I really appreciate all the effort you put into your channel. I’m 61 & have been watching horror movies for 52 years (my 1st was Karlof’s “The Mummy) so I may not always agree with your opinion, but I find the manner in which you present your movie reviews to be quite entertaining. Love & Merry Christmas from Nefer in Houston, Texas 👻💜
I'm a horror movie buff, in Dayton, Ohio we had a show called "Creature Feature" hosted by Dr.Creep. Loved the show, one Sunday afternoon my family was on a "Sunday Drive", Dr.Creep was driving right behind us in full makeup. Terrified my young mind, I'm 58 and I still remember that Beautiful Sunny SunDay that frightened my little mind 😅😅😅
Yep, I’m 58 and my first horror movie was Frankenstein with Boris Karloff and Colin Clive. It’s been my favorite genre my whole life. He makes some excellent recommendations on movies I may not normally watch but he has yet to let me down.
I am a 61 year old horror movie fan as well. There were two movies that came out when I was about 9, maybe 1972. One was "Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things" and the other was "Don't be Afraid of the Dark". I remember both as really scaring me at the time. I've seen them both a couple times as an adult and they are pretty tame by today's standards. Funny how certain movies just leave an impression.
Bro, I LOOOOOVE your channel. I appreciate and respect your eclectic range for horror and thriller media. My step daughter is getting into horror and I use your channel to find movies to watch with her that aren't too off the top with gore, nudity or sexual themes. I watch the crazy stuff alone. Keep up the good work, and Horror really can be fun!
I agree, he dosent suggest stuff just because it's gross an full of "T 'n' A" I like mind bender horror and found so many off his channel, cosmic horror too👍
I just watched "Oddity" 3 days ago on your recommendation.I LOVE it.Its my number 1 this year and it's the first movie that literally made me jump out of my chair. The story;the cast;all incredible. Thanks so much for the recommendation Kainan.
Your Honorable Mentions are exactly where they should be - All very good, but not knock your socks off good. I was shocked that "Lord of Misrule" was included. I love this movie, and you're the only horror site that has brought it to the forefront. Great job once again, Kainan. Merriest Christmas to You!
Just found your channel-I’m obsessed. I’ve been bingeing your videos already watched 1 of your recommendations (a wounded fawn *loved it by the way*) and I’ve got more on my tbr. Thanks for talking about lesser known titles. So glad to have stumbled onto your content. Great work!
So impressed by your reviews, recommendations and top ten lists. Very considered and thoroughly thought out. My favourite thing about your videos is your overall encouragement of new film makers. ❤
I am so obsessed with Stopmotion!!! ❤ such an amazing film in my opinion… I totally agree with you, Aisling Franciosi is super talented, her performance blew me away! I have become a huge fan of hers! 🔥 This movie got to me really hard… I too had an overbearing mother that passed away when I was very young and it affected me so much that it absolutely changed me. Anyway… great list my friend!!! Thank you, and Merry Christmas! 😊🎄♥️👻
Kainan, I love your videos. You direct me on what movies to check out and I learn about so many that would normally fly under the radar. Happy Holidays and I hope you have a successful and safe 2025. ❤
Damn! I can't wait for the top 10. I was so surprised at a couple of your honorable mentions. It was indeed a great year for horror. I agree with you about Lords of Misrule. I watched it on your recommendation and holy hell it was great. Mads will be my next watch. Merry Merry Kainan!
Horror felt very rejuvenated in 2024 for me. So many great titles and your channel has done such a great job touching on most of them. Thanks for doing what you do.
MADS was such a good movie. I loved the fresh perspective of a zombie movie from the infected's POV and mixing that with the psychedelic dread of going through a bad trip was great. The performances were awesome too, especially Laurie Pavy. Definitely one of the best zombie turning sequences I've ever seen from her. Those animalistic hisses and mannerisms mixed with giggling was so terrifying. Watched it just a day ago and I'm still geeking out over it.
I can't believe these were the honorable mentions!!!! So many good flicks! Can't wait to watch Cockoo!!!! Next on my list! Keep making the amazing lists! They are my favorite!
So glad that I came across your channel! What a gem! Amazing suggestion in horror films, I enjoy how well you describe them and what you found enjoyable on them! As well as where one can watch them. This channel is PERFECTION!
Thanks for the Milk and Serial find, just watched it and found it captivating! I have sooo much respect for movies that leverage a clever script on a bare budget..it's both impressive and inspiring. In Milk and Serial they really nailed the implacable smarts that characterize psychopaths lol. A happy and vibrant 2025 ya'll!!
I finally watched all 10 movies on this list the last one I watched was MADs and I have to say this is a solid list I really enjoyed every one of these movies Thank you for recommendams them 👍😁
Can't believe some of these are just honorable mentions. Late Night With the Devil, Stopmotion, MADS and Milk & Serial are definitely on the top of my list...and probably Cuckoo, though it may be a little lower. Oddity was a victim of over hype for me, especially since everyone who didn't like Longlegs kept comparing it. (Longlegs is probably my absolute fav.) Anyway, i will be curious to see your ultimate Top 10. I get the feeling you see a lot more movies than me. 😂
The little flesh puppet scenes in stop motion creeped me out like pressed into my couch creeped out almost how some scenes in mad god just have you froze with anxiety lol.
Dude. Fantastic Honorable Mentions! Just saw your official top 10 and loved that list too. Only missed two out of the twenty, Lord of Misrule and The Coffee Table. Going to rectify that this weekend, woop woop. We're in a horror renaissance--the acting in a lot of our faves is Oscar-worthy. Hugh Grant, Nicolas Cage, Naomi Scott, Demi Moore, Rose-Depp, I could go on and on. I feel like since Toni Collette in Hereditary we're seeing more actors go for broke and nail it.
This is a Great list I watched the 1st 7 movies on here and missed the last 3 I need to get around to watching Oddity mads and milk and cereal the 1st are all Great movies I don't scare easily but late night with the Devil Stop motion and infested all scared me and I loved it I would put Stung as another great spider 🕷️ movie of the year that scared me 😯 I'm looking forward to seeing your 10 Best of list and I hope you do a 10 worst of list this year and do reviews for Nosferatu and babygirl the new Nicole Kidman movie I need to know if there worth my money 💰😂 Merry Christmas ! 🎄🎁
Hey, Kainan! Love your channel! And I love your honorable mention picks. Seen 'em all! Can't wait to see your actual top 10! I agree. It really has been a great year for horror. One movie I don't see getting mentioned on anyone's horror top 10 or honorable mentions is Anna Kendrick's movie Woman of the Hour. It's probably not in your top 10. It wouldn't necessarily be in mine, but it's definitely worth a mention for this past year. Maybe some would categorize it under Suspense or True Crime but I think that Kendrick does a great job directing this and creating scenes of dread and tension. Based on a true story. If you haven't yet covered it, and forgive me if you already have, it's worth a look. I'd really like to hear your opinion.
Yeah I definitely know that feeling, my recommendation is to pick one movie a month or so that you have the most confidence in seeing and see it at a matinee for $6 or there is also a website called advanced movies where you can see movies free in advance. It’s worth checking out at least
"Infested" is so well done, and the spider sequences seem so realistic. I've actually tried watching it about 5 times, and I keep turning it off. It's not scaring me, but the realism of the bugs keep totally creeping me out on a visceral level. Eventually I'll get through the whole thing I guess, bust man, oh man, those frickin spiders really get under my skin.
I’m in shock Alien Romulus isn’t in your top 10!!!?!? Alien is in my top 3 of best movies overall, not just horror, this year. Loved it!!! And OMG Oddity isn’t your #2 or #3!?!? I can’t wait to see this top 10!!! I can’t even think what else, except The Substance which is my number one, would be left in a top 10 for this year? But I’m glad you at least mentioned them. Great video as always. 🌟
Holy smoke! Oddity didn't make your top 10. I thought it's one of the best like Alfred Hickok made a real horror movie. I can't imagine how good the top 10 are. Really enjoy watching your contents.
I've put off watching Immaculate since it looks so similar to First Omen, but you sold me. Funny, both Immaculate and Cuckoo have actors from Euphoria. Loved Hunter in Cuckoo.
The Lords of Misrule is the inside story of the Wicker Man it takes into the mystery of the villagers that's how I feel about it understanding it ,if you compare the two movies a compromises the Wicker man and explains a lot to The villages motivation
“Vintage Future Tech.” “Vintage. Future. Tech.” That is an oxymoron so profound, yet so perfectly apt in context that it makes my brain hurt. Well done.
Thank you for your service this yr Horror 🐐 I got a top 10 of 2024 (w/ 6 honorable mentions) & A top 10 new to me pre 2024 (w/ 9 honorable mentions) Releasing on my tweeder around new yrs
Oddity was a great movie. There were times when you had a pretty good idea of what was coming, but it didn’t diminish the chills! I continue to wonder, what led the creative forces behind the movie to name it, “Oddity!”. Bottom line, the movie spooked me out!!!
Late Night and Immaculate enjoyed both very much. Saw Immaculate after First Omen it was like my 1 and 1A this year. One movie not mentioned on either list but probably not a Horror movie was Maxxxine. That movie was incredible and someone who grew up in the 80’s. The nostalgia especially the New Coke machine was spot on. My only complaint was not including Laura Brannigan “Lose Control” in the end credits at least.
Dude just referenced Tool. I'll subscribe based on that alone ( plus the passion for horror is off the charts......love it) * wish longlegs was labeled a supernatural horror from jumpstreet....then I'd be more complementary at films end( I'm assuming it'll show on top 10). I'll definitely catch some of these I've never heard of.
I’ve seen 80% or so of your first two lists, and I’ve no argument with any of your choices. In fact, your recommendation is often the difference between waiting for streaming or going to the theater AND was the impetus for me to break during and subscribe to Shudder, for those I couldn’t see on the big screen. I anxiously await your overall top ten and your number one. It’s Night Swim, isn’t it? 🙂
Cuckoo was by far the best horror film of 2024. Each scene was a portrait and for the wide angle photographers, those wide angle scenes were so damn beautiful and again composed like a portrait. Cuckoo is my top pick for 2024. Tilman Singers the director I'm keeping an eye out for. His film Luz was by far his masterpiece.
2024 was such an incredible year for horror across subgenres. Body horror: The Substance Psychological Horror: Stopmotion, Speak No Evil Religious Horror: Immaculate, The First Omen, Heretic Serial Killer: Longlegs, Red Rooms Found Footage: Milk & Serial Supernatural: Oddity, Smile 2 Vampire: Abigail, Nosferatu Creature feature: Sting, Infested Sci-fi: Alien: Romulus I'd love to watch recommendation videos where you focus on a specific horror subgenre. Anyways, love to watch all your videos. Merry Christmas 🎉🎉
Yesss. These are all fantastic. I still haven't seen Milk and Serial. I trust its rad, but I'm saving it to savor when I'm not so discombobulated with holiday shenanigans and work and stuff. What a great year.
Great list!...if The Vourdalak doesn't make the best of list, I would say it is definitely worth an honorable mention...I might be so bold as to say it is even better than a certain other vampire movie
Most of these would make my top 10 list: Stopmotion, Oddity, Infested, Mads, Late Night, etc. so I’m really curious to see what made it to your top 10.
Lords of Misrule was pretty good. In that whole genre of Midsomer, Kill List, Final Prayer and a some others with the granddaddy of them all Wickerman. Always a good watch.
Wait...Oddity didn't make your Top Ten...?! Now I have no idea what's going to be there. Can't wait! Side note, I like "Must See" on the thumbnail, better than "F#(king" this, or "F*¿king" that. Have a nice Christmas, Everybody!
Yeah it’s just about trying to catch someone’s eye. Unfortunately that seems to get more clicks and that’s how I make a living. I wish it was just based on the quality of the video but only a very small part of that is what matters. The thumbnail is at least 80 percent what counts. Trust me it drives every creator on TH-cam insane
Fantastic list! With the exception of MadS, and the few I haven't seen (Cuckoo, Milk & Serial, and... uh... Alien Romulus), the rest are all Top 10 to 12 for me. I appreciate what MadS did, and love the start, but none of the characters clicked with me.
Long time lurker, first time commenting. Merry Christmas everyone. 💛
Well thank you for sliding out of the shadows :) Merry Christmas

I’m on the other side of the fence. Was just OK in my eyes. But that’s why this channel is great. Good discussions and different tastes and opinions.
If "Oddity" and "Infested" got honorable mention, I can't wait to see what IS on the top ten list!
I really did not see the appeal of "Oddity" whatsoever. It was horribly boring and mostly predictable.
Your Honorable Mentions are exactly where they should be - All very good, but not knock your socks off good. I was shocked that "Lord of Misrule" was included. I love this movie, and you're the only horror site that has brought it to the forefront. Great job once again, Kainan. Merriest Christmas to You!
This!? Is the honourable mentions?! Can wait for the top 10!
Thanks for everything! I watch best horror movies because of you! Respect!
Merry Christmas to K.B. and Everyone 🌲🎄🌲🎄🌲🎄🌲🎄🌲🎄

I appreciate this type of list. I find that the most interesting titles could be found here.

Im gonna watch Lord of Misrule tonight, right now! thanks 🤟🏻
Can't wait, SO excited for this!!!
The first Omen was much better than immaculate. Great video!!!
The little flesh puppet scenes in stop motion creeped me out like pressed into my couch creeped out almost how some scenes in mad god just have you froze with anxiety lol.
Kudos...passion and knowledge....i'll checking everything
❤🎅🏻🤶🏻🌲merry xsms ghost pirate have a great night.love all your movie list ❤

Hell yeah, bro! Almost 60k! Congrats.
Thank you 🙏 I’m really hoping I can hit it before the first. But it will be close 😂
Happy Christmas Pirate thanks for the list!
My eyesight is going bad so I tend to stay away from subtitles but infested was GREAT !! I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
I found "Milk & Serial" by accident and its trippy✌️🙏💜
I loved infested!
🕷️🕸️ && I love the music from this movie
I really liked Late Night. I'm a 70's kid.
I cant wait to see your top ten. If Oddity isn't in the top ten, im in shock cant wait to see what u pull in
This is a Great list I watched the 1st 7 movies on here and missed the last 3 I need to get around to watching Oddity mads and milk and cereal the 1st are all Great movies I don't scare easily but late night with the Devil Stop motion and infested all scared me and I loved it I would put Stung as another great spider 🕷️ movie of the year that scared me 😯 I'm looking forward to seeing your 10 Best of list and I hope you do a 10 worst of list this year and do reviews for Nosferatu and babygirl the new Nicole Kidman movie I need to know if there worth my money 💰😂 Merry Christmas ! 🎄🎁
Merry Christmas to you all and have a prosperous new year with great health strength and wealth🎉 cheers 🥂
I probably would have enjoyed more movies if I could have afforded to go to the theater. I have to wait for it to come on streaming
Yeah I definitely know that feeling, my recommendation is to pick one movie a month or so that you have the most confidence in seeing and see it at a matinee for $6 or there is also a website called advanced movies where you can see movies free in advance. It’s worth checking out at least
Check out Stremio
Great video as always. 🌟
Yeah it’s so hard to make these list cause really these were about 30 movies I loved this year
Great list!
I just watched milk and cereal last week and found out he also made The Chair, the best short horror film I've seen
Holy smoke! Oddity didn't make your top 10. I thought it's one of the best like Alfred Hickok made a real horror movie. I can't imagine how good the top 10 are. Really enjoy watching your contents.
Finally, someone who recognizes the Alfred Hitchcock influence. 👍
I've put off watching Immaculate since it looks so similar to First Omen, but you sold me. Funny, both Immaculate and Cuckoo have actors from Euphoria. Loved Hunter in Cuckoo.
True - they’re very similar but the last quarter of Immaculate make it worth the watch!
The first omen was better that movie will probably be on the top 10 movies
The Lords of Misrule is the inside story of the Wicker Man it takes into the mystery of the villagers that's how I feel about it understanding it ,if you compare the two movies a compromises the Wicker man and explains a lot to The villages motivation
If Alien, Infested and especially Late Night With The Devil didn’t make your top ten then I have to wait for your list!
“Vintage Future Tech.”
“Vintage. Future. Tech.”
That is an oxymoron so profound, yet so perfectly apt in context that it makes my brain hurt.
Well done.
Loved Oddity and MadS is one of my top ten of the year for all films, not just horror. Looking forward to seeing the ten you think topped them.
‘luv ur hosting’ 💯☘️💚’
‘Keep on keepin on’…
Thank you for your service this yr Horror 🐐
I got a top 10 of 2024 (w/ 6 honorable mentions)
&
A top 10 new to me pre 2024 (w/ 9 honorable mentions)
Releasing on my tweeder around new yrs
Happy holiday's!
Dude just referenced Tool. I'll subscribe based on that alone ( plus the passion for horror is off the charts......love it)
* wish longlegs was labeled a supernatural horror from jumpstreet....then I'd be more complementary at films end( I'm assuming it'll show on top 10).
I'll definitely catch some of these I've never heard of.
The reason they didn’t call it a Supernatural horror movies is because that would ruin the twist
Good lord, with all the talent in the honorable mentions what's left for the actual list?
@@TheDfin25 lol 👍
Happy Holidays!!!!🎅🎄😎
Yeah I really loved it too
If not for you, I would have never heard of Milk and Serial. Thanks. It's a good movie and I have seen it twice.
I'm terribly surprised that Last Night With The Devi isn't top 10. I would've guessed top 5. Looking forward to the 10 that beat it!
2024 was such an incredible year for horror across subgenres.
Body horror: The Substance
Psychological Horror: Stopmotion, Speak No Evil
Religious Horror: Immaculate, The First Omen, Heretic
Serial Killer: Longlegs, Red Rooms
Found Footage: Milk & Serial
Supernatural: Oddity, Smile 2
Vampire: Abigail, Nosferatu
Creature feature: Sting, Infested
Sci-fi: Alien: Romulus
I'd love to watch recommendation videos where you focus on a specific horror subgenre.
I'm waiting 😁
Absolutely SOLD on stopMotion simply for the TooL reference
Great list!...if The Vourdalak doesn't make the best of list, I would say it is definitely worth an honorable mention...I might be so bold as to say it is even better than a certain other vampire movie
Loved alienbRomulus !!!! 💯the ending human alien was like 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Most of these would make my top 10 list: Stopmotion, Oddity, Infested, Mads, Late Night, etc. so I’m really curious to see what made it to your top 10.
Loving anything with David Dastmalchian, even Dragula. Great list, not sure I could sit through Infested without scratching some skin off😂
"Cukoo" is crazy, I'm like huh?, still asking "Did Mom and Dad know?"
Lords of Misrule was pretty good. In that whole genre of Midsomer, Kill List, Final Prayer and a some others with the granddaddy of them all Wickerman. Always a good watch.
Wow!👍👍👍🤡🤡🤡 If movies like oddity and lord of misrule are honourable mentions,I wonder how your top ten looks like😮😮😮
Yeah it’s tough! There were only about 5 that had a locked spot but the others could have easily been switched with movies here.
Immaculate was sublime........I love me some happy endings........sniff........and about that ending: was the rock OK?
There's a few of these I was full sure would make his top ten.
Yeah me too lol until I started putting it together and I just couldn’t
I’m so hoping to find a gem…I haven’t seen. 🤞 hard when horror is only genre I’m entertained by. 🕊️
I think 2024 is the best year for horror ever. I had a top 30. All 8 out of ten or better.
Love you and your channel and your family here. Guys no disrespect intended. But sometimes we go DEEEEEP
Fantastic list! With the exception of MadS, and the few I haven't seen (Cuckoo, Milk & Serial, and... uh... Alien Romulus), the rest are all Top 10 to 12 for me. I appreciate what MadS did, and love the start, but none of the characters clicked with me.
I got Lowlifes on my list thanks 2 Ghost Pirate. Me & the wife love it
