    So impressed with how you casually talk about modifying and building parts.

      Well I've been doing it for a while, I'd hope I know what I'm talking about 😁

    Watched the whole playlist of your bobber adventures and it was actually very entertaining and I learned stuff. Thanks for the content!

      Thanks! I try to make videos that are a little learning, a little entertaining, and a little of whatever else. Glad you liked them!

    I'm looking at buying my first bike right now. It's a '92 XV1100 bobber. The guy fell on hard times and will let it go for $750. I don't know bikes at all, but it look NICE. And for $750, I figure I can't really go wrong

    • @EvanWells07
      @EvanWells07  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah $750 isn't bad at all.

      @@EvanWells07 yours turned out sweet 🤘 wish I had mechanical skills. I imagine if I buy this 22 year old bike, I'll end up learning a thing or two whether I like it or not 😂. At least I can "borrow" some of your ideas 🤘

      @Indian_Outlaw_417 oh for sure there is plenty to learn. I had never been into motorcycles much until I picked this up, so even though I am a mechanic by trade, I still had to learn a fair amount about them.

    Do you have a link to those lights around the shocks? I'd love to adopt that idea if you don't mind.

      They are from eBay so the links are never good. If you search for switchback LED turn signal strip you will find a ton of options. I think mine are like 4-5" or something like that.

      Thanks! It is for sure. It's also a nice change of pace from what I usually play with.

    Thanks for sharing your story. I also have an 88 xv1100. I suspect i have a rusty reserve fuel tank. Your copper coil piping gives me ideas.
    Did you have to cap off the vent line (beside the main fuel line) under the main tank? And did you need to lightly flare the ends of the copper pipe to prevent leaks?

    • @EvanWells07
      @EvanWells07  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For the vent I just capped it since there is no reserve tank to vent anymore. On the copper line, I did give the ends the slightest amount of flare, but since there is no pressure on this side of the lines, it was more for my own piece of mind. Thanks for watching!

      @@EvanWells07 aahh, i get it. Fuel at the copper tube is being pulled rather than pressured. Thanks!

    • @EvanWells07
      @EvanWells07  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @samng3958 yep, no pressure. I still put a little tiny bit of a bump in the line just in case vibration or something would move it.

    Tell me your bike has been sitting a while without telling me (shows a metal scrap pile blocking it in). LOL. Cool switchback lights. Almost bike riding weather. Stay safe out there and keep the rubber down.

    • @EvanWells07
      @EvanWells07  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Lol yeah it was buried. I got in a few rides the other day, but it's getting cold again today and tomorrow. Supposed to be nice this coming weekend, but I will be out of town. Oh well spring will be here soon enough!

    How did you fasten your seat down?

    • @EvanWells07
      @EvanWells07  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The front of the seat (hinge) bolts to the gas tank mount. The rear is on the springs.

    So basically I’m fucked ahha if I don’t weld, the back fender is gonna be a bitch! The rest looks fairly simple

    • @EvanWells07
      @EvanWells07  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Lol you will need to do some welding if you want it all clean looking, but there are plenty out there that just chop it all up and leave it. Maybe a good time to get a welder and start practicing! The rest is fairly straight forward stuff. Nothing too crazy.
