Today's late night was changed into propaganda tools after the oldies retired. The powers that be knew the greatest generation loved their country, and couldn't sway them to betray their nation by controlling the people with scripted narratives to bring about their leftist nightmare of command and control. The pandemic, the jab, the stolen election, were; and are ; working toward the new Feudal system. They MUST destroy the middle class, the currency, and private property; including agricultural land . They want to control energy with the climate scare scam and stopping hydrocarbons that fuel freedom.
As a kid, when I saw a commercial that Don Rickles was appearing on the Tonight Show I would make sure I stayed up to watch, even if it was a school night.
Magical time in tv! Sure there was the back stage drama ! Well produced show ! Don Rickles thank you for you service in wwii all three of you guys ! Ed McMahon - marine raiders wwii !! Johnny died worth $500 million dollars !!! True comedians ! Miss that time
Once, Mr. Rickles referred to an audience member as being Chinese. The man corrected him and said, "I'm Japanese." Mr. Rickles responded, "Like that's any better." So damn funny.
Or when he asked another Asian man "Japanese?", the guy said "No, Chinese" and Rickles turned to the rest of the audience and went "Sure, after the war they're all Chinese"
One time he asked a member of the audience to stand up. This man was rather large and wearing a Hawaiian shirt. Don took a look at him and then turned to the audience and said "Oh look!" a Mexican posing as a Hawaiian! ☺
When I'm in the dumps, I get on TH-cam and watch Don Rickles on the Tonight Show, with Johnny Carson. This is what comedy is supposed to be. I never watch the current late night shows, because every time I do I get pissed off at the garbage they call comedy. I may not be using YT much any more, because of their Draconian crap, against those that do not tow the Leftist line. But while I do, this stuff is too precious to not watch.
No matter the news from New York or Washington D.C. or Chicago. The national consciousness is instantly aware if anything changes on late night television. If Johnny has. Contract. Differences, or goes on vacation with a substitute host. We counted the minutes until he was on our screens again.
Different type of comedy. I loved Dangerfield and i think he was funny as a hell but his jokes were all very well scripted for his appearances and Rodney didn’t stray too far from his well prepared material. Rickles was all totally off the cuff, little to no preparation. Just wind him up and let him go. He could go all night. Both legends, but i enjoyed Rickles style a little more.
By 1986 his act was starting to get stale… a lot of it was made up of recycled “ad libs” from years ago that fell flat. Don was great in short doses but he was overexposed towards the end of his career.
Now that's what yah call entertainment, just can't get enough of Don Rickles and Johnny Carson.
This was quality late night television, not the garbage they have today.
I mean, Conan is pretty cool to watch
Fallon is the worst
@@Mike-t-m1921 Yes awful

Rickles served on a torpedo boat in the S. Pacific during WW2. I am sure he knew the difference.
