    I watched lots of videos on this and felt confident. Right side no problem. On drivers side i fought all day with the jam nut. PB, WD40, Hammer, heat . The only thing that worked was come back here to hear you say " turn the wheel the other way. Thank you.

    thanks for the video! IMPORTANT NOTE, 1 3/8 may not always be the size. I thought I was going crazy as the breaker bar kept getting off center and the footing would come off. The 1 5/16 was snug (needed light tapping to get it to seat) and spun properly. Then the new MevoTech part was one size even smaller.

    I was so worried this would be a very expensive and timely issue. You made it so simple for me. Probably saved me a couple hundred dollars. Quit and to the point… GREAT VIDEO, I don’t need to watch any other. You covered everything! Except, do I grease the inner joint before the boot goes on?

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive
      @ValleyMobileAutomotive  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad this video was helpful! The inner joint is pre-greased from the factory and shouldn't require any more 👍

    thank for video i just want to add 1 think that you didn't show which was unlock the locking washer behind inner tie rod and lock it after installed new inner tie rod by hammer it around end tie rod which is very important safety issue and you didn't show install the clamp around bigger side of boot that is kinda challenging. .

      These videos make it look easy because all they care about is the clicks they get.

    Is there a torque spec for the first threads you spin on when installing the new tie rod?

    Thank you so much for the video. My jam nut is very tight. There isn't much room to use longer handle wrench. Is it ok to heat the jam nut to loosen it?

    Good video tutorial. Is it necessary to bring it to alignment shop? Thanks

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive
      @ValleyMobileAutomotive  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Yes, while you might be able to get it pretty close an alignment is the only way to dial it in.

    another video showing the green inner tie rod slot had short arms and couldnt hold the clip to fit the ears. if you have short arms, then youll need a friend.

    Just fyi ... the torque spec for the inner tie rod is 50 ft/lbs.

  • @stellarv5689
    @stellarv5689 ปีที่แล้ว

    The boot on the passenger side is destroyed vs the driver side which is less damaged
    What could cause this?

    Why 62 pound torque in the inner tier rod if you are using the tool to remove it or is another tool that Toyota use to 42 pounds torque??

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive
      @ValleyMobileAutomotive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thanks for catching that! It must have been a typo. I just looked it up and the information I have is 43 foot pounds. I deleted that section of the video so others don't get the wrong information.

    So how many count to lose a tie rod end , I keeping searching for all the videos , but none of them so how many counts , cause I for got to counts for my van,

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive
      @ValleyMobileAutomotive  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The number of counts will be different for every van. The vehicle will still need to have an alignment. I would do about 17-20 counts and the alignment shop will take care of the fine tuning 👍

    What's the purpose of the boot?

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive
      @ValleyMobileAutomotive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To prevent water and dust from entering the inner tie rod joint.

      @@ValleyMobileAutomotive so thers no grease in it? jus the boot?

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive
      @ValleyMobileAutomotive  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@outoftime788 The outer tie rod boot does have grease under it. There is some grease in the inner tie rod as well but not as much as the outer. Both boots for the outer and inner protect the joint from water and dust intrusion.
