The Bowing is a show of respect, gratefulness, humility, and honor. most of them bow to saenchai simply because he is a highly respected legend and a true champion in and out of the ring. Anyways, great reaction :)

and he doesn't boast, trash talk, nor disrespect his opponent at any time except completely make a fool out of his opponent during the fight. it is a privilege to get a nice beating from him...

Everyone bows to him because in Thailand he is like a Muay Thai professor. You saw him fighting like playing that becaure he is such a real deal. In Thailand he got acclaimed more than Buakaw in Muay Thai.

Bowing is a sign of respect. Everyone does it, even Saenchai. The amount of mutual respect in Muay Thai sets the example of how it should be in all Martial Arts and Combat sports; or anything in competitive sports really.

For Thais, especially fighters, it's very important how you represent yourself. You gotta look confident, dominating, uneffected by what your opponent throws at you. One of the big things about how Saenchai destroys people is his showmanship and antics. Don't get me wrong: He IS an insanely good and technical fighter but other than that, he just gets in peoples heads. It's incredibly easy to fall for his trickery and grow wary of what may come and that's when he gets people. If he has room to play out his stuff, you stand no chance. The people who fare best against him are usually very straight forward power or close range fighters who keep pushing and pushing and don't let all the trickery get to them and that is much harder to pull off than it sounds! One guy actually beat Saenchai 3 times, he was a clinch-specialist and one of the most decorated Muay Thai fighters ever. Saenchai is not a clincher but ever to beat him in the clinch you need to be an expert level clinch-fighter because while Saenchai is not a clinch fighter, he is VERY good at countering the clinch right from the getgo.
If you still want more Muay Thai, I'll be happy to suggest some amazing fighters, especially more old legends of the sport!

Not pound for pound in the world. Saenchai is Pound for Pound GOAT, and he is the GOAT imo. Saenchai has been around for decades, he’s not a “new fighter around the block” Great reaction

8:13 yeah when it comes to Saenchai everyone bends the knee pretty much. He's a living legend in Muay Thai. In Thailand he's probably second only to Samart Payakaroon who was essentially the Muhammed Ali of the Muay Thai golden era(strongly suggest checking him out btw). Most of the dudes who fight Saenchai these days- namely; mostly unranked westerners- go into these bouts knowing they're probably not going to give Saenchai an L. Notice that a lot of the time when Saenchai slips a kick or catches their foot, starts dancing, etc. his opponent smiles along with him. They're likely fighting their literal hero and are probably enjoying watching him do his thing only slightly less than the crowd. It's seen as kind of an honour to fight him in the first place. It's also worth pointing out that Saenchai isn't being super malicious, or just trying to humiliate his opponent as much as possible or something- he's putting on the show we all want to see. He's apparently the nicest dude in the world in person.

What you got to know about Saenchai and the vibe he gives is HE IS AN ABSOLUTE GOOFBALL who is super NICE and loves messing around outside and in the ring. In terms of in the ring, he is a classic Muay Thai golden age fighter who uses a lot of deception and timing and his personality bleeds into his fighting style. A lot of the highlights you saw in this particular video are "newer" fights of him after he semi-retired and doesn't really fight top-tier competition anymore and now fights showmatches and exhibitions (often severely outweighed and outsized by his opponents) to promote Muay Thai in the world. As it stands today he is currently on a 54 fight winning streak. Thanks for the reaction.

I don't know if carrying opponents to their corner is considered humiliating or not to you guys. But for Thai people believe, head is where one's soul/spirit dwells. In showing respect, you bow to lower your soul and let other's soul be higher than you, and to give respect back, the other side lower their head too. Lifting others up is the same thing, you lift their spirit up above you, it's a sign of showing respect and also generosity. And if it comes from a person you respect so much, it can't be helped to bow down as low as you can to show how much you appreciate their respect.

The respect of these fighters for one another is the cornerstone of Muay Thai. Any fighter was thrilled to go the distance with this legend. He fights much larger and heavier opponents So funny I saw a video of Saenchai and Buakaw drinking straight whiskey and Saenchai was smoking a cigarette on their way in to teach a seminar. They are a special kind of humans Saenchai is always training, teaching, fighting or making funny Instagram videos He never stops

I train muay thai and have competed many times. Muay thai is a sport of respect. It is after all the national sport of Thailand and Thailand is a country where respect is very important, especially to elders. That's why you always bow before and after a muay thai fight. There is no trash talk or drama like in the UFC. Saenchai is a legend of muay thai, one of the greatest fighters ever. So for those young guys it is a like a dream come true to fight him, it's like getting a challenege with a master. So of course they are humble and show him the respect he deserves. Saenchai is also a very nice guy, he jokes around constantly and never take anything or himself too seriously.

He not just fight but the reason opponents bows to him is because even he is old if compare to other many Thai they would of stop fighting and just be a coat
But fighting in the ring is isn’t just fight to win for him. Every fight he also coat those opponents during the fight , that’s why at the end of that fight many opponents bow to him as they respect and thank you.

If you watch closely you can see he sometimes teaches them as he fights them, showing his opponent where they should ve hit etc... Im an avid fan of mauy Thai saenchai is the most entertaining to watch. I d recommend a Lawrence Kenshin video on a bloke named " lerdsilla" aka the slippery eel. He fights like neo off the matrix. Also the one championship series kickboxing champion "superbon" where he literally knocked some bloke called Chen into a coma and he won the belt by knocking Georgio petroysian into a coma too. Superbon is baukaw 2.0 and learned his craft from baukaw banchamek himself. Both 2 great fighters alongside saenchai and rodtang of course. Mauy Thai has many different styles some are like chess players some are just master dodgers some are just master kickers and rodtang is what is known as a "nak mauy" very aggressive forward fighting stand and bang style fighter. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

You bow, aka Wai, because it's fucking Saenchai and he gave you the opportunity to bring your best to try to beat him. Very, very few have accomplished this. These fighters aren't like in the west where fighters fight a couple times a year. They have HUNDREDS of fights in their careers in Muay Thai! I think Sagat, yes the person Street fighter is based on, had damn near 500. They grow up fighting and do it every week if they can. It's the only way a lot of the poorer kids can help make their family some money. I don't know the number, but Saenchai has like 150-200+ fights. People bow to show their respect to the sport and everyone in it. But, also because Saenchai is crazy good at what he does, and they respect him as a type of GOAT in Muay Thai.

you said your getting Adesanya, McGregor, Ali, and Mayweather vibes. These guys are doing it for the show, where as Saenchai is doing these things because he is truly loving being there in that moment. It's rarely about taunting his opponent and more often a truly genuine action/reaction because he is just loving being in that moment. If that mmakes sense.

I had the honour of meeting with Saenchai and it's just the most genuine and fitting behaviour from him in that moment. I think my comparison is being misinterpreted.
