I'll never forget Dark Horse's _Empire_ and _Rebellion_ comics as they were one of the first Star Wars comics that I read as a kid. The battle of Jabiim, the infiltration and rescue of the Jabiimi slaves on the prison world, and the story in this video was stuff that I read and re-read constantly. The character of Lt. Janek Sunber showed that there were good Imperials; the Battle of Jabiim had callbacks to the Clone Wars volumes and Anakin's involvement there that was remembered by later generations; the storytelling was top-notch, going from tension-filled scenes to epic battles to emotional reunions to covert ops; and the art was incredible in every issue. Like, very few of the Marvel Star Wars series in the past six years can even come close to this level.
For some reason I really enjoyed these Legend comics that intended to fill the gap in between movies, especially those set between EP4 and EP5. It really made me feel like this is all part of a vast galaxy which has millions of stories happening everyday. This is also what I loved about the prequels - the world scale. The OT and ST movies make everything seems small, like one planet is just one single location or scene just like in video games. With OT it's understandable since they were groundbreaking as they were at the time. ST - not so much.

Lucas gave his blessing to both groups to create stories in the universe. Dark horse, and lucas arts did better with that blessing

For example, various groups of insurgencies like in the Middle East don't have great power or man power because they rule through force, in simple words terrorist, giving them a bad name to the people who the presumably trying to free, thus causing hatred towards them and the lack to join and fund. But for an insurgency like the Rebel Alliance who rule through will and example, fighting and Empire who has shown time again that it's and Evil that most be stop, it's then when many would be more than happy to join it and fund it by any means necessary.

We need a Star Wars version of Shay Cormac from Assassin's Creed Rogue. In this version, the Rebel trooper betrayed Rebel Alliance when discovered his commanding officers (under someone else, not Leia or Mon Mothma) authorized massacre of innocent civilians who were suspected of Imperial sympathizers and defected to the Empire.
