I love it when when the small ones hit like a 4 pounder! Thanks for my after dinner entertainment again. Hate the time change, doesn't give me any time after work to wet a line
I'm over at Roosevelt this week in hopes to get the bite on with bows, burbot and/or walleye. No luck today, but hopefully it picks up as the week goes on. Nice fish!
Great video as always. I appreciate the way you explain why you believe certain techniques or specific gear is best at different times. It helps me to remember
The lake I fish in the fall for big cutthroat the fishing will be really good in the morning then dead when it’s calm and sunny then picks up again when the wind kicks up same reason you mentioned the chop gets them coming up shallow again to feed
My brother came to the conclusion that he had more hits and hookups when keeping his casts within 45 degrees of the shore. This also works for me. Also, you will catch more rainbows and cutthroats with silver and more browns with brass. Brook trout went wild over yellow and red spoons of appropriate size.
Enjoyed the video. Curiosity question, why wouldn't you use a longer handled net in those conditions. My old barely bendable back and legs cringed every time you bent over.
What kind of single hook would you prefer for spinners over the J Siwash? I’ve tried multiple brands and styles for salmon fishing and still seem to have a lousy hook up ratio. I’ve considered trying cutting the third hook off a treble and trying that next.
There’s nothing wrong with keeping a few where legal. We pay for licenses to support the upkeep of the fishery, plus keeping some helps the size and overall health of the population. Catch and release snobs ruin the sport imo.
@@chubbrock659 Ha yeah don't get me started. They stress out fish, hold them out of the water by the jaw or squeeze their guts, hold them up for a picture. Then pat themselves on the back as the fish "swims away strong" only to have a higher chance of being eaten by predators and dying from the injuries sustained by catching and releasing. I do like Spiltmilt's content and he seems like a genuinely good guy and great angler but he does hold the fish by squeezing them for instance, the thumbnail pic on this video is definitely a fish squeeze
Is that a new rod or do you not like to remove plastic over your cork handle? Great rod by the way. I have multiple of that kind in many different lengths. 👍🏻
Never mind I looked further into the video. Your cork has a lot of marks in it. It looked like the plastic that has symbols on it. Anyways, keep the vids coming they are interesting. Thanks
Beer can beach! When I lived in Omak I used to sight fish the lahontan’s in the spring with a fly rod as they cruised the shore line. Super fun!
you got into a nice Tank bite!

Great bank fishing session! Always surprising how close to the bank the fish can be sometimes!

Another great video. Other than my son -in -law you are a fishing guru.
Beautiful fish! Some late fall day I might just have to give Omak a try.
Wow what a nice school of trout
It sure was! Caught an equal number of fish that didn't make it in the film.
Recently I caught a big brook trout while bass fishing the last day of fishing season it was a great end of the season surprise 💯 !
enjoyed the bank fishing video. Along with all of your video's
Keep making videos they’re all great !
Can't stop, won't stop!!!
Nice fish! Looks like a fun day.

Kelly Ferry Kokanee is what I want to try. Soon too.
Awesome stuff! 👌
You are a fishing machine!

I planned on hiking and covering some ground so I had the short handle net that mounts on my backpack

I like the Cultiva's. Shorter shank and wider gap. baitfinesseempire.com/product/cultiva-s-31-single-barbed-replacement-hooks-for-spoons/
@@spiltmilt Those look good, but are a little small for salmon. Is there a similar style that Owner makes in a 1/0 - 2/0 size ?
Yes I believe so.
Nice. And again, thank you for the catch and release.
