  • Today we're getting into my favorite Tank Buster, the Cold Steel AD10! This is an excellent wide-production version of Andrew Demko's AD10. It operates beautifully but is a bear to disassemble; however, it can be done! Join me in the video to see more.

Man. Getting those aluminum liners jewelled and anodized blue would look sweet.

Damn! Had not even thought of anodizing them, that would look really nice

Love the AD10, Probably the most comfortable ergos on a med/large folder I've used. I still have the original hollow ground version. Thanks for video

Nice! Hold on tight to that one, pretty sure they'll never produce the hollow ground option again. Thanks for watching!

Good disassembly. I wonder if cold steel ever considered using billet aluminum for the liners. It would be a little more expensive and have some other manufacturing requirements but a much stronger reliable product would be the end game. Do you know of any other manufacturers that may use billet aluminum instead of titanium or steel for their liners?

Thanks, yeah I was reading up on billet aluminum after reading your comment and it seems like it would definitely be more robust. I sure don’t know of any folders that are using it now but it would be a great alternative to titanium

You reversed the washer installation on one side, was that intentional on your part?

Yes, the teflon washers should be meeting the blade on both sides, so it should go liner - bronze - teflon - blade - teflon - bronze - liner

Nobody told us what is inside or how the engineering is for a specific knife. I was thinking to get it but my country is too stick on getting a knife which is more than 5 inches overall length :(

Sorry to hear that! 5 inches overall is pretty darn small. I'll comment back if I can think of any good knives in that size range

That’s tough! Personally I like the AD10 more but I also have a 4 Max Scout and it’s awesome. If what you need is a tough hard working blade the 4 Max is just a little better

For a Cold Steel, I don't think it is considered big at all really. Lol. I edc a X2 Voyager with a 6 inch blade. Lol
