Console players have short memories, after 2 or 3 years most games r dead or dying. PC communities can stay alive for a decade or more. I can understanding console players, like myself, valuing simplicity . Modding can get VERY frustrating. But that's about it. I would say stability but these days most big games r being released in Alpha states so.... I'd say that makes PC more valuable because most modders will patch up a solution before the companies do.

It’s actually a clever business tactic for Rockstar to release the game earlier for consoles and later for pc, so they can potentially make more sales for all the people who buy it on both. If they released the PC version alongside the console version, the people who own consoles and a PC will just buy the PC version. Idk if that’s the actual reason why they did it with this and GTA V, but it’s possible.
Ras well GTA 5 was first launched near the launch of the next gen consoles, so they may have wanted more time to actually make the game look better on next gen. Most launch titles looked the same on next and last gen, so there it makes more sense. I am sure getting people to buy it twice was a nice bonus as well though.

If you wait to release on PC, the PC gamers with consoles might buy the game for the console, and then buy it again for PC. You double your money on those people. Regarding Last Man: I went to an interview for a senior software developer role once and I was asked a question that has stuck with me since. I was asked are you a producer or a consumer? I was taken aback at first and asked for clarification. The interviewer wanted to know if I enjoy creating or consuming. I'm a prototype developer, so of course my emphatic answer was creating. I thought about it since and I try to balance the need for getting something out there quick and innovation. The problem with the Last Man is that they lack innovation, nor do they have any desire for innovation. They think Utopia is upon us now - or at least they think they are living a version of Utopia themselves and those who don't consume exactly what they consume must not be in Utopia at all. Dark Souls was ported in response to a petition. They do work sometimes. But mostly for japanese devs that don't otherwise know that PC gamers are interested in their games, since the PC is not a big platform in japan they often just forget about it.
As a mostly console gamer, I'm happy to hear RdR2 is coming to PC finally, simply because everyone should be able to experience the game. People that bitch about modding typically have been on the bad end of modders. Modding is great, as long as it's used constructively.

No driver errors, no configuration issues, and cheaper. You can build a gaming computer for the same, but it will suck, and peripherals add up. literally playing Control today, I had to turn off vsync because it was capping at 30 and going in slow motion when my monitor clearly says 60hz. Screen tearing like shit, I had to go into borderless. Don’t let anyone tell you PC gaming is simple or always worth it. If there is a game you want to play then do what you need to play it and stop there. I finished 100+ games this year across a dozen platforms and I wish I could say that I cared about graphics but I don’t. Some of us just like playing games; not looking at them.

As a player who played GTA 5 on xbox 360 and the PC as well as someone playing rdo on ps4 and already preordered rdr on PC, I can tell you this - modding itself? Great way to get more fun, I modded my gta5 with vr and wheel support and boy was it fun. The problem arises when modding singleplayer and online is basically the same because of lobby based system. Then you get the shitfest that gta online became. God mode, no clip, money spawning. You face someone like this while trying to do a mission in free roam and you may as well quit.

@@serlistogiette4168 oh don't try to do that. Game is free of hackers only on patch days. And even that lasts hours sometimes. I remember the end of the world heist update. We had a god mode fucker on us within hours of the release. You might have actually not seen many hackers because you don't do much on free roam. The moment you do and you do with friends because even with the respawns, it gives you quite an adrenaline rush to defend the payload because in game money is at stake. If you do put up a good fight any silent cheater goes batshit and nukes the whole session. Hell, rockstar cant even deal with that but they will sure as hell ban you if that hacker that slipped past their anti cheat drops you money without you having a chance to say no.
I dont think it actually takes a year. I believe rockstar actually developed the PC version alongside the the console version. They held off on it to build hype, and so that people will buy it two times.

@@Kratos510e well I mean I'm on console but I've dabbled in a few PC games and honestly modding just brings so much more to the table. Plus the game life. Console players have short memories, after 2 or 3 years most games r dead or dying. PC communities can stay alive for a decade or more.
I can understanding console players, like myself, valuing simplicity . Modding can get VERY frustrating. But that's about it. I would say stability but these days most big games r being released in Alpha states so.... I'd say that makes PC more valuable because most modders will patch up a solution before the companies do.

well considering the first one never came to PC and there was no official confirmation it was coming until recently, of course people are surprised.
It’s actually a clever business tactic for Rockstar to release the game earlier for consoles and later for pc, so they can potentially make more sales for all the people who buy it on both. If they released the PC version alongside the console version, the people who own consoles and a PC will just buy the PC version. Idk if that’s the actual reason why they did it with this and GTA V, but it’s possible.
Ras well GTA 5 was first launched near the launch of the next gen consoles, so they may have wanted more time to actually make the game look better on next gen. Most launch titles looked the same on next and last gen, so there it makes more sense. I am sure getting people to buy it twice was a nice bonus as well though.

I play on console and I could honestly care less, yeah consoles have their restrictions but I've enjoyed the game nonetheless. Super high graphics arent important to me if it's a game I just flat out enjoy.

Regarding Last Man: I went to an interview for a senior software developer role once and I was asked a question that has stuck with me since. I was asked are you a producer or a consumer? I was taken aback at first and asked for clarification. The interviewer wanted to know if I enjoy creating or consuming. I'm a prototype developer, so of course my emphatic answer was creating. I thought about it since and I try to balance the need for getting something out there quick and innovation. The problem with the Last Man is that they lack innovation, nor do they have any desire for innovation. They think Utopia is upon us now - or at least they think they are living a version of Utopia themselves and those who don't consume exactly what they consume must not be in Utopia at all. Dark Souls was ported in response to a petition. They do work sometimes. But mostly for japanese devs that don't otherwise know that PC gamers are interested in their games, since the PC is not a big platform in japan they often just forget about it.
As a mostly console gamer, I'm happy to hear RdR2 is coming to PC finally, simply because everyone should be able to experience the game. People that bitch about modding typically have been on the bad end of modders. Modding is great, as long as it's used constructively.

No driver errors, no configuration issues, and cheaper. You can build a gaming computer for the same, but it will suck, and peripherals add up. literally playing Control today, I had to turn off vsync because it was capping at 30 and going in slow motion when my monitor clearly says 60hz. Screen tearing like shit, I had to go into borderless.
Don’t let anyone tell you PC gaming is simple or always worth it. If there is a game you want to play then do what you need to play it and stop there.

As a player who played GTA 5 on xbox 360 and the PC as well as someone playing rdo on ps4 and already preordered rdr on PC, I can tell you this - modding itself? Great way to get more fun, I modded my gta5 with vr and wheel support and boy was it fun. The problem arises when modding singleplayer and online is basically the same because of lobby based system. Then you get the shitfest that gta online became. God mode, no clip, money spawning. You face someone like this while trying to do a mission in free roam and you may as well quit.

@@elemat28 I only met cool hackers and such but even if this was the case it sounds like the norm in GTA. You'd be insane to do anything productive in a public lobby. With the terrible respawn system...
@@serlistogiette4168 oh don't try to do that. Game is free of hackers only on patch days. And even that lasts hours sometimes. I remember the end of the world heist update. We had a god mode fucker on us within hours of the release. You might have actually not seen many hackers because you don't do much on free roam. The moment you do and you do with friends because even with the respawns, it gives you quite an adrenaline rush to defend the payload because in game money is at stake. If you do put up a good fight any silent cheater goes batshit and nukes the whole session. Hell, rockstar cant even deal with that but they will sure as hell ban you if that hacker that slipped past their anti cheat drops you money without you having a chance to say no.

I dont think it actually takes a year. I believe rockstar actually developed the PC version alongside the the console version. They held off on it to build hype, and so that people will buy it two times.
