    I'm here for the music. I don't even have a Voron.

    This video comes at just the right time for me. Last Saturday I finished my voron 2.4 r2 350mm operationally. I'm going to use these clips to mount the panels.

    These latches are brilliant. For the 3mm top panel with 1mm foam lining, I find the 3mm latch works best (it could even be a little tighter but it's good) so I'm guessing the 6mm latch should work well with the 3mm side panels with 3mm foam but I'll have to try it first to confirm. Thanks for making this video!

    Switched to using these for my front panel latches instead. They're awesome. Still using magnetic clips on the other panels for now but may switch all the way over eventually.

    Love them! Awesome work!

    @Th0mas2301 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Started out with using these for the front doors on my 2.4r2, because I wanted something simpler and "closer" than the stock handles. Since then I also switched the left and right side panels to these. Thought about installing them on the back as well, though the simplicity argument goes out the window as soon as the ERCF is done and mounted on the backside of the printer, which I'm working on right now.

      We will!
      Our complete builds will probably stay free of voice over since the manual pages explain this and we want them to appeal to any language.

    what type of filament is recommended for the latches? ABS? PETG?

    • @MapleLeafMakers
      @MapleLeafMakers  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We used ABS for all of it.

  • @mantissa64
    @mantissa64 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Any idea if these would work in PLA? Putting my 2.4 together now and obviously can't really print in ABS yet.

    • @MapleLeafMakers
      @MapleLeafMakers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They won't melt or anything, but I can't guarantee they will work as expected. PLA is much more stiff and brittle than ABS, it might make them difficult to open.

    • @mantissa64
      @mantissa64 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I might just double-sided tape some cardboard on for the initial prints to get the ABS latches out the door and everything bootstrapped. Just keep a fire extinguisher close by lol

      @@mantissa64 I've used masking tape to print all the non-pif parts for my v2 and it worked great!

    For some reasons, mine don't snap like yours do, nor do they hold the panel that tight. Is this normal ?

    • @MapleLeafMakers
      @MapleLeafMakers  ปีที่แล้ว

      There are several different thickness of these clips, you may want to step down a little bit to get it to snap and squish perfectly. I believe we used 4mm and 6mm but I don't remember for sure.

  • @drrobotsir
    @drrobotsir 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do they seal the panel well without corner clamps?

    • @MapleLeafMakers
      @MapleLeafMakers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      as long as you place them within a few inches of each corner they do a great job.

    I’ve built six different thicknesses of these and can’t get them to squish the insulation at any height.
    They’re so satisfying to snap tho. Lmao

    • @MapleLeafMakers
      @MapleLeafMakers  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thats unfortunate. I know we ended up printing almost every single size of them and keep them stored in a bit for 'feeling out' when we need to print new ones.

      There is a version of these clips for 1515 extrusion but theyre a bad choice for a v0, they leave gaps in places that the stock panel clips cover

  • @CamilleDeveveraux

    so the filament thing into the latch doesn't scream "I'll work for a long time" but I need to try that now cause it's clever nonetheless

      I thought the same thing but we haven't had any break yet, with 5 machines using them! It's very clever
