  • LGA 2011-3, the updated version of the X79 LGA 2011 platform, was the most expensive platform of its time. Today though, both the high core count Xeons that used to cost over 1000$ and the over 500$ motherboards have come down in price dramatically, to under 100 bucks.
    In this re-review video I go over who I think should buy this platform, if it even is a good idea to do so and why :)
    I also wanna hear your experience with X99 down in the comments!

    I found an ad on Facebook for a "Gaming PC" listed at 100 bucks USD. The guy was moving and wanted to get rid of it. Best 100 I ever spent, I ended up with a 5820k i7, 16gb of RAM, and a 980ti. People genuinely and seriously undervalue these systems with x99 platform. Nice video and great recommendations!

      @@ImWateringPSUs yeah. Originally was going to use the board for a test bench, but the e5 2630v3 I had lying around was already about as fast as my x5675 at 4.1ghz so decided to get the e5 1660v3 and overclocked that thing to 4.1ghz core/4.1ghz cache and been using that ever since. Probably going to stay on this platform for some time as it's quite fast. Only problem is that the cpu can push up to 210 watts during a high cpu load and that gets painful during the summer :P

      Because it wouldn’t make sense as a comparison! The 7800X3D is the best gaming CPU for high refresh rate. You buy X99 to play at 144Hz max but mostly to have a LOT of cores for cheap. The 8c/16t 7800X3D would get destroyed in a synthetic benchmark against my 20c/40t E5 2698 V4😅

Però secondo me attualmente il vero good value buy è negli Xeon V4 ad alto core count.
