Thanks Miyconst. I purchased the MR9A PRO and they no longer give the additional fan. This is not good, the supplied fan is poor and it is difficult to find a replacement of the right size to change it when breaks
Hello, Do you know if the BIOS of the Machinist MR9A V1.0 in the Mi899 tool are compatible with the Machinist MR9A PRO MAX? I want to use TBU and Undervolt in my Motherboard, thank you!
I think MR9A Pro is 8-phase and uses Q87 chipset, Non-pro is 6-phase and B85 chipset. It would be great if you could check if there is any performance difference between the two.
I don't have a Pro version, but I can say that my MR9A 1.0 has a C612 chipset. However, as far as I know, chipset is randomly sent. About the phases it has 3 double phases, so maybe we can consider it as a 6 phases VRM (Pro should be 4*2, 8).
Valew!
@@miyconstclips I really thought about it, but I made several settings in the BIOS to improve the performance of the MR9A that if I reset the BIOS I don't think I will know how to configure it again lol. But it was worth it!
Is the machinist x99 pr9 worth it ? I'm looking for something cheap to work right away and capable of doing casual gaming and light workload with no issue
For almost every Xeon motherboard you need a graphics card. Only few Xeon processors have integrated graphics, and even less boards are compatible with those.
Thank you so much for your reply.😊 I have another similar question. There are overclocking setting menu in the x99 pr9 bios, but they don't work? What is this setting for?
I dont understand the..... 2 hannel ram doesnt it somewhat fly in the face of having an HEDT platform? One.... that has quad channel Its been years sincr i researched this im probably rusty
Technically they could all have four channels, no additional hardware is needed since the memory controller is in the CPU. they purposely don't make them QUADs and I can't explain why
Im planing to make a new system with e5 2699 v3, which machinist motherboard from MR9 series should i buy? there seems to be a lot of options... MR9A , MR9A PRO, MR9A PRO MAX, MR9S, MR9D Or what would be the best x99 mobo for around 100$
I found the mr9a pro on Aliexpress and was confused by the io-shield. at the ethernet port ist a 2.5 printed. does the mr9a pro support 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet?
This motherboard uses the B85 chipset. This is extremely low end. It doesn't have VT-d. So is there a VT-d in the BIOS? Can I use virtualization software on this board? Is ECC function really supported?
By VT-d you mean bypassing PCI-E devices to virtual machines? Well, that is really a BIOS feature, just like the ECC support. Most of the Chinese motherboards come with utterly pathetic BIOS that has the absolute bare minimum of the functionality.
I got a X99-PR9, added E5-2696V3, two 8GB DDR4 ecc 2133 (outside slots), CMOS battery, psu 500W, basic gpu, cpu cooler ... wont display. cpu fan runs, psu fan runs. Added a speaker, no beeps. Usually, if something is off, speaker will beep. Really bummed. Anything else I can check? any help is appreciated. (btw, I have an X99-RS9 which works fine).
Make sure that the memory is compatible....it is not nessery to beep if the memory is not compatible....some motherboards do not beep or POST without compatible memory installed...
Damn, and I just ordered the same board. I have a Vega 56 though. Have you tried different bios versions? I remember someone making a modded bios for an X99 board without ASPM (which caused compatibility issues for AMD GPUs)
@@zextakamania2086 publique mi problema en otro canal y me dijeron que esa motherboard tiene problemas de compatibilidad con amd, que es mejor usar una nvidia.
I really appreciate your work, you've got me interested in x99 platform. I know pr9 vrm looks pathetic to you but I would really like you to test the motherboard. The brazilian guy on this video th-cam.com/video/EFa1eDIkS2M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=lxE2hn2eXC76e-HO&t=807 measured temperatures on vrm during cinebench test on 2670v3 and the results were pretty good, i also saw another brazilian test of the motherboard and it was also pretty positive
Considering his Cinebench result, the CPU was not unlocked. Should hit 10000+ when unlocked. Also his measurements were not correct. You can not use an infrared meter with default emissivity setting on anodised aluminium coolers. His meter was set to standard 095 but for anodised aluminium you have to set it to 077, else you'll get wrong readings. I have that board and VRMs get over 90° with unlocked 2680v3 when running Cinebench R23. Running games they'll be around 75° which is acceptable.

Honestly, I have no clue! You can try clearing CMOS to restore the original BIOS settings.

I have both. My only problem with MR9a is that it doesn't have the RAM memory timmings adjustment in the BIOS as we can find in the Huananzhi QD4.

When will you make a review for pr9?
Is the PR9-H the same as the PR9? Can the PR9 turbo unlock bios from mi899 be used on the PR9-H?
Hi. The PR9-H usese mobile chipset and I am not sure if the BIOS is compatible, tests and verifications are required.
Hi, when will be the reviews posted?
I got the pro version - the POST card works - which of the DDR4 sockets do you put first/second etc?
No port HDMI and VGA Port , how do connect to monitor ?

No.
