  • **Edit August 29, 2017: this note comes very delayed. After reading, "How Emotions Are Made: The Secret Life of the Brain," by researcher and pioneer in neuroscience, Lisa Barrett Feldman, I have learned that the limbic system is complete fiction when it comes to modern neuroscience. Furthermore, the more viable constructionist view holds that emotions are constructed based on concepts in our brain based on experience. Thus, emotions are predictions, are concepts, we construct. Take these points as you will, as it's obvious the constraints and inaccuracies that now exist within my videos in anxiety. I highly recommend reading Feldman's book on emotion.
~sigh. I didn't expect it to become a contentious point whether the high-pitched recording of my voice is my real voice. It is not. I had sped up the video to shorten it for the sake of practicality and efficiency with no second thoughts as to whether it'd bother people (or please them).
A simple and brief explanation of the four common types of anxiety disorders. This doesn't mean that the other ones (like selective mutism and separation anxiety disorder) aren't important though. It'd be worth doing a bit of extra reading on these topics after the video.
In case someone might ask about it, I didn't include OCD or PTSD because the DSM-V (the "bible" on mental disorders) has opted to slot OCD and PTSD into their own categories. They are still placed right next to anxiety disorders to signify that there are similarities among them but they are unique enough to stand separately. :)
If you would like to delve further into what causes anxiety disorders or a simple explanation of what anxiety disorders are, check my other vids.
Please share to help break down mental health stigma!!!
    Thanks!
