it as a tool, not an immediate and permanent fix.
I know it’s minor, but you reached another person today by just being respectful.

I got Trisha Paytas vibes hearing how Taylor stole the stories/identities of those around her for attention, particularly from the opposite-sex.
Trisha feigned schizophrenia, DID, addiction to illicit drugs like meth and heroin, claimed infertility, identified as trans, as a lesbian and told obvious lies about her supposed history as a stripper/street-worker come high-demand escort to the stars. 🙄

I met one of those pathogical liars, and it is fricking scary how much they scalate in their own storytelling. I was the new victim since I moved schools during high school. First week new school I met this girl, incredible sweet, she had the best scores and was so caring. We became friends right away. I was new and I thought it was strange she did not have friends but I thought it was because of her weight as she was on the heavy side and my first thought was bullying. We used to study together and slowly she started "open up", and at the beginning I seriously believed her. I worried for her, then the stories started to become bigger and at some point she came with also this "cancer" story. Even though I was yet naive for certain things, my mom was sick during a long time (not cancer, something else) but I knew a lot about how doctors and nurses work how certain procedures go, and I knew she was lying. It broke my heart coz I really liked her, and I thought she was a great friend but on the other hand, I was upset for the whole made up stories. I talked with another schoolmate later at school as they haven been together for years in the same school and she just rolled her eyes and said, it was nothing knew she has always been lying about everything.

I knew a girl exactly like this and she also lied about having cancer. Thing is, we had a whole friend group and everyone believed her until things she said started sounding made up. Some of the people in the group felt bad for her and continued to support her even when she continued lying but I just couldn't pretend, she was clearly mentally ill so I stopped associating myself with the whole friend group.

If someone around us was grieving the death of a loved one, suddenly she needed sympathy cards too. Once I was out of school for 3months because I lost a part of my finger from it being slammed in the door. When I came back she STOLE PARTS OF MY STORY AND PRETENDED TO HAVE LOST HER FINGER TOO. This sounds exactly like a girl in my highschool. What's scary is that she does all of this, the fake cancer, fake pregnancy, fake boyfriends, but she likes to add that she's being 'abused' at home, (she has cousins and they all say that she's lying and her parents are actually really nice) I wonder if she might turn out like that.

    • @mensesmimi
      @mensesmimi 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

The cousins wouldn't know what her parents are like unless they're being raised in the same household. It's not impossible for abusers to be good to people outside the dynamic where they're abusive and use their public image to further isolate their target because everyone will gaslight and shame the target and say the abuser is always nice to THEM. This is how my abusive parents and my abusive ex were, and honestly I don't understand how someone who has a normal upbringing with zero trauma or abuse resorts to pathological lying to get attention. That shows that they learned to lie to get their needs met at an early age because they were being neglected or were unsafe and couldn't tell the truth for fear of punishment for no reason (I was once beaten for reading a book, extremely abusive parents will punish a child for everything and cause their child to become deceptive and try to hide everything about themselves to feel safe) and they learned that they could only be safe or form relationships with other people by hiding their authentic self and life and lying instead.
That's just my two cents from a child psychology perspective. Pathological liars do not seem to have any identity or self and do not believe that people would engage with them or like them if they tried to present their authentic self (which they are disconnected from since they lie so much) most likely because they were never accepted or loved including by their family. If not corrected they just become out of touch with reality and the pathological lying is no longer about the original traumatizing/negligent/abusive environment and family dynamic but just their way of being that they don't know an alternative to.

The people with ASPD symptoms who choose to frequently lie do so in a way that I find to be qualitatively different from the way lies are formulated where narcissistic personality traits are present.

Good on you for giving Taylor's children privacy. They don't deserve to be stuck with all this simply because their mother is a horrible person.

I myself am a full time carer to my partner, he has primary progressive MS. Everyday is a struggle. He has been a wheelchair user for the past year, he has suffered hugely mentally and physically due to his diagnosis. I want to personally thank you Stephanie for correctly and eloquently talking about how hard it can be as a person with MS. A lot of people assume it's and easy condition to live with. Thank you for taking a moment during this video to raise awareness in a way.
Also, no matter how many times I hear this story it makes me sick to my stomach.

Thank goodness for the cohost asking questions. I have such a hard time tracking the stories.

Specially this one because she presented lies as facts and so if you turn your head for a second you can miss when she mentions all those things were lies
