Your theory is too much of a stretch, I think Jod was a padawan that survived the purge and turned to the pirate life to survive .He lived so long as a pirate that very little to his Jedi morals are left and all that remains are his force skills that he uses in secret.
I think the biggest strike against this theory is that you're transferring too many of the father's motivations and traits onto the son, taking away from Jod's character. Whatever Jod's issues are, they should be personal to Jod. Frankly, I'm in the camp that he's a youngling or Padawan that's an Order 66 survivor, and was around the same age as the kids when Order 66 happened. Having the Republic and one of the Jedi's own turn on the Order and kill everyone he knows would easily explain why he shuns all attachments.
@@noppornwongrassamee8941 O see what you are saying and like your theory! My theory is based on the older I get, the more I am like my father. Thanks for watching!
There’s all these complex theories about Jod, I’d like to keep it simple. From Jude laws age I think he was just a padawan who gone astray and disillusioned after order 66.
He could be the son of Qui Gon in the same book master and apprentice. Aveross brings up the time that Qui Gon violated the code in a relationship with a female. Although I believe Jude law’s character is still too young for this to be true.
Jod did say in that episode (cant remember) that he wasn't "technically" a Jedi. Everyone's guess is probably right, he probably was a very early padawon who survived order 66 and went into hiding. Just like they showed Grogu getting saved at the Jedi temple, maybe they'll show what happened with Jod in the past .....maybe.
@ I think it’s exar kun’s. He had a short saber. Duel phased as well. The saber has an emitter at both ends. I went back and slowed it down. It really does. If I could put a photo on here I would.
Love that Merida is now a bounty hunter too, the Disney Princess life must be rough, we got two princess now serving as bounty hunters (Mulan being the other) kind of funny lol
I think Jod is Dathan Palpatine who was the Emperor's clone and became Rey's father. He wasn't strong enough in the force to be used so now he is off just trying to survive and going by many different names because he is hiding who he really is. Of course at this point I think he would be too old to be Rey's father but when does this series really take place? And they could always do some re-conning to make it work anyways. Edit: Also him adventuring with these kids is what could have made him want to settle down and have a kid of his own.
Rey was born in 15 ABY - so Skeleton Crew takes place approximately 7-8 years before that. It’s definitely possible. I assume that Jod is around 45-50 years old in this series.
I get people love to theory craft but I don't think this is going to be as complicated as people think. Ja is around the same age Mando so my guess is he could very well have been a very young padawan at the fall of the Jedi or didn't get a chance at all. Also because most people are illiterate these days most people are missing the direct rip off of Treasure Island. Capt. Silvo IS Jon silver. He was always going to be the bad guy driven by greed who helps the kids stop the pirates but ultimately get beaten by the kids. The real question is who is Billy Bones the guy marooned with the treasure in the book. Who on At Attin is this character. My theory is Wims dad is the pirate, his mom could have been the concubine.
Wouldn't it be interesting if Jod was that blonde Padewan that looked to Anakin for guidance when the Clones attacked the Temple at Coruscant? They could reveal that Anakin let them go ( to the joy of the Anakin Redemptionists😃) in a moment of clarity. But after watching The Chosen One, the idol of the Padewans betray all they were raised to believe in, he drifted into a life of criminality. First as a disguise to survive then out of anger and cynical disillusionment.
Maybe a jedi Palawan taken n trained to be an inquisitor but turned to piracy once the empire fell, half torn between the teachings of the media n the sith
I was thinking more the age of kanan I still think he was a padawan during order 66 just like kanan and cal kestis he will be between the age of 40-50 my guess is 48
What me make think that Jod was a padawan or Youngling that service the order 66 It ia not the use of rhe force but How kind of distorted he explained to Wimm about detachment. When a Jedi talks about detachment it is so that feelings do not lead him to the dark side, but Jod explains it as a type of selfishness. So he was taught about Jedi detachment but was too young to understand it yet.

Not if your printing it only for yourself to use. Would only cause inflation if he was printing it on a universe wide scale and I doubt he's that dumb.
So even though you're enjoying it, you're gonna stop watching over something petty. Your loss then. Even though the sequels suck, it's not going to make me stop watching the first good star wars since Mando season 1, but you do you.
@TeamValkyrie2023 it's a kid show so I've got kids and they are kind of interested and I'm with them sort of watching but there are times I'm on my phone because the kid parts just don't hold my attention. So I would give it a 6 out of 10, but if they link it I'm out because disney destroyed something that had value and I will not support anything that diminished that value.
i dislike any theories connected to the disney sh** because its sh**, and i dislike any connections to Expanded Universe because disney are so inept they always bastardize it. Skeleton Crew is good for me because they actually went and created something new - without need to connect it to anything we know to draw in interest. Skeleton Crew gained my interest because its good and it stands on its own and its not poisoned by disney, i have a feeling that actual star wars fans created it - or at least actually competent people,. disney may have paid for it, but nobody from disney infected it with woke sh**.

Agreed wholeheartedly, it doesn't have to be complicated.
Why does everyone want to make Jod's origins more complicated than having him be a surviving padawan?
