A BATMAN fanatic has forged a living building original 1966 BATMOBILE replicas. Mark Racop, 50, has been obsessed with the car since childhood and spent $250,000 researching and building moulds for the recreations. He and his team of ten staff at his shop, Fiberglass Freaks, work six days every week building the cars from the original television series. Mark said: “The 1966 Batmobile was very special to me because it was such an iconic design."

That’s a whole lot of painfull work and does not pay off later in life and later you don’t love all the chemicals arthritis etc from creating cars ! I’m a mechanic and later on it starts getting to be very horrible on your body

Still 1 of the most "Iconic" cars from the 60's & into the 70's , I wish that I had the money to just buy 1 of these awesome re-creations from Barcroft as I've often wished that I could build 1 of these for myself.

I actually saw one of these today, parked. The owner was playing baseball on a field nearby. Just stunning see one of these just sitting there. I suspect had every option available. It was spotless too.
congrats on your wonderful built I was 9 back then and still love the original Batman ,, I,m a body man painter and restorer and it gives me such a great feeling to know that there is craftstmen out there like you .

Great job making such a cool car,the batmobile is such a well remembered icon from the 60s but looks at home today.
What a classic piece of artistic reproduction! I watched the very first episode all the way through the series end and still do occasionally to this day. Camp at its finest but this car is the real deal.

I remember the batomobile coming to our local car dealership, KJ Motors in Orpington in the 60's. It was one of the fiberglass versions. The place was overwhelmed with kids. The organisers just didn't know what to do. I can remember them repeatedly calling over the PA "Children please keep off the batmobile". Needless to say no one took any notice. I just loved the car. Those perfect lines and colours are burnt into the mind of every kid of that era

You can get the car, I’ll “settle” for Julie Newmar!😍 I didn’t realise back in 1966/7 here in Australia at age 5, she was probably my first crush🤭 Then I didn’t know what that was but oh boy even on the reruns & I’m in my late 50’s yep she’s still my crush. In an entirely different way. Julie would have to rate as one of the top sex sirens in history! Meow meow 😻

I saw the original Batmobile with my Father in SF at their annual car show in 66? 67?, something like that and I stood there as a kid of 10 looking at that as much as the Astin Martin used in the Goldfinger. Anyway, I build custom things too and tip my hat to the creators of this very nostalgic custom Batmobile! If I attain wealth I'll get one.
