Do you think that the Lego avatar (james cammeron) theme is cancelled? Or do you think new sets will come out next year with Avatar : Fire and Ash releasing?
I feel like early 2000s lego had too many unique things that we didn't get the chance to appreciate them but now there are too little unique things with most ideas being thrown into city or ninjago sets
I really liked it in the first season, but the second felt like exactly the same just in different colours, which, looking at the minifigures, isn't too wrong
Nexo Knights was all the rage when i was younger with my friends, we all wanted all the tiles for the shields. The egyptian theme looks like something i woulda loved too. Great video!
The tiny scarab attack set from pharoahs quest was actually one of my favourite sets as a kid and one of the first ones I re-bought once I got back into lego. So small and so simple but just so perfect.
Definitely bummed they cancelled the Monster Fighters... you could have such a great annual set if they had kept that. I also loved the Nexo Knights and have all the Ultimate versions of the main heroes, and created my own Orange version of an ultimate hero.
@@saschafeld5528 one type of classic monster yes... but different scenarios you can place them in, to include a CMF style. they do the same thing with XWings. Plus you have to think of the iterations you can do of say Frankenstein's monster, or how many different versions of a vampire you have.
To be perfectly honest, they're all underrated for one reason: We couldn't afford them as kids, now we wish we had them all if only they were still sold. And, a sadder reason: They sparked joy when we were children. A spark that few recent sets can ignite as adults, simply because they are designed to appeal to kids. As such, new sets don't appeal to me where the old, and technically hit-or-miss designed sets do.
You really unlocked some core memories for me with Galaxy Squad and Ultra Agents. I hadn't seen them for years and forgot that these themes exist and now suddenly the old memories of them came back through your video.🔥
I grew up reading the lego catalogues without being able to afford sets and galaxy squad always made me dream. With atlantis, ultra agents, hero factory, chima and nexo knights, those were all the lines that made my childhood
My grandpa bought pretty much all Monster Fighters sets ever released for me and my brother. Yes, we own the haunted house, castle, ghost train, cemetery, etc. I mean I seriously doubt there's one we don't have. The total worth is probably about $1000 now! But they are worth so much more to us, we played with them and used them to make stop-motion videos which can still be watched here on TH-cam, but we made them while in elementary school and they are kinda cringe lol. But we still love them. I plan to keep them throughout my life and never sell them. They should really bring that theme back! I also had some small Chima sets still there at my grandparents' house. They are in a large plastic tub at the bottom of a big stack of LEGO, since we stopped playing with them years ago and I haven't even opened that container in years. I remember watching the Chima show and being mildly entertained by it as a kid. It never held as special of a place in my heart as Monster Fighters though. I wonder if I would ever want to sell them... Please make a vid on all the Monster Fighters sets if you haven't already!
@@grotty9850 Same! Bionicle and Exo-Force are the coolest themes Lego has ever created, imo. I also loved Aqua Raiders, Power Miners, Mars Mission, Agents, Space Police III, Fantasy Era Castle, Pirates, Pharaoh's Quest, Atlantis, Racers, and a few more I won't go on about. But Bionicle and Exo-Force were the best by far, imo. These Ninjago mechs lack the charm, uniqueness, freshness, and iconic designs Exo-Force mechs have. Nowadays, Lego only releases mechs in themes they've beaten down and sucked dry, and all of those mechs are overdesigned, lacking character.
I'm actually tired of ninjago. I have no problem withe theme itselfe and it is clearley a Popular theme but I'v just grown tired of it. Monster Fighters and Powerminers were awesome. Pharaos Quest was great too, even though in my opinion it is far inferior to the Adventurers Theme that released 1998. Never cared much for Nexo Knights, Galaxy Squad or Ultra Agents. They were not my cup of tea, but I wont deny that there are some great sets among them, for those who enjoy these sorts of themes. Hero Factory was just a placeholder while they finish Bionicle and tried (and tragically failed) to reboot it. Hero Factory was cool, but it should he mentioned that it's Bionicle's inferior in every conceivable way.
These aren’t cancelled or failed themes. This is what LEGO has done for most of its themes. Limited runs over a few years. Almost every space, castle, pirates subtheme has done this. Ninjago is the anomaly.
Hero factory was one cancelled theme for example. We were supposed to get a crazy plot twist to completely change around the theme with a way more complex and involved story. Everything was in place until the whole invasion from below (which wasn't bad in itself, jjst had a lot of faults) thing
I remember getting the Lego club and the Lego catalog for many, many years when I was little. I still the binder with just about every magazine from 2007 (maybe 2006?) to like 2015, 2016. I honestly wish I would have kept getting them
@user-us7el6ss2l Nope, I grew up with Bionicle Gen 1. Nothing wrong with being a kid. I just thought your comment was a bit funny. Maybe it's a sign I'm getting old.
I actually have a Nexo Nights book with an exclusive Merlock figure, and poster. I first got the book at Bealls and when looking inside, I really wanted the sets, but then I learned that the theme was actually cancelled :( . I really wanted that Ultimate Clay set
I like to give a mention to LEGO BIONICLE 2016 while not as amazing as the original 2001 run it was a much easier take on BIONICLE to get into for newcommers each of the Toa actually looked different and the parts they used were much easier to mix and match than the older ones
It's so sad most of the Bionicle fandom didn't give Gen 2 a chance to grow. Yes, it started off very simple in terms of plot and set design (sets still looked amazing, though). However, it seemed they were listening to feedback before its premature cancelation. It also didn't help that a lot of kids nowadays see Technic and CCBS and say, "that's not _real_ Lego." Such a shame.
I remember Monster Fighters, Pharaoh’s Quest, and Nexo Knights. It’s sad that they were discontinued but at least Lego city isn’t going anywhere. That is a classic.
Most of these sets released when I was a kid. We couldn't really afford them, so I would just sit and salivate over the brochures that were released twice a year with the new sets and that I'd pick up in a local toyshop - I could literally spend hours like that, imagining how cool would it be to play with those legos. Oh, the good days XD
Pharoah's Quest was PEAK. I was lucky enough to own all six sets and since I knew nothing about the "official" lore for the theme, I made up my own convoluted lore where each of the golden pieces had its own magical power and the protagonists were constantly in battle with the mummies for control of the magic. The giant stone creatures made for some epic battles, especially with all the old timey vehicles and weapons the protags had. I definitely got a kick out of the unique baseplate, I wish Lego would make more stuff like that
Power Miners was the goat, the exitement i had as a kid when i got Crystal King as a christmas present to go along with my Thunder Driller and Crystal Sweeper. I still have them now, some 14-ish years later. We even had Rock Raiders for the Playstation
Monster fighters will always hold a place in my heart, I used to use the 2010s Batman sets and make them fight the monsters. Absolutely loved the sets as a kid
@@Brickster200 Yes youngling, the 90’s was a wonderful era for us Lego Maniacs, yet there are still yet older themes! Not my fault the far off YEAR TWO THOUSAND~ is behind us rather than in front!

I have something to say abput each of those themes and they each have a warm place in my heart but Pharaoh's Quest is something ELSE. You see, English isn't my first language. When I was a kid, we had an assignment in english class to make a PowerPoint presentation in english about anything we want and MEMORIZE it BY HEART. I chose to make mine on the Pharaoh's Quest theme. I absolutely KILLED it, I remembered everything like a parrot imitating sounds and not knowing what they mean, and I think this was a very important milestone in my english-learning process. Also, I own the Scarab set, the Cursed cobra set and the Sphinx set, but I've always dreamed to get the Pyramid scorpion set (I never did).
Oh my goodness that is so cool! I think you should definitely buy the Pyramid set if you've got some money to spare since it sounds like it was such a pivotal part of your English-language journey! Thanks for the comment!
As someone who grew up with BOTH Rock Raiders and Power Miners, I have nostalgia for RR but overall i think PM executed the concept of miners vs rock monsters better.

LOL very true ahah. I think I saw he was in the image and figured you'd be able to see his leg lol. If you look up reviews of the Vampire Hearse set, you should be able to find J2G's review where they show off the figure in more detail!
I would love to have all the Nexo Knight sets, but didn't have the money for em. :( I do love most of the older sets cause of their themes and the transparent/neon parts they had.
I actually own most of the Monster Fighters sets, besides the Vampyre Castle & Haunted House. I also recently bought the Pharaoh's Quest Scorpion Pyramid off of Bricklink.
If Lego wanted to both make a lot of money and make a bunch of their older fans, who grew up on these themes happy they would do an icons release kinda thing. Like imagine if once a year, every year we got a reasonably large set that was either a remake or reimagining of these classice themes. If they made a new power miners, atlantis, space police, Agents set it would sell incredibly well AND would be so amazing to see it with updated pieces and building techniques. PLUS it would be a love letter to what lego once was. kinda in the same vain as ideas but souly based on sets from this era. They did a classic space and castle set, why not a power miners set?
I think the rational was that kids would connect more with a theme if they were there from the beginning. Which is why you would get a space theme or an underwater theme or a mining theme, that were all essentially the same thing. Some humans in some sort of protective gear would fight some monster race for crystals. There would be 2 or 3 waves over a two year period then the kids could get all hyped up for the exciting "new" theme replacing it.
There is something very unique about the early 2010's lego themes. Lego has really lost it's way when it comes to making original themes. I feel like there is too much focus on non-original themes. These original themes like galaxy squad ooze of pure creativity and it sucks there aren't many creative ideas for original themes nowadays.
Please take a look at LEGO EXO FORCE. So many unique parts and Hair pieces. The villians were also so awsome. And they did a cool homage to the theme in the new released 60421.👍
I remember having the monster fighters one because of the unique shape of the crystals and galaxy squad reminds me of the oldest alien set called alien conquest best old alien sets
Oh shoot, I think I actually had a Galaxy Squad set! I never did built it though, I sent the box to my brother. I think it was the big one with the giant bug.
I have 3 super miners sets. And i still have them in my shelf… i remember buying this because of a lego movie, i dont remember the name but i still remember the movie

I loved Monster Fighters, I had the castle as well as the hearse, swamp monster, frankenstein lab & mummy chariot, I sadly never got the ghost train
The lack of Dino attack in videos like this is a crime against humanity.
Ultra Agents were so good! All of these were so good
Not spoke about in the video, but Lego exo force was one that I miss
How don’t you have 1 million subs
Man Monster Hunters was cool af. Loved the theme even though I only ever bought the swamp set (was a broke kid at the time lmao)
Ultra agents wad really good. The villains were quite rheumatic and colorful
My main problem with newer lego stuff is that they have a lot of parts that have very limited uses.
Classic space is not boring. It is perfect in every way!!!!
There is something very unique about the early 2010's lego themes. Lego has really lost it's way when it comes to making original themes. I feel like there is too much focus on non-original themes. These original themes like galaxy squad ooze of pure creativity and it sucks there aren't many creative ideas for original themes nowadays.
Nexo Knights and Ultra Agents were honestly so underrated.
I would love to buy a lego power miners set again. that theme was my childhood
Please take a look at LEGO EXO FORCE. So many unique parts and Hair pieces. The villians were also so awsome. And they did a cool homage to the theme in the new released 60421.👍
Galaxy squad and power miners were cold
These are cool themes but elves not being here is a crime.
4:48 bro I had this as I kid and I lost it 😭😭😭😭
lego needs to take the castle knights factions and give them a 1800s-early 1900s theme to them.
Monster Fighters and Legends of Chima returning and I´m broke
I remember having the monster fighters one because of the unique shape of the crystals and galaxy squad reminds me of the oldest alien set called alien conquest best old alien sets
Ultra agents, monster fighters and power miners needs to come back
Oh shoot, I think I actually had a Galaxy Squad set! I never did built it though, I sent the box to my brother. I think it was the big one with the giant bug.
The galaxy squad theme makes me remember Max Steel!
Power miners and space police
2010s Lego cooked so hard with their new themes but now we get monkie kid and dreamzzz and that’s what stays
I have 3 super miners sets. And i still have them in my shelf… i remember buying this because of a lego movie, i dont remember the name but i still remember the movie
I wish we could get more Egyptian stuff or olympian stuff
