Just wanted to say " Thank You" for your great videos. You put a lot of time and energy into them. I appreciate them and appreciate your love for quality boots.
Wow thanks! I do it for fun and love of boots AND the majority open friendliness of the boot community, but it’s always feel-good to get appreciation like this! 🙏
@@Bootlosophy You're awesome man! Keep up with the great videos. We really appreciate them!
phenomenal, i love that smoke rambler!!!! and THANK YOU for the shoutout Teik!!!!!!!!!
It is always a pleasure to watch your videos and the insights that you bring concerning the boot world. Enjoy your holidays and time off and look forward to more in the new year.
Another classic. Great pacing, succinct yet thoughtful descriptions and analysis. And charming.
First video I’ve seen of yours and I’m beyond impressed! Your extensive description of the boot and even going into detail about cleaning and sizing was the kind of review I’ve been looking to see. Keep up the great work and I’m now a subscriber✌️
Thank you for your reviews, they are very detailed and hit every aspect needed when choosing or looking into a particular brand/model/make. I hope your channel gets 100k subscribers in 2023!!!!
Well my new smoke ramblers came in today and am really impressed with them. Fit is perfect and they will certainly last for a while. Thanks again for the well done video!
I just ordered my first pair of Truman Smoke Ramblers. Thanks in great part to your video here. I found your detailed descriptions wonderfully done. I own a pair of Redwing Iron Rangers but am hoping for more of a look like these seem to offer. Thanks again 👍
Up to 10 pairs of Trumans now, I’m addicted. I’d definitely put them in the same class as White’s or Nicks. 🤘😎🧐
I mean 14 🙄🤷♂️😬
I'm addicted too. Truman and Viberg are my favorites.
@@liljuanito123 Cool!👍😎
How has the sizing worked out for you? My first pair of Truman’s I just received are 1/2 to 1 size too large, first time this has happened to me on a boot purchase.
@@Cmez872 I’m a 9D Brannock, I wear an 8.5D Truman in all three of their lasts. The 20 is narrower in the heel and wider in the toe box, the 79 is a standard work boot last being more uniform and the 55 last is the narrower of the three. You may want to consult Truman for a better fit, their customer service is good and they should be able to help.🤘😎👞
@@davidcallan7844 Thx for that information, you went down a 1/2 a size, and that’s what I should have done in hindsight, gonna see if I can get an exchange. What is your favorite pair of Truman’s? Thx
Thanks for your video. I was looking at these, but unsure how they would look in an outfit. Your video helped tremendously in that regard. Keep up the good work.
Great review. I just ordered my first Java fresh waxed Rambler. Excited to get them. Happy Thanksgiving ❤️
I enjoy your explanation of how the boot is made and in-depth explanation of the leather. I too have these, except without the cap toe. I tried to condition these with sapphire products and changed the appearance. I still like the look, but they are no longer the same color. There is a lot more variation in the "smoke" appearance. Keep up the good work!
Been looking at the java waxed Truman boots. Enjoying your content pal 👍🏼🦉
I just received my smoke rambler boots yesterday. I tried a little RM Williams natural boot polish on the top of the boot just to see if it would change the colour. It didn’t at all, not from the moment I put it on to the moment I brushed it off. When they eventually need some attention I’ll be using the RM Williams polish. Another great video from you I always enjoy them
I really like the desert/sand color! Looks great with the laces! 👍
Awesome boots love truman!!
This colour is my new favourite. Great boot, great tannery.
Leeds United… oh that made me laugh. 😁
I use Truman boot cream on cognac rambler leather. Color looks more enriched afterwards.
Totally unique boots. I don't know that I could pull off that colorway, but I get it.
You could surprise yourself!
Almost 4,000 subscribers!
Thank you! I'm kinda surprised considering I'm a total amateur with an iPhone as well as a total nerd! But I am honoured and grateful!
Love your videos! I am compelled to correct part of your description of the construction. I have had an email conversation with Truman about this. They do not use cork or a steel shank. They use a fabric filler and a fiberglass shank. I was a bit disappointed when I first learned this, although I still love my Trumans - they are beefy and comfy - but not on par with White’s or Nick’s, if those materials are considered a standard for comparison. I believe they are currently considering switching from fabric to cork for the underfoot space created by the welt.
Good to get this confirmed. But they’re construction methods have changed (and continue changing) over the years so it’s hard to keep up
@@Bootlosophy I asked Truman about their current boot construction methods, and customer service told me today (27 Mar 2023) that they use a cork filler and fiberglass shank in ALL their current boot models. Just a heads up for future videos.
Hello, I love your boot videos. Clear and concise informative content!
I have a narrow foot and I currently own 3 pairs of iron rangers, I adore them. I want to get into Truman boots but I’m unsure of the narrow toe on the 79 last. Do you think I’d be happier with the 20 last or something different altogether with my narrow foot?
I don’t have a 20 last and a 79 fits me well. But in an unstructured toe I do feel the toe box is flatter on my toes.
Would be interested to see what you think of Trickers. Just bought a pair and I'm really impressed with their quality. Granted, the price is not the cheapest either.
I’d love a pair of Stowe boots. I have a pair of Grenson, also from Northants, but nothing like a pair of acorn Stowe’s I think
Great video! 👏🏾
Where did you get your pocket knife?
Just Amazon . “Pisau” brand
2:59 it is now
Just ordered a Martini rambler at 320 usd in the Black Friday sale.
Good buy!
Great review! Thank you! I'm curious, since it's a chunkier style boot, do you think a person with a wider foot (normally wears an E width) could stick with a D width in this boot?
I’m pretty sure you should go up in width
@@Bootlosophy Thank you! Last week I ordered a pair of their java waxed flesh boots in EE, and I've been second guessing myself about it. I appreciate your input. I think I made the right choice now.
@@craig7887 Did you get them yet and how was the fit. Teik does great reviews doesn’t he!
@@BobBafaro-ee9ck Yes, Teik is absolutely THE MAN!!! And yes I did get the Truman in Java Waxed Flesh! The fit was perfect. They're on my feet as I'm typing this. I measure a 10 with a borderline wide foot. I ordered them in 9.5 EE and that was definitely the right choice for me. I love these boots. The leather was so stiff, but the break-in didn't cause any hot spots or blisters. It was just a matter of softening the leather with use. Now the foot bed has molded to my foot and the leather is nice and supple. While these will not be my hiking boots, during the break in I wore them walking, hiking in the woods, and in casual settings and they handled each one really well. One hike was really wet and my feet stayed dry in them. Teik's other reviews got me to buy the Allen Edmond Higgins Mill in suede which is an amazingly comfortable boot. I don't agree with him that the foot bed is too soft. But hey, we can't agree on everything! ;-) And he also got me to buy the Jim Green African Ranger which as become my main boot to use for work around the house and hiking in dry conditions. I love that boot too!
You have a casual way about your delivery that inspires trust. I’m sure you’ve been successful in your consulting career given that gift. Stop making vids, it’s costing me too much money :)
Could you, please, compare size to Grant Stone Brass boots? Are they similar in size, or you would take different size or width? Thank you
I wear the same size
@@Bootlosophy thanks a lot for the response
May I know what us size you wear on viberg? I’m debating what size I need to get for Truman. Currently I wear 8.5us (7.5 on the box) on viberg 1035.
Canadian (UK) 7.5 equal to US 8.5. In Truman I take US 8.0
@@Bootlosophy Thank you so much!
I love my Truman's so much. I'm up to 3 pairs in their 79 last that just works for me. I seriously love them so much!
I can see why!
I feel that I'm heading in that direction myself....😳
How have these patina’d over time? Not sure how long you’ve had them
Less than 6 months, and in a rotation of 76 pairs, they’re worn regularly but not that hard to show patina yet.
Man. I keep going back to this video because there is really not much on this boot. It’s honestly a beautiful boot.
I have a pair of Truman’s in gingembre green leather. I love them but I don’t think even Truman knows how to care for this leather. Nor can I find any evidence that this leather has been used to make boots before.
I know! Truman’s care page basically repeats the same care (and their product) for every leather!
Ha! You're right. Truman has a section on how to care for each of their leathers. In their waxed flesh (rough out leather) section they tell you to use a specific leather protector. However when you read the specifics about that protector it says not to use it on rough out leather.
