I’m happy you won this challenge, and it was fun watching you get out of your comfort zone with this spearhead. The paintjob reminds me of the Craftworlds studio's style and I love it. I wouldn’t paint a whole army this way, but for a spearhead it looks like a fun challenge, and I might try it one day.
Dude! I love the blue and magenta in the stone, it makes it feel like some sort of tainted or cursed ground or even like the curse upon them is sinking into the ground
These turned out great, i really like how the magenta to yellow transition really reads well as dead flesh - which i thought you wouldn't be able to achieve with such strong colours
I had the exact same experience with oil paints on my FEC army, including the re-highlighting. I didn't like the result but over the months they've grown on me. The magenta to yellow highlight on the skin looks sick!
Its a very rough time getting the oils to come off - never making that mistake again (I hope). Glad you are coming back around on yours though, it really is a fun army
Looks great! My personal take on Ghouls for VC (I still play Fantasy) is to give the Ghouls a Dead-Flesh base, followed by Pale Flesh airbrush, then oil on a turquoise paint, to give them a "cold, dead hands" look
Wow, in the first 2 and a half minutes, you demonstrated that your and my tastes in minis are on completely opposite ends XD (which is not a problem at all, I just found it interesting). Now let's see what the rest of the video brings
1st time viewer (WTF TH-cam algorithm - lift your game!?!) - Awesome vid!, Subbed, and I'm going to work through your back catalogue. Great painting & colour scheme, plus editing and loved the commentary. Thanks!
A deserved win I think - the cities of Sigmar looked cool, but the way you made those colours work was awesome. I particularly liked the chromatic shadows on the otherwise neutral bases
Well in the unlucky events i think you are quiet fortunate. You have add another level of deepness in your color scheme. Yeah, you hate this line of models, but now you can look them and say: "I win you and have make you of color of my kind."
That was a tough call for sure!!! The Cities army had some awesome points, but I think those Flesh Eaters really had the originality! Good on ye both!!!
Appreciating the heraldry and character of the FEC more the more time you spend near them? Uh oh... But seriously, I've been trying to come up with a scheme for my ghouls that avoids that muddiness you mention when on placed on the table, and this helped give me some ideas. Thanks!
For future use on yellow the best yellow I know of is the pure pigment bismuth yellow from proacryl’s rogue hobbies set. Unbelievably saturated pure bismuth bliss
Looove these! Though even before the Chaotic intervention, I just assumed you'd make them this unique and strange 😄 Man, this has really inspired me to paint as soon as I can (alas, self-employment + capitalism) Great video, as usual. Top banana.
im so confused how it looks so good i watched every step and it jsut doesnt compute god i realy need to train not sure wht the hell i need to improve on but i know that that makes no logical sense
Not gonna lie, i also thought flesh eater courts were kinda boring and mid, but you BLEW my mind with that paint scheme! I think GW's paint scheme is what i don't like, its just kinda boring imo.
Hey! Lesson probably learned, not sure what happened so maybe totally uncontrollable, but yeah just make sure that you have the time set aside to take care of it the next day and know you can't put it off. Sounds like with it being 9 days it might have been serious, hope all is well! I don't like these models either, but you did a really good job with them.
Yup. GW destroyed this army in the newest edition. They were in a great place for the few months we had the book last edition, and then they just dumpstered it all.
im sorry but i dont why ppl think need to dry oil wash for a day esp on 9 days? Your not the first time i have heard this story from others just saying so i get it. u can just dry them for like 1 hr and your good to go. effect looks dope tho
Dude came to the Vaperwave guy and really said "Ha! I shall make you paint in the classic colors of vaporwave! You cannot succeed!"
It was a bold strategy for sure
Maybe I just wanted you to make me a custom episode about neon vampires and this was all a sneaky ruse to make it happen!
Great collaboration! Really love the look you accomplished with that saturation level. Congrats on the W.
Thanks Boylei!!
Ah awesome to see Boylei commenting on a CC Minis video! A couple of my favorite mini creators!

I personally preferred the Flesh eaters as well. Great use of my colors and applied well. I actually prefer cities models over flesh water.

Around 15 minutes is enough time for the staining power of a wash, anything after is diminishing returns.
I love the “pop” that the yellow adds! Have you thought about doing a video on color theory and picking out paint schemes?
Thats a great idea for a video!
Love your methodology in painting this army. Your tenacity to see it through. Loved this video!
Thank you!
Loved the Ant Man reference in this vid, what a scene with Michael Peña 🤩
Awesome vid as usual! 😄
He is soooo good in those movies - thanks for noticing!
I really enjoy your videos. The narration, the editing, the camera quality ... 👌

Love the bold colours and really fun format for a challenge.

The little rant about the 'Meat between your brain' and sticking to your guns on the color is what made me want to subscribe!
You… you turned the Flesh Eater courts into an army of Marge Simpsons. I love it.
The way the colours interact makes me instantly think of the classic Mordheim cover- so Im a fan.
Such a good piece
This was a really great watch and Im happy I stumbled upon it. Great stuff man
Thank you - glad you enjoyed it!
I'm honestly amazed how much of that magenta oil wash you got up after 8 days!
It was a good 6-8 hours of scrubbing 🙃 worth it!

Your video editing is crisp dude. Love it.
Thanks Mark!
"Worst Army" but thats not Stormcast?
Have you seen the CROW CAVALRY !?!?!
@CCMinis ok in fairness those are pretty sick
Your lack of a smoke machine almost lost it for you lol nice work dude 🙌
Curiously enough, the only thing that went through my mind when I heard "bonus points for the smoke machine" was Oh no, not again

=D
I loved the blue and magenta, but the yellow skin tone didn't do it for me. I still would have given those the win though!
Great looking army and awesome video man!
Thanks PKT! Much appreciated =]

I love it! Your videos are always an instant watch for me.

@CCMinis why the one with a friendly neighbor named Ned and a nuclear power plant

That is just categorically incorrect, their sculpts and lore have been fire recently
