Thanks for watching the video everyone! I've made a part two where I uncover the cancelled season 5 script, comics and sets! th-cam.com/video/pJTiWLNq4yY/w-d-xo.html
Really great video but I remember that there were next knight books that came with a mini fig that I think were a waste of time and money for lego and that may have been a factor to next knights downfall
To be fair, I think villains like Monstrux that reincarnate in various new forms and just never seem to die are appealing, but what really bugged me was him zapping Jestro evil again for the second year. Jestro goes through so much development at the end of the second season, and then WHOOPS! All gone next episode. It just feels dirty. Makes his eventual redemption in the third year's sets all the more satisfying. I would've loved to see a confrontation in a fifth season between Jestro and essentially his former abuser, given the then YEARS of history that would've built up to it. And the entire appeal/conceit of the tech monsters is they finally dropped the swords and sorcery junk they'd been falling back on for most of the theme, stopped resisting the advance of time, and embraced the futuristic powers that's given the knights their edge, FINALLY giving them an opponent that truly felt evenly matched, if not overpowered. It seems like the perfect way to end the theme.
Shame we never got to see it. I saw the tech version of Monstrux and it was so awesome seeing Monstrux even the playing field with Merlock by also becoming a magic digital wizard. Shame it never became an animated season.
It's a shame since in the 5th season he would've been good and that season could've been amazing but sadly lego did what they did, even though the trailer was released
The true ending was in comics they put in Nexo Knights magazine. but those magazines were released in Europe as far as i know. I have that issue and it has a good ending for nexo knights where they defeat that digital virus monstrux.
Before i didnt really care too much about the show. But when i watched it it was actually really good. The sets are amazing with great builds. Im still sad Nexo Knights ended as it was getting pretty intersting towards the end.
Thank you for reminding me that Nexo Knights existed. I still remember how I religiously watched the show at my father's house. It's unfortunate that it ended because it was so fun.
Watching these Lego videos makes me realize just how much Lego struck gold with Ninjago. I say that because with themes like Chima or Nexo Knights, yeah they’re cool, but there’s so many sets featuring ANIMAL and KNIGHT before people aren’t interested in buying the sets, which is a death sentence for a Lego show. Meanwhile Ninjago basically created a world where anything can exist, which allows for extremely varied sets. While Chima and Nexo Knights cornered themselves with being only about anthropomorphic animals or fighting knights, while with Ninjago it is so varied that it has already had many anthropomorphic animals figures and a kingdom full of knights wouldn’t feel out of place in a show like itself. Just shows how flexible it is compared to nearly every other Lego theme.
Ninjago is quantity vs quality. China was niche but it had in-depth worldbuilding because it actually invested in the character's cultures and lifestyle, instead of throwing random, unrelated character tropes for kids to build. (Not talking about TV shows, just sets).
Honestly I wouldn’t mind a revival if there were to be added to the ninjago realm as separate dimensions fused into the main realm of the ninja we see the knights against some of the other evil characters from other shows and they team up with the ninja and china crew for an episode we know chima is cannon to ninjago even the bad guys from the latest season are from there wouldn’t be so far fetched
@@levievil9220 How is Chima canon to Ninjago? Where there some crossover thing that I didn't see or forget about? Also given Ninjago's schtick about other dimensions what if we add alternate universes too to let Nexo Knights in.
@@mariustan9275 Ninjago fans don't know what easter eggs mean. Please don't take the Merge seriously, it's just fanservice for the Ninjago fans who feel bad for hating on Chima. Ninjago and Chima are two whole separate themes and were never made to be together. Take Ninjago theories about Chima with a grain of salt, it's just forced fanservice
Thanks for making this in depth video. Nexo Knights is, and always will be my favourite Lego theme because of nostalgia, and i think it needs to be talked about more often! (Oh, and Stone Clay is my favourite Nexo Knights minifigure)
Man I love this video. It gave me that other kind of Nostalgia. I used to grind that mobile game so much and I also had that Lego set 1:45. Ngl pure childhood memories you dug up there brother ❤.
Damn, this was hidden really really deep inside my memories. I remember watching the first season of the show when it came out. Don’t remember much about it though 😅
Thank you for the Video. I Never understood the whole topic around the Show and Sets but your Video made everything clear and got me feeling nostalgic again. Well done!
I miss this series sm. I was a HUGE ninjago fan but Nexo Knights really got me at season 3. Sadly it just got really interesting at season 4 when it ended :(
I loved the game when I was 6. I have legos of it. I hate that it's gone. I had a book for goodness sake. I also loved chima and still love ninjago. Thank you for these videos.
Main thing I love so much about nexo knights is how much functions everything had. First off you had the shields, which collecting and scanning was so satisfying. Then you have the army-like figures (this isn’t Nexo Knights exclusive ofc) which were so fun to play with. But the biggest strength it had is how much the machines could do. Take Clay’s car for example. It could shoot, it had a spot for all three characters, the shield and sword, and seperating into two cars for the robots and a plane for Clay. Nexo Knights is very unique in that way and I miss it
I remember a lot of people being bummed about the fact that they never used any of the other monster types for the toys and tv show. A lot of promotional material included sea and swamp monsters to go along with the lava ones.
I recently rebuild jestros evil mobil and its actualy kinda awsome . The design is cool , and when you turn the red wheel , the mouth opens and closes and the blades in the middle spin
HUGE thanks for this video. I was in love with the show and the legos, i own a couple sets and even the book (yes, they made a book, it was like going deeper into the lore of the main antigonist, with a lot of pictures and a very nice design)
1:58 out of all the sets i believe i only owned the jester’s sumn mobile. Great set, i remember when i got it for christmas from my father b4 he went to prison😅
There was actually a small storyline to the last sets though it only exists in the lego magazins by blue ocean: Monstrox returned in digital and they had to find a special set of powers to beat him. Sadly, it never got past the introduction…
I was obsessed with this show, I loved collecting the shields and watching the show! I bought the book that explained the monsters and I was in love with nexo knights as a kid.
Great video about arguably lego's best original series of recent years. One thing you didn't mention though that i remember vividly: they released the book of monsters from the first season and then also a season 2 variant as actual books. Maybe this wasn't in every country, idk, but i do have both of them in my own language and i think they were really well-made and a big part of why i enjoyed the series so much
I was obsessed with nexo knights back in the day and picked up so many sets. I got the whole of wave 1, missed out on 2 sets each from waves 2 and 3, 1 from wave 4 and all of wave 5 meaning I have a large substantial collection and tonnes of awesome minifigures from the theme. I love the theme so much that I produce videos about it, granted they're music videos but still. This theme still holds a special place in my heart and getting the Fortrex set on my birthday was what really cemented this theme with me and why I'm trying to complete my collection. However there's one problem: I'm broke from buying Ninjago.
I loved the theme, and so did my parents that i used to watch it with. I don't remember if i had any sets, but i did have almost all of the power-up "Ultimate" figures, and i still have both of "Ultimate" Clay's arms lying around
I played a LOT of the nexo knights video game when I was younger. It was honestly really fun. There were fully fleshed out boss fights, mechs, and vehicles.
I loved nexo knights, I have so many memories with my old best friend playing with the mobile castle he got for Christmas. I remember the sword charger in the castle when it turned from orange to blue. It feels like yesterday
0:57 Not all. My Barnes and Noble in 2016 still had the entire theme in stock. I managed to get Scorm's Scorpion Stinger. But the next time I went there , it was all gone.
I really liked Lance's Tri-bike from the second season. Just the ability for it to open up into a "jet" and then still be able to deploy a bike. Additionally, I thought it was very cool being able to combine the battle suits with the hero vehicles from that wave.
I loved loved loved this theme so incredibly much, I was 9 when it came out and was my absolute favorite theme at the time. I still have the big castle on display in my room, genius set!
I have the castle (unfortunately it’s been damaged but I added a lot of plants to make it look abandoned) But me and my brother watched a little bit of the series and we stopped because the villains and plot was almost all the same. The sets are still cool and if there’s any still being sold somewhere, I’d try to at least buy another one
Its kinda sad remembering how i and my old friend brought those shields to school so we could scan each others shields we didnt have, and play that game after school. But now its just a fun memory among others.
I loved the videogame, and every time I was with my parents in the store, I always would ask them to buy me one, just to get new shields for the videogame
8:19 The Lego Nexo knights magazine series told the story planned for season 5, it had alot of conflict, and from what I can gather seemed like a good story for the theme, I'm not sure why it was cancelled.
And it was ended because it didn't go with multiple tropes! Is it so wrong to concentrate only on one trope and develop a world primarly instead of stacking multiple tropes and doing worldbuilding as an after thought? I love Ninjago but we were robbed when they cancelled Nexo Knights
I remember playing that game when I was pretty young. I ended up borrowing my sisters phone, then searching up images of all the shields so that I could scan them.
I would love it if you would do an episode on Lego kingdoms if you haven't already. I absolutely loved it, but I'm pretty sure I got discontinued a while ago and all the sets are ridiculously expensive. The Lego castles thing they did after was also pretty cool but not nearly as good imo and I'm pretty sure that also got discontinued
The story actually did partially continue in some comics, i remember something like clay jumping into a hole, and finding monstrux, then defeating monstrux, and then everyone got the power of merlock and then... it just ended. That was just ONE comic, so it did last longer, but that is the end as far as i could remember.
The script for the first episode of season 5 was technically finished. But sadly, we closest thing we got was some magazines which were not like the planned original story, it was just made smaller and most of the interesting stuff cut out to put it in those magazines. You can actually find the script for the first episode in the internet pretty easily since it was posted on Twitter by Tommy Andreasen and is also able to be found in the fandom Nexo Knights wiki.
Nexo was kinda fun. I only got like what, a catapult? But the concept of medieval cybernetic contraptions and power summoning shields is kind of an interesting concept.
I LOVED Nexo Knights. I was eartbroken when the mobile game shut down because I genuinly liked it. The sets where awesome and the story just like. I also loved Ledgends of Chima and often mourn the fact that they where dicontinued. I never fell for ninjago for some reason and I found it sad that it would continue while my favourites dissapered.
I for one loved this theme! It got me back into LEGO (obviously I was a space and castle 90s / early 2000s kid). I really had high hopes for it, and I would love to see them introducing some of these back into Ninjago like they did with Chima's Lord Ras. Regarding villain sets not selling, not sure why. I always liked the villain sets more. Fair I loved the Fortrex most - BUT right after that, are jestro's castle, magmar's siege engine thingy, and the green villains sets from the last wave).
I loved this show, at 1:44 that's the only physical reminder for me that it did existed. I can't find the show online, at least for the low-low cost of free
While there were no TV-shows for the virus season anymore, there were LOADS of comics. Like, at least 20. And they're all conected with eachother! Just letting you know!
love that show ngl game when I was younger was great. There was just something about waking up and putting the show on whenever it was and scanning they little shields that would pop up then getting to use them in the actual game 😭
I loved Nexo Knights when i was younger, i had 6 or 7 sets dont remenber and everyiday i would whatch the show with my friends and i had both of the books, Nexo Knights left the impact on me that Ninjago left on alot of other kids
I have every set that was available in the US. Multiples of some of them. There are a couple of foil packs/etc that were released in Europe but I didn't think they were worth the shipping. I LOVE this theme. I have BIG plans to create new waves based on the Book of Monsters, but I need a 3d printer first, and I need a way to print. I need to finish getting my kids through school first so it will have to wait. 100% going to do it though.
Thanks for watching the video everyone! I've made a part two where I uncover the cancelled season 5 script, comics and sets! th-cam.com/video/pJTiWLNq4yY/w-d-xo.html

Regarding villain sets not selling, not sure why. I always liked the villain sets more. Fair I loved the Fortrex most - BUT right after that, are jestro's castle, magmar's siege engine thingy, and the green villains sets from the last wave).
This is so extremly nostalgic for me....
NEXO KNIGHTS IS THE GOAT!!!!!!
That theme and game was my FAVORITE as a kid!!!!!
Best thing about nexo knights?
That intro theme
I loved next knights honestly, I even had the jester castle set, it was my fav
I loved Nexo Knights when i was younger, i had 6 or 7 sets dont remenber and everyiday i would whatch the show with my friends and i had both of the books, Nexo Knights left the impact on me that Ninjago left on alot of other kids
I'm not sure about the series but not gonna lie, they have some of the best minifigures in Lego.
Day two of asking you to cover the connected Lego universe
Nexo Knights was such a cool concept, shame it didn't last long
I have every set that was available in the US.
