Absolutely stunning vocals.. I say this from experience, dad was with the East York Barbershoppers for thirty years and mum was a Toronto Sweet Adelines also
kagilmore2 I am always wanting one of these types of songs..."my boyfriend is my Daddy now...and my brother is my uncle" etc. I would love to have even just part of your medley ...is it for sale? struggling to find this kind of funny song....I like this kind of humor.
two possibilities, either you spend a LOT of time looking at yourselves in the mirror, or, you don't. this demonstrates exactly the reason why music is meant to be an audial experience. sorry but it just looks like clowns singing.
I'm pretty sure music couldn't be "audial" [sp] only until around the early 20th century. Music was as much visual as it was audio for thousands of years. Actually, I can't think of a music genre that doesn't have a specific visual that goes along with it as well. You may have a preference for one type over another, but I don't believe calling these ladies "clowns" will further your enjoyment of any other genre, nor do I believe it will make people change their mind about Barbershop. Those kinds of comments can be very hurtful, even if you are only stating your opinion.
Actually, the origin of any singing came with dancing and a visual experience. The Sethoso language, and over 40 other languages, have one word for singing and dancing. This is, for informational purposes, "Ho Bina" in the case of the Sethoso. So to say that music is audial is contradictory of the very origins of singing. Oh, and try not to make points without any evidence. Or, at the very least, try to be considerate of the fact there are actual people singing. With feelings and, unlike you, an international gold medal. Shots fired indeed.
calvinthebarber sorry all you all that take this so personally., My comment regarding the exaggerated expressions of the "singers" stand. It looks like clowning. and regarding everyone that wants to keep saying music can only be appreciated if you can see a visual, that's sad. Maybe you should tell a blind person they can not enjoy or appreciate the music because they can not SEE the dance. My comment stands.
KevinKelly Jones To all those who say that music is audial, maybe you should tell a deaf person that they cant enjoy the pure emotion put into singing performances. Hypocrisy in it's purest form, weak argument.
I can’t get over the emotion they give out I can’t stop listening
I hope these gals are still going strong! Love them!
They are! Singing and teaching the Barbershop craft all over the world! h
They are headed to Japan 2023! No better ambassadors!

What's the name of the first song? And who is it arranged by?
It's sort of a mash-up, you see. A medley, as you might say, but with a twist.

That sounded a bit pitchy and extremely slide. Don't mind a bit but it sounds like broken sirens when u do that. but it was pretty good.
I agree. They were “pitchy” at times.
