UFC got all the the promo, marketing, and advertising behind them, but imho, I think One Championship is way more fun to watch. That square, flat footed Thai stance though, no dancing, no bouncing, no floating… so deceiving! One minute it looks like he ain’t gonna do sh!t, next thing you know, you’re waking up in the hospital with a busted up jaw😅
Just look at his figures, dudes been fighting pro for 8 years (2014 to 2022), 166 fights divided by (8 years x 12 months (96 months) equals 1 fight every 7 weeks if my maths checks out (probs not) but even so the average MMA fighter might fight once a quarter if theyre busy (usually less).....this is insane
Thai boxer fight a lot generally, is not uncommon to see a 20 years old thai boxer with 100's fight
I've followed Tawanchai for a few years now and he has talent way above his years. He's cool and calm in all his fights, just amazing. He's only 23 I think and at 5'11 and 154 lbs can you imagine him as a conventional boxer at Jr middleweight or maybe trained down to 147 at welterweight? I think he'd be unbeatable, and he's a southpaw too which seems to give a lot of people trouble.
He is a once in a generation talent. I feel sry for ppl that think that if it's not UFC it's not real fighting. His first title defense was incredible. One good leg kick n Jamal was done

thai boxing is so much more brutal than american boxing. this guy has spent his whole life mastering thai boxing. these kids start at 7 years old.
there's no way he'd be interesting in traditional boxing.

Although has already been welknown in Thailand with more than 100 Muay Thai bouts, Tawanchai only debuted at One Championship last year. The clip you just watched consists of these 4 bout (in One FC) as follows: (earliest to latest)
1. Debut fight with Sean Clancy in 2021-05-15 (y-m-d) from starting the video 1:30; result: TKO win
2. Fight against a Thai veteran-- Sittichai Sidsongpeenong in 2021-08-27 (6:25 in the clip); result: narrowly Loss on points.
3. Fight against another Thai, Semapetch , in 2022-01-14 (starts at 5:48 in the clip); result: TKO win
4. Fight against a Danish Niclas Larsen in 2022-06-03 (starts at 7:30 in the clip); result: TKO win
In a couple of days he will challenge for the One FC MT belt with another Thai guy, Petchmorakot, in One 161. (Probably you guys should be able to see the fight through Prime video.) Wish him (or his opponent) best of luck.

Muay Thai matches that are fought with small mma gloves is kinda pushing it to the limits, you can still hear strikes landing by how loud every strike sounds even with lesser padding

This other forms of defense a Muay Thai fighter can utilize like distance management via using teep kicks/front kicks with also jabs, parrying the strikes, a decent amount of head movement, and decent amount of footwork.
