Ok is it me… or does the X2 look better. The colors look more natural, and the skin tones look a lot better. When you look at the sky’s colors and the skin tones.. the x3 definitely has a little more info and wins with when it comes to photography.. but video wise… the x2 just looks a lot better side by side! I’m gonna have do cop the x3 and really dive in a bit more.
I have the One X2 but find the video is wonderful unless I try to zoom in (crop down). Then it pixelates rather quickly. Do the slightly larger sensors on the X3 mitigate that problem, even a bit?
They removed H265 support in X3... It's interesting to look a comparison where you enable H265 on X2 and LOG mode on the both cameras and share the footage.

I’ve seen a lots of review, but nobody talk about the life of battery ? Could you please share the battery life experience. Need to buy battery spare or last for the whole day
depends how heavy you use. for me to film a review video, it lasts a day but if you want to film a whole day of a trip, then one more spare battery may be good. but then with X3, i dont think you want to film too long of a clip, because editing can be quite burdensome. short snippets would make X3 a lot more fun camera :)
does your one rs 1 inch also have 360 module? if you have 360 module, then you dont need X3 as they do same thing :) if you dont have 360 module then you could consider getting 360 module or buying X3.

I just got an x2 a month ago, so I'm not gonna upgrade, but I'm curious about the difference in low light performance. I was a bit shocked when I see how bad the x2 was in low light.
@@Young360 like a well lit street, shopping area perhaps? I use mine to bike around Seoul at night right now, which has a lot of lighting, just barely acceptable quality with the x2 there haha
Great comparison Young 👍 The photo resolution is indeed sharper than the X2, but not by the amount one would expect of 72mp. It has the file size of 72mp, but NOT the quality. So, what's going on there? Some people are saying Insta360 is using pixel binning, where 4 pixels are used to create 1 larger pixel, to gather more light. If that's true, than the X3 is only 18mp (72:4=18) and the photo's only look better/sharper because of the larger sensor. I asked Insta360 about this, but no answer yet.

The photo resolution of the X3 indeed looks sharper then X2, maybe a bit too sharp: if you look at the top nadir in the sky you can see noise due to oversharpening. I recognize it from my experiments on my X2 photos with Topaz software as Denoise AI and Sharpen AI. When you look good the noise it is radial. It's less visible in the bottom. Maybe try a photo in a white room to compare. My 2 cents in this.
Very good comparison. X3 better every thing but color profile especially the cloud in the sky is a bit pink and making total color unnatural. Hope the Insta team will fixed it soon.

Really improved in PHOTO QUALITY, other level. In video, X2 no real improvement over X, X3 is better, a lot better definition (you can focus to the background). I would like if you can share some NIGHT or LOW LIGHT shots in your drive (raw files to compare). To me, the main issue in these cameras is low light situations where you get glitchs and dropped frames, I would like if X3 solve the previous issues.

Good reviews, unfortunately insta360 are pretty stupid as they have made the desktop software only downloadable by someone who has a camera, therefore POTENTIAL new users cannot see your uploaded files and evaluate the quality. Oh well another potential sale lost due to stupidity.
@@Young360 Yeah pretty daft insisting on a camera serial number to download the software especially as the only people going to use it are insta360 camera owners anyway, nobody else is going to have their proprietary insv files. 🤣 to me just makes it harder to attract new customers short sighted at best. BUT! I've realised a bypass as I think they are using Javascript for the link and havn't blocked the link. So all you have to do is right click on the download link and click on "save link as" at least on a PC. not certain what its called on a mac but something similar. then can download software and install. so tomorrow i will check out your files in the software, gives me an idea of what you can do with it.

What online services can process such large files in 360? Means reducing the file sizes to be able to post such large files. I know I can’t post my 360 images from my Mavic 3 on say KUULA as the are too large and these sound like even larger still. What 360 services can handle such large file formats?

*I compared this too my One Rs and although they are technically the same in terms of video option BUT the X3 in My Eyes is an All in Solution replacing the One Rs in terms of taking less items with Me. I also found that the Me Mode is An AMAZING Mode that allows me to Do the same as My One Rs, hence why I got the X3. Nice Review*
That is not slow motion. This is bullet time. There is a huge difference. Slowmotion is shooting normal 360 footage at a larger fps. Bullet time crops in and gets rid of the most important thing about 360 camera - 360 footage, so you cannot reframe anything afterwards. True slow motion at 360 only goes down 4k 60fps on new x3. While x2 could do 3k at 100fps. Therefore you can only slow down 2 times x3 and reframe and etc when with x2 you can slowdown 4 times the normal speed and reframe as well. So slowmotion on new x3 is horrible. I use 360 slowmo in almost every single one of my videos on my channel so this "upgrade" is a huge downgrade. It's kind of funny because the x3 should be capable of doing 360 at 4k at 120fps but instead we only get 60fps for no reason. Way to kill creativity and give us a downgrade. Not buying x3 until then realize what they have done and allow full 360 at 4k at 120 and 360 at 3k at 180.
Can you perform a similar style comparison in low light or at least somewhat difficult lighting. I enjoyed the comparison but a lot of the time actually differences are better spotted in low to medium light situations. Personally I’d have loved if there were some evening lighting shots. Also loved the fact that you shared video and photo samples 👍🏻. Great job.

There is a big colour different. Especially the red. Was Color plus just active on the X3 or are the colors so much more intense with the same settings? which colors are more realistic and correspond to the real colors?
I have an X2 and I can’t see much reason to upgrade. The screen I love. I might would get one as a second camera mounted on my motorcycle, but they use different batteries which I see as a miss. Another reviewer said the stitching is not as good as in X2 as the X3 is thicker. I assume they will fix that.
x3 is slightly thicker, i find that x3 stand more stably, if you ever make it stand by itself. as for stitching, i thought they were more or less the same, at least in the bright sunlight.

The problem is not about downloading, it got downloaded and there is no supported app for viewing .insv format videos, is there any mobile app we can view?
i dont know as i dont have gopro 11. if you want flat video at good resolution, gopro would be better. if you want 360 degree video that can film you and the entire surrounding then X3 is the camera to go :)

Hi Young, the colour (color!) science is quite a bit different. Obviously I don't know which is more correct but I prefer the X3.

I feel like the sky looks better from the X2, but the colors of the grass and your shirt are more vibrant from the X3.

Not able to view video as there is not supported software available, if we try to download insta 360 studio software it is asking for serial number
there is one video i uploaded which is processed

The problem is not about downloading, it got downloaded and there is no supported app for viewing .insv format videos, is there any mobile app we can view?

i dont know as i dont have gopro 11. if you want flat video at good resolution, gopro would be better. if you want 360 degree video that can film you and the entire surrounding then X3 is the camera to go :)
