Lovely paint job. I think I've watched all of your Bretonian videos now and this is my favourite finished mini of the ones you've shown. Very well done. Off to watch your Tomb Kings vids now methinks.
Thank you for this video. I've just begun painting up Romano-British city militia to inhabit Silchester, and all of what you demonstrated is very helpful!
It’s very simple, but that’s very helpful with loads to paint. I stole it from Juan Hidalgo Miniatures on an early video where he was testing the paints.
Lovely paintjob. I have about twenty of the perry citadel ones i have been workig on. Old base sizes here so i will have to be creative with the sabot.
Great video. Because of Oathmark, I already have my fantasy armies done, and based in 25mm square bases. I also started with Warhammer Fantasy, in the now distant past, but my enthusiasm is more moderate.
Thank you. I’ve not tried Oathmark, but that basing definitely sounds handy. I’d sold all my stuff so new basing isn’t an issue really, though I have built and based a Dwarf army on 20s, but only painted a handful, so will probably rebase those before I paint.
@@MiniatureRealms I gave my armies away to my brothers, so I am in the same position. I have already rebased all my historical miniatures in 25 mm because of Saga, and restarted my fantasy armies in that basing. I actually prefer it to 20mm.
Im working on my Bretonnian army to, I've had them since the game was discontinued but as it returns I'm painting them up. Heraldry is the hardest part I'm finding
Yep without decals it can be very time consuming. It will be interesting to see if GW bring out a new decal sheet with the returning models, or just reprint the old ones.
@@MiniatureRealms I think they'll probably bring the old ones back from whats been said but some of the new characters may prompt a newer set of decals. As you say it'll be interesting to see. Either way it'll be fun customising the different heraldrys of the knights
Great work as always Stu. My all metal Beastmen have already migrated to 25mm round bases for Saga Magic, Oathmark etc and my all metal Dark Elves will probably make the same journey (though im holding off for now) so that all my 28mm figures will be on round bases. I’m not worried as I’ll solve the ranking problem via an MDF movement tray; I expect there’ll be lots of 3rd Party choice. What to do with the Khemri (which I’ll definitely keep)? Round bases again I think 🤔 Opinion seems divided about whether the game is this year or next. My money is on a November release for Christmas as by then 10th edition 40k will be in the rear view mirror and the Kill Team season 2 releases have been accelerated (to make space?).
Round base’s definitely sound like a great option if you’re using them to play all those different systems. Movement trays will be a perfect solution. I’m not sure about when, I’ve heard conflicting rumours myself. It’s possible that they may change some plans and swap things around as well, I’d imagine that they might have things queued up ready to go, covid delayed a lot of things. Factory and warehouse capacity has been their biggest issue recently, not only because of covid, but also with the warehouse expansions. We know they have 40k this summer, and it’s very likely that AOS is due next summer. It’s rumoured Epic is due, and we know TOW is close, so I’d say it’s down to which of those best fits into the Autumn/Winter slot. I think TOW is best, it matches 40 years of Warhammer better, and spreads it between 40k and Fantasy. That would mean they could have Epic (40k) and AOS (Fantasy) split next year. But that’s a huge guess based on very little information. Hopefully we will get some news this weekend.
Hello! Great video, thanks! What do you think of vallejo xpress black lotus for the boots? I hesitate between this one and the 2 contrast black from citadel for me to buy but I can’t decide ...
Thank you 🙂. I think they all do the job well, the Vallejo has cleaner blue tones, the Black Legion is darker with hints of brown, and Templar is somewhat in between, but more to to the blue tone.
@MiniatureRealms What brushes do you use with contrasts? they seem to just blow my citadel layer brushes up into the size of emulsion decorating brushes 🤣Not sure if its a skill issue or if i could do with a more appropriate brush with a larger belly to hold the contrast.
Very nicely done Stuart!!
Thank you Andrew

Thank you very much 😊
Lovely painting, Stuart!
Thank you Daniel 🙂

Thank you Anthony, glad you’ve found a some bits of use 🙂
The skin recipe is very nice! Definetly gonna use that one

Thank you. I love those old Perry sculpts, bet they will look amazing.
Fantastic work as always, a really enjoyable video.
Thank you Gary 😊

These videos are great please keep them coming!
Thank you 😊
Excellent tutorial, and very interesting to hear your thoughts on the motivation behind the project. Good luck with the painting and at Crack Con 4.
Thank you 😊
Fantastic video thanks! Would love your take on some wood elves, archers or eternal guard :)
Thank you Richard, I’ll add those suggestions to my list of maybes.
I still have a stack of those two-pose plastic Bretonnian Archer sprues from 5th (I think). Last time I dug them out was for a Frostgrave Warband.
I’ve got a few of those to add to the unit I’m working on, still quite fond of them.
Damn, I can't like it twice. ;) I like this warhammer series of yours. :)
Thank you Jim (quite a bit more to come) 😊
I'd love to see you do the classic 5th edition bowmen!
I’ve definitely got some in my army, I’ll be following pretty much the same scheme with them though.
Looks great! Think I’ll venture out from my GW contrast safety zone having seen some of those others in action. Might also pick up some cat litter! 😂
Thank you Jack, there’s definitely some good alternatives to Contrast now, well worth trying a few.

Great work!! Would love to see you paint up a high elf model - Spearman or Archer possibly?
Thank you 😊
High Elf is on the list, possibly a couple more first, but this summer.
I am gonna finish painting my Bretonian Archers for Age of Sigmar soon!
That’s awesome, I’ve seen quite a few on rounds recently and they look great.
Would like to see orc or goblin painting tutorial. : )
I definitely have Night Goblin on my list, I’ll see if I can steal an Orc from my son.
nice
Thank you

I use Rosemary & Co Series 33 (short handle), mostly sizes 2, 1 & 0. I can highly recommend them.
Have you got an update video/image of the entire unit/army painted in this scheme?
There are some videos planned soon that will discuss/show the progress.
What game matt do you use?
I’ve got loads, but I think the one in this video would have most likely been a summer fleece mat from Geek Villain.
