You feel like you're eating a meal a little closer to who we really are as humans. Or maybe I'm over thinking it entirely, and I just find all of those things delicious. Yeah, that's probably it.

Loving your videos sir. Especially these with the prettier half in it. Your chemistry is palpable. You really look like y’all have fun which is excellent. I love to do the foraging thing along with fishing and hunting. When I was really young we didn't have a lot of money so growing, catching, and hunting our food was a way of life we rarely bought anything. I'm a welder/pipe fitter now so I do good these days but there's just something about trying to live off the land as much as possible that's satisfying so I still try to live that way whenever possible. Great video as always keepem coming!!!

My girlfriend and I forage mushrooms all year long. Those pheasants back mushrooms are good as long as they’re small. They’re great for dehydrating and making mushroom salt with.
Crunchy fish coating, try cornflake crumbs once, instead of flour.

Great show as usual! Thanks for including the foraging - it somehow just faded out on my river/creek fishing adventures, fall hunting as well. My father got me into on hikes and I passed it on to mine. Definitely getting back to it early spring.
If you want to completely change your morel finding game, learn how to identify elm and sycamore trees, and just tree hunt hillsides. Don't even look for mushrooms, just find the trees and you'll find the mushrooms. Old fruit orchards are also productive.

The ramps you want to dig the whole thing out there’s a white bulb on the end. The pheasant backs the bigger they are the tougher they are.
The plant you and your wife are talking about IS wild Ginger. It is certainly edible(dandelions also). I used to plant them underneath the large trees in my yard so I don't have to weedeat around them. It creates beautiful foliage, essentially year -round here in KY. I have heard of people, back in the day, using it similar to spinach and "wilting" it in bacon grease in a frying pan. It would be a little strong for me...
Tell your wife next time to make sure she gets the bulbs of the ramps next time.

Love the catch, cook and forage vids. Can't do it any more, but used to leave the house with a basic backpack, fishing gear, and graze while working the river (central Iowa). Could stay out for days when time permitted. Few people realize how much good grub is available if ya know what you're looking for.

Heck yea! This is awesome. I got a wild grape vine that grows behind my apartment, and I'm so glad no one thinks its a weed yet. The leaves taste like sour green grapes. If you wanna forage bud I'd watch and learn with you.

We are having fish tacos with homemade peach salsa and leaf lettuce straight out of the garden tonight. The trout fillets are the last few that we caught last weekend at the lake.

Love foraging off the land. Not sure about your state but here in Indiana we have over 40 different edible mushrooms alot of people only think we have the spring Morels but we are lucky enough to have mushrooms all year round spring, summer, fall, and early winter probably only two months out of the year we don't have edible shrooms. And as far as plant life goes we have tons of edible plants and Roots. We also have plants you can make very good money from selling if you know what your looking for with the Ginseng you can make a tea or sell the root big time money or Goldenseal root you can sell.

Just as a reference, the pheasant back mushrooms (dyrads saddle) is preferred when they are smaller. Makes them more tender! :)
