I've said it before and I'll say it again! You offer one of the very best cooking channels available. Delicious Spanish cuisine, healthy food beautifully and practically presented. Thanks so very much!
🐙fritters: 1/2 cup all purpose flour (60 grams) 1 large egg 1/2 cup (120ml) sparkling water, club soda, or beer 1 shallot, finely chopped 2 cloves garlic 🧄, roughly chopped 2 Tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (8grams) sea salt and fresh ground black pepper, to taste zest of 1/2 a lemon One 4oz can (120 grams) of sardines in olive oil, drained...(you can save the oil to use in something else later if you like) 1/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil (60ml) for frying Fry fritters 3 minutes per side
Thanks Albert! Another great recipe! I started the Mediterranean Diet about two years ago and it's changed my life. I have seven tins of Sardines in my pantry right now, and I'm going to make this very soon.
Creative use of an ashtray for the mayo! My partner is Gluten intolerant so I am going to make the fritters with chickpea flower. That is tonight's dinner sorted. Thanks, Geeza.
Thank you for this recipe. I have sardines but cannot eat bread (gluten free) so need another recipe to utilize them. (will substitute a different flour as well). One of my favorite memories of going to school in Valencia, Spain was listening to the very early street vendors selling fresh sardines. As an American, it was this that made me try eating sardines, and now love sardines. If I remember correctly the sardines were fatter than the canned ones. Just know they were always delicious. Thanks for the memories and this recipe.
My wife is gluten-free, and she swears by Bob’s Red Mill gluten-free all-purpose baking flour. Apparently it cooks and bakes almost exactly the same as regular flour.
This is a great recipe. I am only going to switch out the wheat flour for 1 to 1 gluten free flour which should crisp up just fine. I use it for fish n chips all the time with a very similar beer batter. I have a bunch of sardine tins I need to eat through and can't wait to try this!
Those fritters are looking really delicious Albert! They kind of remind me of Puerto Rican bacalaitos. They use salted cod and the flavor profile is different but they're made in a similar way and they're delicious. I'm going to give these a try. Especially because my husband and kids all LOVE sardines. Yay! I'm excited to try them 😋
Just made these and eating them now. Great recipe. I used chick pea flour and it worked fine. Very yum. Also forgot the lemon zest probably cause I’m not a fan. Did not make sauce as lazy but they go very nice with both mayo or chilli relish. Also used a good Aussie beer in the batter. 🦘🇦🇺🍺
Wife and me are making this right NOW 😅🎉 Just moved to Fuengirola and wanna get more healthy! About to taste it soon . We also made your batatas bravas with the pimenta picante (i think its called) on the side to this recipe! BUT we used apparently japanese red potatoes, which we bought from a vegetable/fruit store here instead of sweet potatoes and they taste amazing
Albert: Delicious. Sardines - my favorite! I have everything now, so a definite WILL-make. Thanks again. (Fan from San Francisco, California.) *!!~ _PS: I've seen how you've used olive_ _oil left over from canned tuna. What about from canned sardines?_
Hi Albert! Great recipe! I like sardines. They're easy to cook with and fun to cook with. And also, i like fritters a lot. They are so much fun to make. I love making fritters! ❤ Will there be a new video on Friday like always? I can't wait! 🎉🎉🎉

Why do some people like chewing with their mouths opened? Because they were never taught manners. Chewing with your mouth open is a disgusting habit. Nobody wants to hear the noise and see your food as you chew it.
This is happening tonight! Alberto, your ideas are always great! Simple , quick and healthy!

I saw a recipe for Portuguese fritters on a different site using potatoes - maybe that style is worth a try!

❤😮 buenísimo el bocaditos de aperitivo de sardina voy a cocinar esta misma noche😮
Muchas gracias!
Hoy lo hago. Es como un primo lejano del “Bacalaíto” Boricua. 😀
Buen provecho!
Since the sardines are going to be broken up, I'd use the less expensive large sardines.... I like to save the smalls to eat whole.
You could, but the smaller ones have a deeper flavor, giving these fritters a lift of goodness :) Much love
@@SpainonaFork I'll try it....but it will break my heart.

You can use the oil from the canned sardines as a salad dressing or even to cook up some scrambled eggs :) Much love

I was just wondering what’s for lunch today? I guess it’s sardine fritters. Thanks Albert.
Hope you enjoy! Much love :)
Yum.
Much love :)
Can I use wheat flour and Sardines with water? I those kind?
Yes you can! Much love :)
nice, is there any gluten-free alternative ?
I am going to try it with gluten free flour
Can ya do the same thing with tuna?
Can you use the olive oil from the sardine tin as either part of the frying oil or as part of the aioli? It seems a shame to waste it.
If you like, I prefer not to use it as it will overpower the rest of the flavors :) Much love

My phone hung on an ad for 42 seconds before I could watch.😢😢😢
You can touch the time numbers on the ad, and it will go to the screen for "block this ad/report this ad", you can block it then.
I do have sardines.
Das Rezept ist so einfach, ich glaube nicht, dass ich deinem folgen werde

Matie I watched this - brilliant as ever but - i have a strange seafood allergy.
So it's a yes but definitely no for me 😂
