That's a cracking layout and i very much like what you have done so far . Its good to get a full tour of the layout and your thoughts behind it. Looking forward to more videos. Cheers Kev
Thanks for an interesting tour of the layout. The station area looks fine - wouldn't stress too much about the platform width! Very impressed with what you've accomplished so far given when you started. Look forward to more updates (just subscribed). Thanks again.
@@bradhinton7365 they are the ID backscene premium range. Finish is great and self adhesive but be careful, you only get 1 go at getting it right and straight as they’re very sticky!
Astonishing! Makes my H0 Union Pacific garage railway look primitive, The details, dedication besides the investment involved in stock and track are beyond me. Keep going Dave.
A very detailed description of your work and plans. It's always good to look back and criticise our own work but nothing's perfect and I'm in the same boat. I personally think the layout looks really good.
Wow, that's quite an impressive set up. Big fan of British-style layouts, they have had a huge impact on my own. Looking forward in keeping up with this channel.
Some shops where the station is in the railway arches would look very good with decor and signs, bus stop street lighting, even a entrance going into the station would look fab!! I’d also go for a Royal Mail shed as well if you have all the res/Royal Mail letters coaches and 47’s/67’s? Where the oil plant is I’d go for a 2-3 road oil terminal including pipes and overhead fire sprinkler system. 19x12ft is a ideal size as I’m playing with 20x20ft size myself so I’m happy to be an assistance and follow you as time goes by as well. 👍🏻
Epic job all round, station platform doesn’t look too narrow, extremely impressive. Emily Goodman livery and engineering train looks great in that scenery. All the best, Darren 👍👍👍
Great layout tout so thanks for that. It makes it easier to put things into perspective when watching videos. Nice idea for storing your stock, thanks for the tip, another trip to B&q atb Andy
Thanks Andy, i have to say that the stock storage units are one of the best investments made for the railway room. You would do well to put foam in them (haven't got round to this myself yet) to avoid the couplings being put under pressure when you open and close them, unless you're always really careful. :-)
Thanks for your comment, i think that when a piece of track or scenery is "re-done" several times then the natural result is better as you get colour and texture from what was there before. All in good time though...
Ref your squeaky floor boards; If you get some unscented talcum powder on the area, plus 2 to 3 inches passed at both ends. Place some sheeting on top and tape down, this will allow the talc to work its way into the join. Then when creak stops hoover excess up. hope this helps. Thanks for the layout tour. Stay safe
Thanks for the railway room tour Dave, interesting to see how you have the layout set up (baseboards, storage, modelling area, lighting etc). A 19ft x 12ft railway room ! I'll have a word with the Mrs but I think it'll be a resoundng "No chance" :) The scenic section is coming on well, nice work & i like the tile grout concrete, gives a realistic texture. All the best...............Andy
I simply love the earthquake sheep effect Dave, it's novel and quite stunning! Good job.. I'd scrap the station foreground road scene with the moving van/cars, these always looks rather silly and toy like to me, but hey, what do I know! How about putting in more lower train lines/terminus/yard/ to provide future interest and use?... Or ,the creme de la creme, a grizzly abattoir scene to process those dead sheep! Seriously, a great layout and I enjoy your videos, thanks Dave. Regards Julian
Haha, those blasted sheep, all they want to do is lie down in the sunshine by the window, I guess it's better than them eating the static grass! I have considered ripping out the drop down section, I've also considered reducing the number of tracks etc. I know it is a model railway but if all the baseboard is covered in track then there is a lack of perspective and scene creation. The solution is out there and i may put the visions i have down on paper and share them in a future video to get further feedback from the experts :-)
Great video love the layout this has too be one of the tidiest layout I’ve seen 😂😂😂😂 love the fiddle yard I’ve been thinking about my fiddle yard but as you have put some of your rolling stock in boxes great idea may copy that my self the amount of times I’ve built my layout is unreal but I’ve started my new layout and at the Mo I started to build my tmd yard am not rushing it this time 😂😂😂😂 great video Thanks Paul
Thanks Paul! The hills are scrunched up newspaper/packing material with a layer o mod roc and then smoothed over with sculptamould. I then paint with Vallejo texture paint and finally several layers of static grass.
Hi Dave, just subscribed to your channel. Excellent layout! Love the detail and the techy stuff! (not my forte unfortunately. Im new to the hobby, down here in Perth, Western Australia, so watching your channel is so helpful! One question...the BP tanker you have there, is that an Oxford Diecast item? Trying to get my hands on one down here, without much success. Regards Stephen
Hi Dave, like you I come from electronics background and although my layout isn't quite as big as yours I also haven't littered every rail section with feeds. It's just not necessary, and I'm sure the many videos showing that turn lots of people off the hobby.
Hi Ken, I think they are standard Hornby buffers with the Train Tech buffer lights. There are a couple of the Accurascale buffers in the depot too. Hope this helps and thanks for the sub! 👍 Cheers, Dave
Hello. Great Video. The Layout Looks Excellent. Take Care. Cheers Andy.
Nice update, good video 👍.
Greetings Gert
Really enjoyed the layout overview with a nice running session at the end! Cheers Gary

Thanks, think i've finally managed to work out a plan for the station area, will do a another video soon with the plan...
@@GoodfordModelRailway Look forward to that. BTW, and apologies if you've mentioned it in previous videos, what backscenes are you using?

A great update, lovely to see the whole layout. Depot looks impressive. Keep up the great work. All the best David
Wow, that’s a wide collection of sheds! I wouldn’t say ‘excessive’, you can never have too many!
Layouts looking fantastic, attention to detail is spot on, an enjoyable tour, cheers Darrell

I always enjoy a good layout tour, it looks amazing, even more so that its such a "young" layout! very nice

Genius, together with a few strategic whacks with a hammer there are no longer any squeaky floorboards. Thanks very much! 👍
I do love your layout its quite stunning in my eyes .this is the type of layout i want to make in the future
Thanks and in that case I hope you manage to get the opportunity to build it and share it.

Thanks for your kind comments, Paul. I have to admit, I did have a little tidy up before doing the video! Haha 😂
For the hills, can I ask what you used please? Great layout you have there.

Thanks for your kind comment Stephen. The BP tanker is indeed an Oxford Diecast item (SHL01TK), hope you manage to find one soon.
