Call of Duty Warzone is a benchmark I always like to see because it can be competitive and that makes the FPS more important. Other games I play would be Arkham City and Jedi Fallen order, but low frame rates on those aren't as big of an issue because you're only playing against the environment and npcs. Nice build by the way! That's a lot of cores!
I've ordered over 100 SSDs from Aliexpress at this point. All of them have been great, even tho they are the most budget SSDs I've seen. Still, after 1-2 years, none of the SSDs that I bought have died (to my knowledge at least). Their cheap coolers are also really great value.
Just finished a Budget build myself for my GF when she vitis me at my place. Your videos always help and are very interesting ! Keep up the great work !
Appreciate the consistent video uploads. I had to put my dog down yesterday and am having a difficult time adjusting. Your videos help take my mind off of losing my pal. Thanks.
One cool thing about x99 is these aliexpress motherboards can have the all core turbo enabled with a little bios hack and x99 supports quad channel ram. Also there is a bios hack to enable Smart Access Memory on some of these boards.
I built with an X79 kit from aliexpress a little time ago, got an e5 2650 V2, motherboard and 2x8gb ram very cheap, paired it with a GTX 1070 I bought locally and it performed very well, no issues at all.
Just finished a budget gaming build using mostly all Ali Express parts (except SSD & PSU). Machinist mobo combo with a Xeon 26xx and 16gb single channel memory. Also used an Ali Express RX580 8GB 2048 that you have recommended in past. Went with DIYPC case (you also recommended) with fixed LED fan lighting, which worked perfectly for the young kiddo I did the build for. Works flawlessly and performance/heat dissipation of the Xeon CPU is good (using inexpensive Ali Express single fan tower cooler). Can play eSports games and some AAA titles at 1080p High or Med settings and get very playable FPS. You guys make awesome recommendations for the low end, much appreciated!!!!!
Single channel ram is something you should change as soon as you can, that combo can run quad channel and it really makes for a better gaming experience ;)
I love machinist, I'm using my RS9 E5-2698 v3 64154 MB ECC RAM GTX 1080 Ti rig right now and it's my favorite build I've made although I got all my parts from ebay.
I daily drive a e5 2670 v3 takes a bit of effort but you can modify the bios to do a boost unlock getting around 20% more CPU performance my rig was definitely cheaper including tax I paid just over 350 the 2670 and rx5700xt 32gb quad channel it's great for gaming and having them 12 cores it's pretty good for cad and photo/video editing on a budget
I really like the 2060 super as an option over the standard 2060 as it's got 8gb vram over standard 2060 6gb of vram. Gives your card that little bit more vram if you want to play triple A games. Yes there's a 12gb 2060 but I'm not sure the 2060 is actually powerful enough to use that vram. Love the new cases that have come out from antec, and it's the kind of case I would buy. I remember buying from them back in the early 2000s, good to see they are back.
In terms of games, I think you need to step a little beyond the whole FPS genre and run some types of games that stress systems in different ways, like driving sims, simulation titles, RPGs and RTS's. Some titles that are more CPU dependent would be interesting. From a personal perspective I sim race a lot in VR, so some integration with VR driving or flight sims would be interesting test, the limitations there may be more on the VR hardware but from a buyers perspective I would like to know if a system is capable of pushing the VR headset to it's limit in Rfactor2, AMS2 or AC.
Rainbow Six Siege is getting popular again and i think it would be the ideal game to benchmark. Its an Esports title which makes it easy to run, but still challenging enough to really test some systems. Itll do great for budget builds like this
I've been tempted to get one of those x99 combos just for fun. Since you asked, i'm honestly not into the e-sports titles y'all benchmark. My lineup consists of more survival RPGs like Starfield, Ark or 7 days to die. That said, the beauty of the e-sports titles is that they're perfect for the budget builds y'all do.
Really nice build, i paid 100$ extra but get 2680v4 32 gb ram and 6700xt i didnt expect it to be so good, its builded more like htpc, but when my daughter goes to bed its forza time, and its really can handle that, really good 😊
I do have the same cpu and man is it a nice one. For the cpu, a similar motherboard(but white) and 64 gb ddr4 ram I paid only 70 euros. Like it's crazy how good the cpu is for such a price!!!
i’ve been trying to get my parents to get me a pc for awhile but they always said it cost to much so i’d have to save up and this video is the reason they are gonna give me the money to build it 🎉🎉🎉
Games I would recommend to benchmark are Starfield, F1 23, Hogwarts Legacy, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and games to be released in the near future GTA VI, Ark II, Ghost-runner 2, and Alan Wake 2
Running a similar Machinist x99 setup, you can get a better price on cpu and motherboard if you shop them individually, I'm on a xeon E5-2680 V4 and you really should get 4 ramsticks to use the quad channel that the cpu and motherboard is capable of. Mine is paired with a Radeon rx5700xt, also great bang for you buck GPU since many where used for mining but are still good.
@@THiNK103088 It's been great, playing Starfield in 1440p, the rx5700xt tends to want to run hot so fresh paste on the gpu and good airflow is a must. If you got the non xt rx5700 a firmware flash should get you the same performance. The cpu has room to spare since the gpu is pegged at 97-100% when 1440p gaming and the cpu is more like 30-50% in use. For 1080p you should be able to run most games at max settings ;)
I love your guys videos so much! literally my favorite youtube channel. It would be so cool if you guys ca test out mwIII if the PC is capable to. Thanks!

I just finished building my own budget aliexpress build. X99, xeon 2670 v3, 16 gigs of ram and rx 6650 xt. The only problem is that the VRM's on the motherboard are very hot so I had to install heatsinks on them. A lot of people are gonna be having problems with those for sure. Oh and two out of the four RAM slots are dead, so that's a bummer. But can't complain since I got the combo for less than 100 usd.
You guys should do a budget build from Newegg and have it be able to run the new Epic Games title coming out "Mini Royale" it's still in beta but it looks so fun and it's honestly a big reason I want to build my PC 😂

I was looking at a system at MicroCenter and here are the specs. Intel Core i7 13th Gen 13700KF 2.5GHz Processor (16 core) NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 12GB GDDR6X G.Skill 32GB DDR5-5600 RAM 2TB Solid State Drive Microsoft Windows 11 Pro 10/100/1000 Network 2.5GbE LAN WiFi 6E 802.11ax Bluetooth 5.1 AIO Liquid ML 240L RGB Cooler It is "on sale" for 1699.00 does that seem like a good price or should I keep looking. It seemed pretty good for DDR5 but, I just don't know.
I've been going back and forth for for weeks over whether to move away from PC gaming to a console because I can't convince myself to spend $1k or more on new components. $500 or less for a console seems like a bargain considering that my 4770k is now way past it's useful life so I'm up against the wall. I've never heard of Aliexpress so I'll have to check them out. Is their stuff actually good? The pricing is amazing. I was actually thinking that perhaps rather than jumping to an Xbox X series I could just cannibalize existing components from my old build and buy enough "value" components to get me back into the mid-range area. I've got a really nice Corsair case, Arctic White case with a Corsair 750W Gold Cert power supply. I don't really care about RGB, and the case isn't glass, so I wouldnt see it anyway. Reusing my case, the PSU and my existing fans would save a substantial amount allowing me to get even better initial components. I'd also want some upgradability down the road so there's lots to consider. Thoughts?
Mine with E5 2667 v4 16x2 ECC 2400 and RX 5700xt all part except PC Case are from Aliexpress it work really well. My problem is I still stuck with 60Hz Monitor 😂
Can this only play esports titles or can it also play AAA games like Elden Ring, Armored Core 6, Horizon Zero Dawn 2... Can it run newer games also. I know literally nothing. lol. Been thinking of getting the rog ally. I don't really play esports mostly triple A games. Just wondering.

if your looking for new games to benchmark, how about victoria 3 and cities skylines 2?
i like to see you do Gran Tirsmo7
Can this only play esports titles or can it also play AAA games like Elden Ring, Armored Core 6, Horizon Zero Dawn 2... Can it run newer games also. I know literally nothing. lol. Been thinking of getting the rog ally. I don't really play esports mostly triple A games. Just wondering.
You can probably run the games you mention at 1080p resolution with this rig.
Valorant is a good game to test
Is the soyo 2060 the one that needs the sketchy drivers
Nope! The only ones that need them are the M variants, this takes normal drivers
