After 5 months with inflamed hand, I needed to get serious. I'm at almost 2 weeks with B1, great improvement, I'm going to add D3 as well. I'm super healthy but from now on, I'm going to incorporate a multivitamin into my diet.
I got severe psoriasis in 1989. My finance said that we would kick it because I didn't want to take drugs that promised me liver biopsy every 6 months until my liver was damaged. I wrote a booklet called Psoriasis: spot free in 30 days. I went raw vegetables at the time, no starch or chemicals or processed foods. My psoriasis was completely gone for years. Every time it came back I did the same thing and I noticed my body would recognize my diet change and healing would be faster each time. Now that I'm carnivore, many things that happened, like oxalate dumping at 10 days, make sense. Food is the trigger. When will medicine stop giving nasty drugs and start teaching food therapy?
@@kyusunkim2629 Green meat? No. Vegetables are trying to kill you. Once you understand that, and understand the high fat/zero carb way of living, you don't juice. Carnivore is the true form of eating clean.
I saw a few videos years ago by Dr. John Bergman : please try to find the one about Green Juices : you're getting the essence of the veg 's 🌱🥕🥑, in an easy-to-take form .🥑🥕🌱☺️. It's not easy to eat quantities of raw veg's, but once juiced, they are most beneficial.☺️🌱🥕. Also see the excellent Functional Medicine Doctor, Mark Hyman. ( his videos offer great info about nutrition). He had a lot of health problems earlier in life, which I guess prompted him to research Functional Medicine. Today he looks as " fit as a fiddle " !☺️. Time and time again, we hear how the modern junk food undermines our health ( Sugar, salt, excess carb's, pesticides, additives, antibiotics, growth hormones, etc., etc.), so we need to find out what our bodies need, in order to heal ourselves .☺️. The more you learn, the more sense it makes. My " mentor" , Doris Grant, and her inspiration, Dr. Hay, were on the right track all those decades ago. It is gratifying to see detailed modern research bearing out what they found out...☺️. Dr. Berry's analogy of the barn makes Psoriasis easier to understand...☺️. Best Wishes from England. 🇬🇧🦉🌈🥀🇬🇧💕🇺🇲☺️🇬🇧
Dr. Berry~ Last fall I listened to and tried what Dr. Paul Mason, out of Australia, suggested in a video which is to stop eating all legumes - peanuts and beans. He explains there is something with the way the protein and carbohydrates work in legumes which irritates leaky gut and flaring psoriasis. I do not understand it (not that smart) but I did stop eating all beans & peanuts and I've had no more flare ups. My psoriasis still exists but I don't scream getting into the shower any more. Now after listening to this video of your I will ramp up my Vit D and see if even more improvements will happen. Thank you for ALL you do. You are top-notch!
I've been keto for over a year and my psoriasis, among other disease states, is completely gone. I fed my teenage daughter keto while she was home on vacation and her severe eczema cleared up about 90% within a week! I love keto, thank you Dr Berry!
@@justinb1382 I do fine with dairy, While I don't drink milk ( too much sugar in it) I drink my coffee with heavy whipping cream every day, I eat cheese, Greek yogurt and butter all the time with no issues, psoriasis is long gone.
@@nikkiminnies5182 that’s awesome! Thank you for the response. I know everyone is different but I’ve always felt that dairy wasn’t the cause for my flare ups. I am just now starting my keto journey and hope to achieve the same results as you. I wish you continued success with keto! Thanks again.
Thank you for the important information. I have had psoriasis since about 1995. For a long time the disease was barely visible and I ignored it. In 2005 there was a marked worsening due to a lot of work, stress and little sleep (starting a family and young children, lots of overtime at work). 5 things help: 1. enough sleep, 2. fasting (I have been fasting for over a year, so far with bread and water three days a week) or eating sparingly in general, 2. regular exercise in the fresh air to relieve stress and have fun, 3. sunshine, 4. avoidance of sweets in favour of a low-carbohydrate, high-fat diet. 5. cheap skin creams from the supermarket or better: skin creams made from goat's milk. I am 46 years old, slim and athletic: 1.90 m tall and weigh 83 kg (166 lbs). I have been slowly switching to keto for 2 weeks. Little by little, the red spots and dead skin cells are disappearing.
Several years ago, I started getting psoriasis growing up my leg. I did some research about it and came to the conclusion that sunlight was important and essential in treating it. I started exposing my leg to the sun and it started getting better. Even though I had previously been totally against tanning beds, I continued through the winter using tanning beds. The psoriasis completely went away, I stopped using the tanning beds and I have had no psoriasis for years, but now it has returned on my fingers, so I will be taking vitamin D3 and using artificial sunlight if necessary. Thank you so much for all you do.
My psoriasis and keratosis Pilaris gets worse the second the sunlight becomes less in Sept. I went on a sunny holiday in Nov and it completely cleared up. Been using tanning beds once weekly since and while the keratosis p isn’t as bad it’s not doing much for my psoriasis.
Sunlight doesn't work for everybody. My brother also has psoriasis and it works well for him, but does nothing for my version (palmoplantar pustular psoriasis). Somebody suggested to me years ago it was because some people have trouble converting sunlight into Vitamin D. Not sure if that is true, but I'd do anything to get relief for my psoriasis. It has covered the soles and sides of my feet, it often gets dry and splits and makes walking an agonising experience...
This advice works for eczema too. Went clean ketovore and my eczema is gone. None of the ointments I had been prescribed over the years ever helped the eczema to go away. Amazing how ditching the carbs and 'vegetable' oils did! Thank you Dr. Berry!!
I had psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis for of 20 years. It was so bad at times my skin would crack and bleed and i hurt so bad i cold hardly walk or lift my arms. I quit smoking several years ago and within 6 months of quitting, I was mostly clear of psoriasis. My pain decreased. Of course I gained weight so then I started Keto. About a year ago i cut out most sugars, high carb foods, soy and gluten, now I am completely clear of psoriasis most of the time. If I eat off Keto (sugars, carbs, grains and gluten), I can start to see it come back. If I get really stressed or upset, I get a small breakout but it goes away quickly. I believe getting rid of toxins (sugars, gluten, carbs) and eating clean (keto) have been the cure for me. For 20 years I had tried lotions, potions, light treatments, chemo meds, etc. Nothing helped before Keto and stopping smoking.
Hello beautiful lady, I'm sorry to bother you. How long did your psoriatic arthritis last? Did it damage your joints? How is your general condition now?
Congrats on quitting smoking all your success with your psoriasis also! I have both psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and I need to stop smoking. I just heard about Dr. Barry today. 🙏
Psoriasis on my elbows and knees cleared up almost completely. The only change was keto. For me, the direct correlation is undeniable because I was off keto for about 6 months and it returned. Back on strict keto and gone. Since psoriasis is an inflammation response, keto lowering inflammation in the body should have a positive, influential effect and it does. As usual, Dr. Berry was way ahead of me. Thank you for all the informational videos that cover the horizon of keto benefits beyond weight loss. And the citations. I dare any of your peers to substantively disagree.
I can’t thank you enough Dr Berry for these great videos regarding psoriasis I have been suffering with psoriasis for over 5 years I have been to many different so called specialists not once did they mention my diet that’s all I had were several different nasty ointments and light treatments which like you said cleared it for a while but then would come back I have been on a strict Keto diet now for over 4 weeks now and I’m so pleased to say my psoriasis
I started keto for weight control and because I researched it to be generally better. I was stunned to find my tinnitus improved, my migraines gone, my bleeding gums stopped, my stomach gas reduced, my knees not hurting and my psoriasis slowly clearing! Oh, plus I lost some fat round my gut while eating some of the best food in the world!
@lena good question. I definitely have something like this going on in my ear canals and so I'm going to write this down as one of the things I need to discuss with the Doctor. Don't know why I haven't thought about this.
Is clearing up all the psoriasis on my head is completely gone my hands are pretty much cleared up as Is the rest of my body I’ve also lost 14kg so big up all the great work that you are doing like I said I can’t thank you enough
I started Keto to lose weight. But one of the greatest things about Keto was that within 8 weeks I had not only lost 20 lbs but my psoriasis on both my elbows and down my arms was 99% gone!!! I had psoriasis for over 20 years and nothing had helped. My skin is wonderful and overall I feel so much better since Keto. In 4 months I have lost 40 lbs and I am very happy! Keto is the way I am going to eat for the rest of my life. My BP is down and my lipid panel is the best it has ever been. Normal readings for me!!!!
@@ThePurpleElephantt no it doesn't. Research zero carb diets, carnivore diets. People eating this way generally have decreased inflammation as well as less other medical problems, and often have increased energy
I wanted to say thank you. I had this problem on 10% of my body for more than ten to 20 years, and in two months it's gone. I also used coconut oil, and the old lotions I had for years with little effect, now it is 99% cleared. amazing. I use you tube a lot but this has to be the video that has had the most effect on my life. thanks again and I encourage everyone to try this. I also gave up coffee and now have green tea, deleted nightshades.. after breaking the diet it came back a little
My wife's psoriasis completely went away with both pregnancies but returned a few months after having our babies. She mentioned this to her dermatologist and asked what is it about her body and pregnancy that helped, and how can she start doing whatever it was to get rid of her psoriasis again. The Dr basically said it could have been anything and walked out. Of course she tried to push the pull and shots. My wife opted for Duobril for now. It's definitely helped with the plaque, but she still has the red patches. I'm showing her this video. Thank you!!
Be your own detective and write down everything that she did differently when pregnant especially diet and nutrition. Also, the body's hormones go wonky when pregnant. That may also be a clue. Keep looking, trust yourself and ask God for the answer. You will get it.
Hi Doc. I'd just suggest you look at the microbiology of the gut with these skin issues. Besides Vitamin D and healthy fats and oils which are totally essential for healthy skin, you might look into probiotics. Fermented foods like Kimchi are full of probiotics, and so is kefir. Gut health directly relates to skin health. Fermented veggies are easy to make at home. I love your video. MD's like yourself who go above and beyond those requirements to become an MD, to become learned in natural health, are true gems!
I never had skin issues until about 5 years ago when psoriasis slowly began to develop on my face - on my eyelids, nostrils and ears especially. (Nowhere else on my body.) I also became insulin resistant and gained a lot of weight. At the beginning of this year, I really cleaned up my diet with keto/carnivore and intermittant fasting and have lost around 30 lbs. Yay! I was quite hopeful that my skin would begin to clear up too! Instead, to my surprise, it has gotten steadily worse. No flare ups or allergic reactions; just... steadily... worse... since the beginning of the year. I take no medications; I don't smoke or drink, I don't use skin cream. I even quit dairy because I thought I might be reacting to that. But no change. I'm kind of at a loss of what to do now. Definitely open to suggestions/insight.
My brother has psoriasis too unfortunately. I’ve done tons of research and this is what I’ve concluded. It’s an auto immune disease, most of your immune system is in your gut. It’s also caused by imbalance of microbiome. So look into foods that heal gut and are good for gut bacteria. Try do a little fasting. 12-16+hrs Vitamin d supplements Sleep is important aswell try and get 6-8 hrs And stress … major key. Try to focus on how you react to stress and do things that make you feel good, have fun and self care. Hope this helps
I suggest you stop consuming red meat for a couple of weeks and see how that goes. Do eat poultry and fish as clean as you can afford. If still not enough, then stop the poultry. All of our livestock are polluted with growth hormones, antibiotics, and contaminated food they eat. When eating fish, go with wild caught and the smallest ones to avoid mercury like in tuna and swordfish. Experiment until you find what works for your unique body.
I’ve had psoriasis for 36 years . Was continuous and gradually went from spots on my fingers to covering my entire palms. 4 months in to keto and it’s completely gone! I feel like it’s a miracle for me ! I’m amazed and so pleased to have this gone . It was horrible , costly and debilitating! If I’d only known my diet could totally cure this years ago!
YES! Diet IS the key! I've had is for 10 years and when I did keto was when I noticed it went away. I didn't eat red meat on keto either, just chicken. Now I'm completely whole food plant based and my skin has never been better. WHATEVER YOUR EATING, research if it is inflammatory or not. Cut out gluten and sugar. If your eating inflammatory foods, your skin WILL be inflamed.
@@c.bastien8437 I think the real component may be any foods that increase the creation of cortisol (steroids from cholesterol, fats etc.) and vitamin D, a steroid) controls the immune system and lowers it's reaction seems to benefit allergy symptoms. Staying away from the foods and supplements that lower cortisol benefits those with allergies. That's why steroids are given for immune reactions, because they naturally control the immune system from going overboard. The body produces higher cortisol (steroid) levels everyday in the morning, but modern diets, supplements and many fruits and vegetables high in vitamin C for example or other things that affect and lower cortisol have allergic reaction effects when in over abundance during the early parts of the day.
Dr. Berry's advice about psoriasis has been absolutely helpful for me! I take 5000 I.U. of vitamin D on a daily basis. That and a Keto diet has made such a tremendous difference. Haven't totally eliminated my psoriasis, but it has dramatically improved! Thank you 😊 so much Dr. Ken Berry!
Vitamin D worked awesome for me. It worked so well I started grabbing Gobs. I wish I had known what I know now! Theres a place where Vit D3 will destroy you. Don't take to much as it will damage your Kidneys (like i did). Take a reasonable amount. Maybe 1000 IU but consult a doctor. It should also be taken with K2 so as not to raise Calcium. Vitamin D stores up in the liver. When you get to that its better to discontinue . Vit D can be dangerous if you over do it.....
Also add vitk2, zinc and the magnesium. Vitd3 needs the vitk2 to mobilize the calcium into your bones where it's supposed to be to prevent osteoporosis and not hang out in the joints, vessels and other inappropriate places in the body 😉 😀. 👍💕👏🥳
I haven’t wore shorts or swam in more that two months now because of this psoriasis 🥲 it’s so so so bad sooooo bad, I’m definitely Trying these tips thank you!
🙁 Hope you find relief. Took me nine months to go from chronic coverage to totally clear, so definitely worth attempting at least. In regards to supplements, the following are vital : Vitamin D3, Zinc and Fish Oil. There are others you can take that will be beneficial, but these are the three *must haves*. Another vital step is discovering and then removing your triggers. For example, if cheese makes your skin worse, then pointless to continue consuming it when trying to clear.
True happiness really helps psoriasis, so do things you truly deeply love and which give deep meaning and value to your life. Think about it, what makes you truly deeply happy? If you don’t know what makes you deeply happy , ask yourself what your earliest memory is. That may give you a clue. Eat super healthy too, close to source natural foods, nothing processed, honour the partnership you have with your body and it will honour you in return. Cut all the toxins, love your body. Good luck and much happiness!
I follow AIP (Autoimmune Protocol) Diet for my psoriasis. Very restrictive keto/paleo diet. Basically no wheat (some say no grains), dairy, eggs, nightshades. Most common nightshades include potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, and goji berries. I love eggs, tomatoes, and peppers but they are the worst for me.
No, stop it. The information beforehand was useful. We need to know that we can't just build our body on garbage, we need to feed it the right things so it can be healthy.
This is some keeping bit real shh..I'm a barber and eczema and psoriasis are curable but not with creams and it took me saying that for 5 years for big pharma .. start making pills etc...truth I love it bro
I had quite bad psoriasis on my legs and arms. I started a couple of things. I stopped eating tomatoes, starch. I applied apple cider vinegar 50/50 with water with cotton wool for about two weeks. Then i started applying colloidal silver cream. My legs are much much better, almost all gone.
Not gonna lie I used to use lots of weed. I ended up flaring up the first time in my life after 4 years of smoking twice a day. I didn't also know that weed isn't often properly dried leaving molds and bacteria that aren't killed when lit and finds its way to the lungs. That's where alot of my patches shows up is where my lungs sit. Smoking does really effect psoriasis.
Ive wrote everything down ready to pass to my mum to try. She was put on the black box FDA tables and she was admitted to hospital 2days later with extremely inflammed liver. The hospital said stop the tablets for 4 weeks and then continue so I'm going to get her to do all your advise. My mum has a very severe case, she has been given every medication, topical cream etc and nothing even homeopathic have worked so I'm praying this will and very positive it will thank you.
Glad to hear people who have been able to change their diets and get psoriasis to clear up. Unfortunately, nothing for me worked. Diet changes (was on keto for a long time), sun exposure, removing any potential irritants from hair products to laundry detergent. Also my psoriasis started and got considerably worse when I was the fittest I’ve been since I was a teenager. The only thing that has been effective was starting Tremfya injections. Within 4 months, psoriasis has cleared up about 80%. My dermatologist thinks I can wean off of it within a couple of years so we’ll see. You should absolutely try to change things under your control before turning to injections, but if nothing’s working, do what you’ve got to do. I’m happier now than I’ve ever been in a long time because I’m not itching and am not afraid to wear shorts or take my shirt off at the pool. My quality of life has greatly improved. Best of luck to everyone dealing with psoriasis. It’s a terrible condition to live with and I hope everybody finds a solution.
Have you ever tried a food intolerance test? I did one its called Everlywell food intolerance you can order online and take the test at home send it in by mail and get the results back in a couple weeks. Everyone is different and major intolerances for me are dairy, cashews and yogurt but also a list of other milder reactions to wheat, egg whites, chicken.
Hi. I want to suggest what has worked for me which is stopping legumes. I stopped eating peanuts and all beans (including green beans) and the flare ups stopped. I still have plaques but they are not as thick and rarely bleed now. I stopped legumes back in September and my skin is much better, I no longer scream in the shower. I learned this through Dr. Paul Mason out of Australia and I hope you can find some relief.
@@standom2390 10 months later and my psoriasis is 99% cleared up. I can’t recommend the Tremfya injection enough. I have an appointment in August and I’m going to ask that we start cutting down on injections so I can hopefully get off them at some point. Sometimes medicine is the answer.
@@d.e.sommers5179 I was on Keto for a long time while still having psoriasis. So really low amounts of legumes but it still had no effect. Literally the only thing that worked was injections with Tremfya. Now 99% cleared up, when 10 months ago scales covered 70% of my scalp, 50% of my back, and about 10% of my legs. I’m hopeful within a year I’ll be off the injections. I’m really glad it’s worked for you though, as injections was the LAST thing I wanted to do. But personally, I’m happy I did.
I am whole food plant based, don't drink caffeine, no alcohol, no smoking. BMI is 21.5. no more skin Flair's, no dandruff. How can eating Keto ibe safe to maintain for a lifetime?? Eating loads of saturated fat... Won't that clog arteries and lead to all kinds of vascular disease? I've seen many long term study results on plans based being both sustainable and healthy, but now studies are coming out showing the danger of long term ketosis.
@Karla Coppock not to me, not long term. If ketosis is being enter into as a result of water only fasting, then from what I have see in studies, that can take cholesterol down dramatically and heal the body, but obviously, a person could not go for months and months on water only. I fast 24-48 hours several times a month. I think that is a healthy way to do keto.
Since I have been using UVB light therapy in combination with sulphur baths, I have eliminated 95% of my psoriasis problem. I don't eat nuts and wheat either!
My psoriasis turned out to be "dermatitis herpetiformis" a result of gluten intolerance. Gave up wheat, which isnt easy to avoid, and the rash is gone.
Agreed. Wheat is extremely hard to avoid. Too much wheat makes my psoriasis flare up badly. I cannot eat wheat-free or gluten-free processed products either, as I find they taste disgusting (and weird texture too). I am fine with Artstian handmade sourdough bread. But any mass produced bread is a no-go.
Vitamin d3k2, calcium , probiotics, chia seeds. I am not sure which one of these helped me with my psorasis ( started taking these at once) . But its all gone now... first 15 days i started taking these, dint see much difference. But suddenly it started cleaning up. I would definitely recommend trying this combination at least once. Who knows, might help you as well
The body is very confusing. I was drinking black coffee tea almost every day for two months after having given it up for years. Developed nerve pain in right leg and an inflamed toe. Drinking the tea was the only change in routine. Looked it up. Black tea has oxalates. I knew this at one time and that is why I had given it up. Gave it up again. Pain is diminished after only one day. Oxalates are bad.
Everything you said is so true! Thank you! Salutations from Romania! I`ve been applying topical "varnish" of different kinds for some years now and the only thing it does is mask the problems. Also exposed my body to inflammation and infection. Got so bad that, for example, after sitting down on a hard chair for 20 minutes my back would go red and bumps would appear on my spine. Initially would feel itchy and next morning would feel paint and would disappear after 2-3 days.
thank you, I have been using your guide lines on keto for a year plus, have lost 25 # . for 2 years I was dealing with psoriasis, started with over the counter than to proscribed shampoo with no relief. I began with increased vitamin d , added k along as you suggested , within 30 days no itching or burning skin, no constant dandruff on my shirt. thank you again
Im 47 and just discovered a itchy patch 2 months ago. First time of this ever. Watched several Videos. Gave up dairy, and gluten for most part as much as possible. Started drinking a few Kavita probiotic drinks a couple times a week. I’ve been on Leto before and lost 15 pounds but my oxalate levels were so high I began signs of kidney stones. So I don’t go to strict on keto now. I’ve tried to cut back on social drinking also. I believe stress started it (teenagers 😖) and my gut not being healthy flared it. My grandpa on my moms side had psoriasis awful for a long time. Sure wish we had the internet back then. What a horrible issue we all on here have to deal with. KEEP FIGHTING! 💪🏼
How long did it take before you started to notice change? I have it a little bit worse so I’m not expecting complete remission yet, but I’m hoping for even the slightest progress. Thanks!
@@Bigdog284 within days. I get flare ups here and there when I notice I’m not paying attention to what I’m eating. I’ve started taking a probiotic plus vitamin D every day also. Tea tree oil was good in summer. But with now dry fall/winter, Neosporin has helped a bit.
Peanut butter and grass fed whey protein used daily have caused worsening symptoms. Cutting them back has helped. I take a topical steroid, cytokines suppress (green tea extract), and turmeric supplement. This has helped keep and clear my fair skin for now. I also take krill oil daily. Goodluck to those who read this. I wish you clear and healthy skin.
My trial and error is that keto is the basis...nothing improves without it, then as much fiber as u can ingest. Fiber is ur microbes food. And when I consume protein I have betain hcl capsules and ginger to increase digestion. I noticed that when I had protein my psoriasis would flare. If I didn't for a few days it would fade. I think it's all about digestion and microbe health and food allergies..gluten and dairy.
Psoriasis…it’s also on the inside. There’s a large patch in my gut that dr. Theorized it was scar tissue..,from a gastric ulcer. From other disorders I have,,,I’m questioning .,if it might just might be ..psoriasis? I have an autoimmune disorder that also kicks up….makes other disorders worse. I was diagnosed with psoriasis 5 years ago and what a nightmare. Since it’s cleared! I’ve cleaned my diet and I am prescribed a med a swear by it. This clip is helpful!
I just got diagnosed with psoriasis I was shocked I thought my bipap mask had rubbed my skin and made calluses. I've been carnivore for almost 3 weeks it's a miracle the benefits. I'm not going back to dairy except butter. I saw that evening primrose oil is good for psoriasis what do you think? I'm not taking and rx meds for this. I'm working on it holistically drinking more water, cutting my smoking in half to begin with
Dr Ken Berry, great video, as usual. However, one heads up about Vitamin D3; My psoriasis had settled down to a mild level, after changing to keto, etc, but I still wanted to try to get rid of it all. I didn't know about vitamin D3 at all, and after watching this clip, went and got some. Took 2,000 on 1st day, 3,000 on 2nd day, and 5,000 on 3rd day .. at which point, that evening, I had a massive psoriasis / eczema flare up, with uncontrollable itching, to the extent that I did myself significant involuntary damage by intense and prolonged scratching all over my body. The subsequent degree of discomfort and pain, plunged me into a horrible negative psychological state .. I felt almost suicidal. Rushed to the doctor - he did urgent blood tests, etc, and found my calcium levels were way elevated all of a sudden, and he said that excessive calcium leads to intense itching and eczema flair ups, in the body trying to expel it. And how on earth did I get excessive calcium? Vitamin D3 causes production of it - excessive VD3 causes excessive calcium production. Thus my already fragile immune system was thrown into disarray. I immediately stopped D3, and started taking high dosage of Prednelsone yesterday (as much as I hate taking pharmaceuticals) and even by today, less than 24 hours, am much better, and itching way down. And feeling much better. So, Dr Berry, you may want to rethink your recommendation of high doses of D3 - it was a disaster for me, and could be the same to others.
Bro he clearly talks about watching out about vitamin d getting to high and monitoring it. You took way too much and he warns can be dangerous to do so.
After 25 years with psoriasis, tried vitamin D3, 5,000 units for over a year but it didn't clear it here either. BUT oral CBD oil drops helped. Hope ur better.
You can’t overdose on vitamin d in only 3 days. It takes months of time to build up vitamin d levels. Hahaha. And for the calcium, taking k2 fixes that easily
I can't completely agree with you about topical creams being a waste. You know psoriasis can itch so bad we scratch till we bleed. I use some itch, relief, creams, and prescription steroid ointments. You mentioned we are wasting our time doing that, but if I didn't, I would go out of my mind. As it is, this affliction rules, my life. It's also not very comforting to know it will never go away completely. I was told by a doctor years ago that not much research goes into psoriasis because it's not life-threatening so it doesn't have a very high priority for research .
I just went from 0 psoriasis to it covering pretty much my whole body in 2 months. It's also in my joints including my jaw. This all happened apparently as a result of my predisposition to strep throat and an infection from a cat bite. My doctor gave me topical steroids and I just started biologics but I really appreciate thus perspective and I think I will try to make these changes while I also undergo other treatments. Maybe one day I won't need them.
thank you for the natural way to treat psorisis you are rigth farmaceutics do not have the answears for the treatments to bring releive for psorisis thank you
Your psoriasis is from the drugs you were given for strep, cat bite infection! Take my word for it biologic drugs will kill your organs and there's also aborted fetus tissue in all biologic drugs! Methotrexate which is a chemotherapy drug is also used which will also shut the organs down eventually. The best way is to put coconut oil on and get a used tanning bed on facebook market place and tan every day to control it.
I'd love to see an updated video on psoriasis using the carnivore diet, whether you still recommend Vit D supplementation etc. Thanks for all your good work doc
@@KenDBerryMD Can't wait for this! I have seen testimonies online of people with psoriasis touting the carnivore diet as a way to clear their psoriasis. I would love to know if you recommend keto/paleo or carnivore for psoriasis.
@@jessie9653 I recently cut out dairy as I couldn't get rid of this skin issue on my hand and was having gut pain. Been about 2 weeks no dairy and the hand is looking better and no stomach pains.
I tried so hard to find solution for this problem. Met many dermatologists but of no use. They only give expensive lotions and creams which don't have permanent effect. I researched extensively on the topic and came across the knowledge that modern medical science doesn't really have a cure for psoraisis. Dr Ken Berry MD is the only dermatologist I have seen speaking sense on the topic telling things mentioned in Indian Ayurveda. These videos are a must watch for people dealing with the problem.
The vitamin D supplement that has been so helpful for my psoriasis (and overall health) has been PureNaturals Vitamin D - 5000 IU. It's the type made with Organic Olive Oil. I get the bottle with 360 softgels.
Is this the same for psoriatic arthritis? My husband has been easing into this keto thing with me. He grew up eating whatever he wanted without being overweight. He’s doing pretty good. It takes time.
I have been keto for most of this year. I went strict keto in June and my psoriasis got worse. 🤦 I am now covered in it. I was really surprised because I worked so hard to get ketovore which is supposed to be great.
Hello , I suggest to avoid food that generates heat in body like spinach, meat, chicken, sea food etc. Focus on foods that are cool to body. I am 100% sure you will see results in 15days. In India, my cousins had this issue and they took ayurvedic medicine for 3 days and ate only cooling foods and got cured from psoriasis. Even fish and omega 3 supplements heats and makes psoriasis worse. Try to notice what food and supplements makes your psoriasis worse and avoid them. Remember, diet plays important role in curing it as well making it worse. I hope you get rid of it soon.
Did you keep going on keto ? Is your skin cleared ? If not what is the diet you are on ? I have preparing for keto diet and planning to start tomorrow Your comment frighten me a little since i have 60% of my body covered and tried anything else beside keto Thank you
Dr. McDougal, the founder of the starch diet, potatoes, corn.... When I went on his diet, in 1 week my psoriasis and arthritis pain was gone. SO, I would recommend the McDougal diet.
I once had a particular bad flare up.I read that people went to Israel to the Dead Sea to heal from psoriasis. So I went to a Dead Sea in Saskatchewan. I could only stay for four days. I soaked six hours a day for four days and my skin healed up afterwards completely. And it stayed healed for years. Sometimes I would soak in Dead Sea salt baths with four cups per bath and stay in for an hour just so it didn’t come back.
I found this out by accident when I started this lifestyle years ago! Not only did I lose 100lbs. but had lots of energy & most of my skin conditions including exma/psoriasis disappeared! My Dr. was against me doing it but before I did Keto...Diabetic, Colitis, D Levels very low/aka: chronic fatigue depression, migranes-low mag. skin conditions, high chloresterol, & so on...After:EVERYTHING GONE! haha my Dr was shocked & surprised to say the least! He still said he wouldn't recommend it to patients but since we're all individuals..."what works for one may not work for another". I've tried to help as many ppl as possible w/ my story. It made me cry to see a friend who was severely overweight, & dignosed w/ a plethora of medical conditons, plus had PCOD which made it even harder for her to lose the weight...took my advice....& WOW! I honestly didn't recognize her when I finally saw her! She has energy to work out everyday & most of health issues & meds. are healed!! Thank you healed for all you do to get rhe word out in a simplistic straight-shooting, & humble way! You Rock Doc!
Congratulations! I’ve lost 40 lbs in 6 months🙏 Still got 60 to go. I’m beginning to see that most Drs are actually dishonest, not just ignorant!! They are more interested in profit than curing & helping people, or to do no harm!
Fantastic. So glad you had such results and your friend, too. Thank you for sharing and trying to help others. What do you eat? Maybe your doctor didn't want to recommend this and lose a customer (don't need doctor if you don't have a list of ailments a mile long!) Or maybe just afraid of giving non-standard medical advice even if they know it works
PeaceEmpathyLoveHappiness RainbowFlowerPower Dr doesn’t want this information getting out 💰 as his Client list would go into Free Fall as would his Bank Account (Bottom Line). 18:6 diet guys. Plus d3plusk2 1000ui 2 tablets a day is what i take. Psoriasis vanishes. I also stop coffee and soda. I eat sweets sometimes like a little bit of chocolate but might happen twice a month. Still its all about your weight and food that you eat. I still eat rice since going keto is expensive for me. But thats 1 or 2 cups of rice per meal. Take note I am still on 18:6 fasting. I only eat twice on the 6 hours window. Dont over eat. And prioritize sleep. Anything below 6 hours is unhealthy. Ps:drink lots of water. First 2 weeks there might be hunger cravings but after that you will get used to is. High blood pressure and anxiety will dissapear once you stop coffee and soda.
I started Plant Paradox and also did Castor oil packs over my liver...you can hardly even tell I had a bad patch on the top of my foot that wrapped around my ankle that people would mistake for a burn it was so red and inflamed.. it is gone.
Why is it that we are encouraged to eat butter but not drink milk, where butter comes from? Is it because something has been removed from the milk to make butter?
Been on keto for 2 months now. I'm feeling great but my psoriasis is actually getting worse. I have more manifestations than before and it's more prone to bleeding. I've read that MCT coconut oil combined with omega-3 makes it worse. I'm now cutting on the first.
KenDBerryMD - I have had psoriasis for years. I currently eat Carnivore & Keto ( some days just meat ) even eating this way for sometime my psoriasis has not gotten better. In some ways I think worse.
Is dairy everything with milk.?? Cheese, sour cream, cottage cheese, cream cheese and yogurt OR just the milk, sugar, carbs we have to cut out.. I am confused by this.. if you could help me with an answer I'd appreciate it. Suffered with psoriasis for Years.. heard about keto.. was afraid of all that fat.. but, found your channel and now just starting keto :) Excited to see what changes occur in the next 5 months.
If you must eat dairy stick to heavy cream instead of milk, no yogurt etc, those things have carbs from the milk sugars in them even if they are unsweetened. Heavy cream is good and can be used in coffee instead of milk or creamer full of chemicals. Hard cheeses are good. Cream cheese is ok for keto
My wife had psoriasis for years and went to specialist who didn't help. We found that she needed to increase her Folic acid and the psoriasis went away.
Dr. Berry, can you kindly list the Diet that is better than medicine against psoriasis so that we psoriasis sufferers listening to you can follow the said diet.
I've been doing a water fast w lglutamine 3 times a day and its fading very quickly after 2 weeks. Psoriasis being a reaction to. Leaky gut. Due to allergy to gluten and dairy. Also have been drinking matcha green tea mixed w lemon for the incredible antioxidants that boost immunity. I think the keto diet which is good bc it eliminates sugar and allergen foods forgets the role of eating antioxidants. Matcha has far more wo the sugar. But I def also think the vit d thing has merit. But from what I've heard, myst be taken w k2 to be effective.
@@bamatina777 part. Heard about lglutamine thru dr klaper leaky gut video and other sources. But it seems to be working. But only when I elim all gluten dairy and combined w water fasting did it really kick in. I think it takes a bit of time bc the body needs time to get rid of gluten and dairy, like 3 to 4 weeks, and if ur def in vit d, u have to build that up.
I be been strict keto/IF 20 to 40 carbs a day a year. Psoriasis is not improved at all. It cleared slightly the first few weeks, but has since gone back. Taking vitamin D 2000 a day, B12, B complex, iron. My only sin is one diet coke. Any ideas welcome.
@KB-sv7fm other than beef and bacon I'm already AIP. Also starting histamine intolerance. Pretty soon I'll just be consuming water 24/7. Then probably something will come out against water ( like starvation will kill you) but I 'll be a gonner anyway. At this point I'm ready to burn the wagon to the ground, eat, drink and be merry and just say ____ it. I might even return to smoking, at least I'll be skinny when I go, and return to drinking, so I won't really care.
@KB-sv7fm apologies. You mean your tip in good nature. I'm just fed up. Starting to doubt all the comments about success as perhaps just a bunch of shills

I did not get psoriasis until i went gluten free. 8 years later, it was terrible, often mistaken for road rash on my elbows, . . But i refused a biologic. . (Biologic killed a loved one) . . Started to get psoriasis on my scalp as well now...so if anyone else has any ideas please let me know...we don't drink alcohol or smoke so we are SOL.
EvilTribble1- I think scar tissues have a lot tl do with food intolerance. I have very very bad keloid scars and certain foods makes them develop. They keep getting bigger over time and I have had to use heavy dose injections to shrink them. So stay away from those foods that you notice through observation and try digestion enzymes would be my suggestion. I got two bumps from my keloid and so itchy only 2 days after eating shrimps, chicken will make my keloids obviously twice as big after two weeks of eating a portion every day. If your case is not so servere, do compression for months may help. Best wishes to any one with keloid scars.
Nice video .. for sure , wheat , cows milk and sugar are the biggest culprits . IF does help skin a lot , but I am not sure about the keto in keto way ... sometimes ., all too much of animal proteins are difficult for skin patients and it tends to dehydrate their bodies also .. stress,, sleep and mild to moderate regular exercise are other important factors too !
What about raw milk and dairy? These foods are extremely nutrient dense and have been eaten by many indigenous tribes for thousands of years. The raw dairy has an abundance of beneficial bacteria to help heal our guts as well as supply our body with everything it needs. Weston Price and Aajonus Vonderplanitz recommend the consumption of raw dairy. What are your thoughts?
Raw diary from todays livestock is dangerous... The environment isn't the same, the animals feed different, even the water. Our toxic environment produces less healthy animals just as it does humans. I would be cautious before consuming raw diary in todays world, even if its organic its a gamble.
Raw milk and butter ARE amazing. But only if you can find them from truly organic chemical free grass fed operations. For us it's a herdshare. Look up Weston A. Price and his amazing work. But Dr. Ken Berry's main issue is I think the lactose or the cassenien in the milk for some people (with inflamed guts) can't tolerate it. But I would think when their guts heal they likely could consume those.
The sun is excellent for Psoriasis. One thing I think you forgot to mention was stress, stress is a huge factor as well. Also there are many forms and categories of Psoriasis, not all will respond to the same thing. You also need to find the main trigger. Insufficiently absorbing Vitamin D from the sun. Stress Gut and digestive issues Certain foods Inflammatory responses etc, etc. The list can be extensive.
@@foxhound9285 Stress causes a spike in the hormone cortisol (sometimes called the stress hormone). When your body produces high amounts of cortisol because of stress, your skin can become abnormally oily. This can then trigger an eczema outbreak. So how to reduce stress ? You can reduce cortisol production in your body by doing daily exercise. You really need to sweat daily.

Thank you for the important information. I have had psoriasis since about 1995. For a long time the disease was barely visible and I ignored it. In 2005 there was a marked worsening due to a lot of work, stress and little sleep (starting a family and young children, lots of overtime at work).
5 things help:
1. enough sleep,
2. fasting (I have been fasting for over a year, so far with bread and water three days a week) or eating sparingly in general,
2. regular exercise in the fresh air to relieve stress and have fun,
3. sunshine,
4. avoidance of sweets in favour of a low-carbohydrate, high-fat diet.
5. cheap skin creams from the supermarket or better: skin creams made from goat's milk.
I am 46 years old, slim and athletic: 1.90 m tall and weigh 83 kg (166 lbs). I have been slowly switching to keto for 2 weeks. Little by little, the red spots and dead skin cells are disappearing.
Give up the bread, gluten, and carbs, and you will get much better results.

Tanning beds worked for me also.
Vitd3 and vitk2 work together ❤ 💪 👌
Dr John Campbell videos ytube or Dr Berg will help
😅

She mentioned this to her dermatologist and asked what is it about her body and pregnancy that helped, and how can she start doing whatever it was to get rid of her psoriasis again. When pregnant, women's sex steroid hormones are high, which probably helped calm the psoriasis.
@@janonthemtn Yes, same happened with me. They say it's the progesterone that helps.

12-16+hrs
Vitamin d supplements
Sleep is important aswell try and get 6-8 hrs
And stress … major key.
Try to focus on how you react to stress and do things that make you feel good, have fun and self care.
Hope this helps
Or as dr Sean O’maura suggests feremented veg.

Keto did not make my psoriasis better in the slightest. If anything I ate too much meat which was acidic and caused inflammation
@@TheWafflesWorld meat isn't acidic and doesn't cause inflammation. Zero carb/Carnivore diets clear up a host of ailments for many who try them.

Now I'm completely whole food plant based and my skin has never been better. WHATEVER YOUR EATING, research if it is inflammatory or not. Cut out gluten and sugar.
Ken Berry!
You might want to try adding magnesium.

Thankyou, You are confirming what I have learnt but it is of great value hearing it from a trained medical physician.
Same goes for me. Nothing works. Metothrexat I don't want to inject. How's your progress now?

My psoriasis turned out to be "dermatitis herpetiformis" a result of gluten intolerance. Gave up wheat, which isnt easy to avoid, and the rash is gone.

I went vegan, that help clear my psoriasis. But I lost too much weight, looking and feeling hungry all the time. I may have to try this keto diet.

How have you improved with getting off of dairy?
Dr Ken Berry, great video, as usual. However, one heads up about Vitamin D3;
My psoriasis had settled down to a mild level, after changing to keto, etc, but I still wanted to try to get rid of it all.
Eric Kaz I thought he was talking about vitamin d not d3?
After 25 years with psoriasis, tried vitamin D3, 5,000 units for over a year but it didn't clear it here either. BUT oral CBD oil drops helped. Hope ur better.
Take magnesium (citrate). It works together with D3 and channels calcium. Also great for kidney stones caused by supplementing with calcium.
Maybe one day I won't need them.
thank you for the natural way to treat psorisis you are rigth farmaceutics do not have the answears for the treatments to bring releive for psorisis thank you
Follow antifungal diet and you will be healthy.
How did it go?
Steroids creams will thin your skin and only helps when you use it and is only treating a symptom of a diet issue.

Stress
Gut and digestive issues
Certain foods
Inflammatory responses
etc, etc. The list can be extensive.
Seems stress causes mines. My diet isn't great but I've been very active lately and going out a lot. My scalp has cleared a lot.
The sun might be good, but my skin get irritated, itching bad when outside in the heat.
You mentioned Liquid Dairy, is this just milk or does this included Kefir? How about cheese, yogurt etc?
