I was at Rock City and rode the Incline.....56 years ago when I was 7 years old. I remember riding it with my father. My mother was deathly afraid of heights and would not ride it. I would love to go back there one day soon.
When u park there make sure u get ur parking ticket before u park. We parked an then went and got out parking ticket which was 1minute 38sec an came back to place parking ticket in the car. Got back to the car an there was a ticket on the wipers from the parking lot police lady and she wasn't nice at all. Took forever to get it straightened out
Good evening, is the switch that transforms the railway from a single track into a double track railway electrically operated? What is the function of the single needle switch placed a few meters from the top station? Here in continental Europe, most of the single-track funiculars with a crossing loop placed midway are equipped with pointless switches of the type devised by the Swiss engineer Abt. In my city, Genoa, there is also a rack railway equipped with Abt-type switches, probably the only case in the world.
My first trip on the incline was in 1980. The old cars were the best. They were honest, warm and caring. The new ones give you that nasty commercial, in it for the buck type of feeling we are all trying to escape day to day.
Its so Beautiful the view
Also, wheelchair accessible and can't ask for a better, accessible view of Lookout Mountain! Totally fun!

It looks fantastic but unfortunately I couldn’t do it. I’m terrified of heights it must be a stunning experience.
Enjoy
Amazing ride. Going to add this to my list of "to Do" for our trip to Chattanooga! Thanks.
Going here next Spring…
I went there over memorial day weekend and I'm going back this fall

No way this incline is one mile long !!
Are you saying it’s more, or are you saying it’s less?
