      @@escapeontime so it is not accessible to transit passengers, is it?

    • @escapeontime
      @escapeontime  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yes, Jewel is accessible to transit passengers. We have discussed this in another comment below. For other viewers reading this thread, here’s a summary:
      At Singapore Changi Airport, layover passengers need to pass through immigration to visit Jewel. If your country doesn’t require a visa to enter Singapore, you can use the kiosk, scan your passport, and visit Jewel. Short-term travelers from visa-required countries must apply for a visa. However, eligible travelers can use the Visa-Free Transit Facility (VFTF) for stays of less than 96 hours. This applies to nationals of certain countries, including India and the People's Republic of China (PRC).
      Key points about VFTF:
      - You must be in transit to or from a third country via Singapore.
      - You must have a valid onward air or sea ticket departing within 96 hours.

    My connecting flight is at T3 so can i just stay in T3 and go to the jewel with the linking bridge there?

    • @escapeontime
      @escapeontime  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      To access Jewel Changi Airport, you'll need to exit the transit area at T3 and clear immigration, as Jewel is located outside the transit area. The connecting bridge only connects terminals within the transit area. If you have time and want to explore, you can easily transfer from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1, clear immigration, and then walk to Jewel as shown in our video.

    Thanks for the helpful video. So to get back to the departure terminals from the Jewel, you just go back the same way through immigration?

    • @escapeontime
      @escapeontime  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      To return to the departure terminals from the Jewel, you won't backtrack the same way. Instead, follow a slightly different path. Head in the same general direction, but keep an eye out for the 'Departure' signs. Upon reaching this area, security will check your bag and may ask a couple of questions before allowing you through. Plan for an extra 15 minutes for this process. 🛄
      When entering Singapore, you likely used a kiosk to scan your passport based on your country of citizenship. On the way back into the airport, however, manual passport checks will be conducted. It's still a straightforward process, and airport staff are available throughout. If you ever feel unsure about the direction, don't hesitate to ask one of them or follow the prominent signs.
      I'm delighted that you found the video helpful. Enjoy your time at the Jewel-it's truly a visual masterpiece! I'm planning to bring my family there this year during our 7-hour layover at Singapore Changi Airport. ✈

    Do we need any transit permissions for visiting the jewel?? I have layover so thought of visiting

    • @escapeontime
      @escapeontime  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You don't need any transit permission to visit Jewel, but upon arrival in Singapore, you may need a visa based on your country of citizenship. If your country requires a visa for Singapore, ensure you obtain it before your layover. If your country does not require a Singaporean Visa, you simply go to Terminal 1 like in the video and proceed through passport immigration by scanning your passport to enter Singapore. An attendant will guide you to the appropriate lane based on your passport.
      Remember to fill out the SG Arrival Card in advance, at least 3 days prior: 📋👉 eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard.

    Planning to travel bangkok from india... I've a 4 hour layover in terminal 1. Do i need to apply for singapore visa ? Or i can see the jewel for free ?

    • @escapeontime
      @escapeontime  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you for asking a great question and for stopping by our channel! As an Indian citizen, you have two options if you want to visit Jewel and leave the transit area:
      1. **Singapore Visa**: You'll need to apply for a Singapore visa if you plan to leave the transit area unless you're eligible for the VFTF.
      2. **96-Hour Visa-Free Transit Facility (VFTF)**: If you're eligible for VFTF, you won’t need a Singapore visa, but you must have a valid visa or long-term pass (with a validity of at least one month from the date of entry into Singapore under the VFTF) issued by and/or good for entry into any of the following countries: Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the UK, or the USA. You also need to be transiting to or from a third country through Singapore and have a confirmed onward flight.
      Keep in mind, Jewel is located in Singapore proper, so you'll need to pass through immigration to visit. If you meet the VFTF requirements, you'll be able to explore Jewel. However, we recommend having at least 5 hours of transit time to comfortably explore and return for your departing flight.
      In short, without a valid visa for one of the listed countries or a Singapore visa, you won’t be able to clear immigration to visit Jewel.
      Enjoy your time in Bangkok, and please stay connected with us!

    Hi .. we have a layover of 7 hrs . We will be travelling from kualalumpur with a layover at changi and then finally to mumbai.
    Can we visit jewel in that time ? And what documents will we need

    • @escapeontime
      @escapeontime  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi Palak! A 7-hour layover should give you plenty of time to explore Jewel Changi Airport. Just ensure you return to the airport at least 2 hours before your departure, leaving you with a comfy 4 hours to enjoy the magnificent Jewel.
      Whether you need a visa to enter Singapore depends on your nationality. If your country doesn't require a visa, all you need is an SG Arrival Card (Singapore's health declaration) to visit Jewel at Singapore Changi Airport. Check the video's description for a link with more details.
      Remember, Jewel is in Singapore, not within the airport itself. To access Jewel, go through immigration and have your travel documents, permits, entry visas (if applicable), and Singapore's health declaration card ready for a smooth clearance process. @escapeontime  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, a visa is required for visiting Jewel Changi Airport in Singapore. Make sure to check the visa requirements for your country beforehand to ensure a smooth visit! Indian passport holders will need a visa to enter Singapore, and all travelers will need to complete an SG Arrival Card before clearing immigration.

    Thanks for the tips, but if i only have 3hrs layover in T1, should it be enough to visit Jewel and hv lunch there?

    • @escapeontime
      @escapeontime  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      With a 3-hour layover in Terminal 1, visiting Jewel and grabbing lunch is feasible but tight, especially if traveling solo with a smooth immigration process. Allocate 30 minutes to reach Jewel, 60 minutes for exploration including the Canopy Bridge and rain vortex spots, and another 30 minutes to return to the terminal and walk to your gate. Plan a quick bite for lunch to stay on schedule, aiming to be at your departure gate 45 minutes prior.
      Viewers have successfully explored Jewel within a 3 and 1/2-hour layover, using our video guides to navigate efficiently. For more tips and insights, check out our 'Discover Jewel Changi Airport' playlist 👉

      @@escapeontime does a layover passenger can cross immigration? I think (as experience from other international airports) they are directed to the transfer gate and not allowed to cross the immigration and allowed to go outside the airport.

      @@joydeepbhaduri9015 Yes, in Singapore Changi Airport, layover passengers need to pass through immigration to visit Jewel. If you don't need a visa to enter Singapore, you can use the kiosk, scan your passport, and visit Jewel. For example, U.S. citizens can enter using the kiosk. Jewel is adjacent to Terminal 1, as shown in our video.
      I had over an 8-hour layover at Changi Airport. Being a United States citizen, I did not have to apply for a visa. I used the kiosk immigration lane at Terminal 1, as shown in the video, and went to Jewel.

      Indian passport holders planning to visit Singapore must obtain a visa before their trip, as there is no visa on arrival option for Indian citizens. The recommended process is to apply for an electronic visa, also known as an eVisa, which will be emailed to you in PDF format upon approval.
      Once you have the visa, you can follow the steps explained in the video to visit Jewel. Remember, all travelers need to complete an SG Arrival Card before clearing immigration.
