As noted in other comments, "Charge" is traditional balance charge, and "Balance" just evens the voltage across all cells. Also, watts is really the spec you want to look at for charging and discharging current. The reason it only discharges your 2S at 1.7A is because it is limited to 15W per channel. For an 8.3V battery, that is approximately 1.7A (15/8.3 = 1.7). A fully charged 6S is only going to discharge at 15W/25.2V = 0.59A. The same calculation is on the charging side, the charger is limited to 100W/channel. So a 25.2V 6S pack will only charge at 100/25.2 = 3.96A, not the 15A you might think it will charge at.

Icharger 4010 duo is the best beast i ever used.
I've been using one of these for about a year now. I do occasionally use the "combined output mode" when I use parallel charging boards. Also I only use the DC input around 29v (two 12v lifepo4 batteries in series), to get the higher outputs.

Why would you buy this when the newer d300 is only 10 dollars more.
I used that charger for the first time today. I have a gens ace 6s lipo with gteck technology. You just plug it in an that's it. I like it

Great video is there a reason you chose this model over the IMARS D300 instead? The reason I ask is because I have had my eye on the D300 and it’s supposed to be a better charger over the dual.
Well, the D300 isn't available here yet, but I'm hoping to get one once it is and do a review on it. And yes, it's supposed to be better than this one. 🙂

Regarding the uncharge rate: Technically, that entirely depends on how much heat the fan can blow away. I have the Gens Ace myself, and the fan is good enough for loading, but for discharging at a higher rate you would definitely need a bigger fan and better cooling inside.
If you have some empty batteries, then use the full one as power source and load the empty ones to storage voltage.
Using full packs to storage charge empty ones is not a bad idea, but I could only do that depending on the packs I have available as some would be too big and some too small. But great idea, nonetheless. 👍
Would having the capacity limit set that high charging a 5000/8000mah set to 5.0/8.0amps damage the battery after some time or do i need to set the required capacity limit ?

Use charge and it will balance charge all cells to 4.2v by default. It's the same on my Hota S6 (which is a better charger imho) Both use the same software by the looks of it. Regarding discharging batteries, I plug a fully charged battery into the DC port and transfer charge over to 1 or 2 discharged batteries to storage charge. You can set the fully charged battery being discharged not to go below a set voltage

look, i liked the vid. it had some real world problem handling, not unlike a newbro in the rc hobby. But it realy reaked of " its not what im used to, and i refuse to read the instruction before doing a review, and will assume instead of finding out".
Im not gonna repeat what others have said better than i could, but i feel a followup vid is in order, when you've learned what you did wrong.
@ the 830 mark you showed what you said is basic charge and then showed "balance". You can change the balance voltage by scrolling down to the voltage amount and select enter to change, however the balance function is for balancing unequal cells not balance charging. When plugging in a battery, the default option is "charge" when the balance lead is plugged in, it will balance charge automatically not basic charge. A basic charge will only happen if you don't plug in the balance lead. There isn't any need/reason to scroll to "balance" when you want to balance charge a battery. Under "charge" with a balance lead plugged in, the charger will automatically stop charging at 4.2 volts per cell. Also when using it how i said, it will save the last charge setting you used.
Interesting. I had to look that up in the manual before responding because I was about to disagree with you. LoL. Turns out, you're right. The charger will balance charge the battery in the "charge" setting (according to the manual). Every other charger I've ever used will not do this and you have to select balance charge to get the cells to charge evenly. I'll have to try it next time I use it, so thanks for the heads up. 😎👍
@@AussieRCPlaygroundI've been using this charger since it came out, was confused by the same thing as you, but indeed "Charge" is the normal "balanced charge" mode. it's good that chargers no longer let you charge without balancing the cells, that's how it should be

The charger is physically too small to dissipate the heat caused by discharging, thats why it has a output, to put the power somewhere.
I honestly don't think size has anything to do with it, it's just the math in the numbers that limit it from doing what I want.
@@AussieRCPlaygrounddischarging lipo cells requires the charger board to shut the power through resistors which generates heat. The amount of discharge amps is a direct function of how cool those resistors can be kept. A larger unit with more airflow would be able to keep those discharge resistors cool in order to discharge at higher rates.
The validity of high amp discharge is directly related to how cool the discharge resistors can be kept, and a bigger unit that has resistors of a larger surface area, and more airflow will allow higher discharge rates.
It's physics, not maths.

No, it doesn't. I've tried it a few times now and it will discharge at 1.8amps or less. I actually had a 6S battery on discharge the other day and it only managed to get to 0.6amps, so it has a limit based on the voltage of the battery, I guess. 🤷
NO ONE blogger never use any measuring tool to check an accuracy of chargers. Half an hour of blablabla and nothing useful. All this info is useless. There is a dozens similar chargers on the market but key moment is accuracy and reliability. That is info what people waiting for! Unfortunately, watching a hundreds of similar videos is just wasting time.

Agreed. It's hard to beat the Skyrc chargers, but this one isn't bad either, just has some menu quirks.
