Holy cow I never noticed how clicky my keyboard and mouse are. I personally love the sound but I can see how it can be distracting for some, so I apologize in advance. If anyone has any good tips on removing the sound let me know!
Yeah sorry, gotta reneg my last comment; I got overexcited, and didn't realize I'd beaten S-III, not S-IV. I've played almost 4 dozen rounds of IV, and have gotten absolutely MERCED, using similar (and even slightly improved) strategies: Gotten to wave 16 twice and 18 once. I've never had a game of IV with less than 3 waves that were absolute objective hard-counters to my strat, and some where ~2/3rds of the waves were HARD hard-counters. There are VERY few "gimmie" waves on IV. You positive this video was on IV, and not III? Maybe the devs did a sneaky follow-on update.... that'd be pretty cruel if true.
Pretty easy to check if it's IV. Your units (aside from fangs and crawlers) start with only 2 bars of durability, while III starts with 3. I think the key is to build a strong core that LEVELS. Lvl 1 units will get absolutely destroyed. Also follow the general principles of building a balanced board containing: chaff, chaff clear, anti-air, anti-giant I talked a lot about anti-air in my game because it was one thing I was afraid of: wraith. It was one of the few rounds I lost. Another thing that can destroy me would be whirlwind rhinos with anti-air mustang support, but individually they would be ok.
fully upgraded crawlers beat any survival easily
- crawlers (no acid)
- boats with photon coating
- few wasps + few wraiths

That's pretty crazy, you made that look pretty straightforward.
