I really appreciate this video. I have a 95 Silverado Z71 and this is the perfect instructional video. You gave all the details and you didn't skip one step, too many times people don't cover every detail or they edit out too much. I hope you get sponsors.
Thank you so very much for noticing the attention to detail. I have gotten a few sponsors but would love more. I hope that you enjoy the other videos on the channel as well!
Very cool Tahoe I’ve got a 97 2 door as well, being in Canada mine is 4 wheel drive but I’ve lowered it and turned my tailgate into a sub box with 4 subs across it next will be an LS. swap it’s got the 5.7 in it now with a pro charger on it I’m building a 6.0l for it and I’m going to put that pro charger on it
Nicely done…since you have a Kenwood head unit.. and these now new Alpine 6.5 speakers, with the addition of the new 6x9s in the back roof. Did you find yourself installing a third party amplifier or the new head unit is powerful enough?
Hey man I just installed these exact speakers exact radio due to your video and I played the passenger side it was the only one connected but it sounded really bad bad quality would it be due to only have one side connected?
Yes, you need to have both speakers connected. Also make sure that you have the positive and negative correctly hooked up and that the polarity isn’t wrong. That can affect them. After that, play with not only your equalizer settings but also the many sound enhancing settings as well. Also select the size of speakers that you are running in the menu of the head unit. This makes a difference as well.
Yes it could, and looking for a blown fuse is what I would check first. There is one in the fuse box under the hood that I have found blown before on vehicles that made the OBD2 not work.
I already had an Alpine head unit and wanted to try a Kenwood head unit. I already had Alpine speakers and loved then so I wanted to stick with them. They are one of the best sounding and clean speakers that there is especially at a good price point.
I was laughing at how you were talking and then I shut and listen because I realized I didn't know what a component speaker was but you did. My bad Subscribing....
I’m confused about my vehicle and the component speakers I bought. The crossover for my speakers has an input for + and - and then there’s the positive and negative outputs for the woofer and the positive and negative outputs for the tweeter. I’m confused as to what wire I use for the crossover’s input. My vehicle has stock tweeters and stock door speakers. I bypassed the amp and everything is wired to the head unit. So I’m just confused as to what wires I connect to the crossover’s input.
They actually do a really good job on bass for not being a subwoofer and only being 6.5”. There wasn’t much bass in the music that I played. Someday I might add a subwoofer though.
Couple questions’ Nice install So …where did you purchase and what is that vapor barrier material brand on the door is that a sheet of sound barrier trimmed to cover where the oem plastic barrier was And where did you get those particular baffles for the 6.5” to adapt ? Do those type R speakers in the Obs Chevy doors reproduce a modern type of acoustical bass response that newer cars have . I was told the acoustic foam baffle inserts help if you use them
@Chevro91 here is the link to the sound deadening material. I used it for better sound quality and noise cancellation or what was happening outside of the vehicle. amzn.to/3uCfjH1
The plastic baffles that I mounted the speakers with came with the actual speakers which I think I showed in the video. Here is the link to the foam ring baffles. 2 Roadkill RKFR6 3-Piece Foam Ring Speaker Enhancement System - 6" & 6.5" Speakers

It would be so easy if they made the speaker cover Removeable Remove speaker and push the cover on
Very true

They would sound better amplified?
You could amplify them, but I am not getting that into it. They sound just fine to me without an amp.

So far the head unit has been powerful enough.

Turn on loudness for good sound at low volumes
I have loudness on level 2. I don’t like too much loudness because you start to lose clarity.

Question I got a 99 Chevy Tahoe z71 but the obd2 not working what could it be even thoe all the fuses are working

Which amplifier you have used? And what's the RMS of each channel?
I am running them right off of the head unit.
Going to sound good 👍
It does sound good!
I'm curious as to why you went Kenwood head unit and Alpine speakers?

Awesome!
Thanks, they sound amazing.
What happens if I use the woofers without the tweeters would I still get voice ??
Yes you would in that case. Only if you use the woofers in some sort of a subwoofer configuration would they have no voice.
@titoham-DCXLsthey play down to 65hz and not 60hz.
First time I've seen the panel that way lol
