The boxing, the masculinity issues, the irony talk, the "100% serious" joke, the 3 things that can destroy a man's life. The reason that Sam's humor is so elusive is because he's right-wing ironic. People normally associate irony with left-wing comedy, which is why when Sam uses it to deride liberals and progressives, it feels genuine to them.

    • @iminumst7827
      @iminumst7827 ปีที่แล้ว +122

      And the roles have also kind of reversed in terms of the outrage machine, because growing up it was always conservatives and religious folk complaining about comedians talking about offensive topics, and liberals (as their name would suggest) were in favor of personal liberties. But in my life-time the hardcore progressives have really adopted that morally outraged anti-comedy attitude, and liberals took over the establishment and became the new normal. This pushed right-wingers into the counter-culture position.
      As someone who is very firmly in the middle of the political spectrum, currently I feel more comfortable around right-wingers than the left-wing, because when I say something controversial in a right-wing space they argue me and then they call me stupid, and then we agree to disagree, but when I say something controversial in a left-wing space I'm just shunned, ghosted, banned, etc.

      The only problem with that strategy is you'll only beat people who are performatively ironic. There are some people who just live in this constant state of multilayered insincerity, whether they know you're playing with them or think you've bought the gag, it makes no difference to them because it's all just a joke that they and they alone are laughing at. Take some of Tom Green's sketch comedy for example - that man committed to jokes LONG past the point where everyone else had stopped laughing, because the insane shit he was saying and doing became his temporary reality. Playing it straight works, but only for people who are being ironic to win an argument or shirk responsibility. Not for people whose entire personality is irony.

    ians words says he hates sam but his editing sings a completely different toon. he made sams friends seem like paid solid quality actors not weirdos. He did an edit of sam talking shit about anisa and the way he put it together made it even funnier it was like idubbz was jabbing Anisa through sam.

    Idubbz is the worst person to make this type of documentary, the very last interview he does with hyde he himself is enveloping his own questions & conversation with his own level of irony.
    It's just uncomfortable to listen to them trying to figure eachother out, it just turns into a veil where no one understands anyone.

    First time I knew who Hyde is, was when he did that video with Nick with these actors playing their mothers and I've been a fan ever since. I don't understand why he's been supressed despite having lots of content and a following online and when people would mention him in podcasts, it would make the hosts uncomfortable - see JRE with Chris Ryan talking about the TEDTalk when Rogan obviously pretended that he didn't know who Hyde was, for an example

      Its because Sam is genuinely invested in comedy and the only thing he is truly passionate about is making people laugh and smile.
      Naturally this makes him public enemy number 1 to any "comedian" or "commentator" what have you that actually use comedy as a vehicle for their inane political views. Sam holds up a mirror and soulless terminally online talking heads don't like what they see in it.

    • @myym79
      @myym79 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steven’s official channel is meant to be very direct content that Steven is very active with while these clips of his streams usually just involve him putting something in the background and bringing up points now and then. I think he wants his official channel to have all of the things him and his editors deem as important/his own content but the rest of his streams usually just go like this where his main focus is on his games.

    I honestly think he Hyde shows his true self with iDubbz, especially right before iDubbz states he can't tell if he's serious and suggest that Hyde says "100% serious" when he is so... and you'll see Sam get pissed because he is being honest, calling the viewer iDubbz is catering to "retards" and treating them like babies. BWABY SAMMY SERIOUS. Yeah, that would be annoying.

    I think Idubbbz had a bit of a mask off moment when he stated his intention with Sam was just show him in a bad light. Sam probably knew this and decided to just troll non-stop the entire time. I kind of get it. If you know someone has bad intentions and wants to do a news piece or documentary on you, why do anything but fuck with them? Ian is just left frustrated and with little choice but to use the footage as best as he can.

    Feels like Sam was so confused why he wasnt being called out for punking him that he just kept taking it farther and farther every day. He showed none of them to idubbz. Not even the famous podcast set. Ffs. He even talks about the podcast but doesnt question where the set is at lol

      Who Sam Hyde?
      Sam donated 5k to Andrew Anglin(founder of Daily Stormer, Neo nazi "news" website). Andrew was being sued by an old Jewish lady, cause he sent his deranged anti semitic, nazi fans to harass her for you know, being Jewish, Sam Hyde donated 5k to Andrew's legal defense.
      Sam also, unironically says he believes the same exact shit Andrew believes. That "the west is falling cause black trans people wagged their fingers cause a white guy said the no no word".
      Ive seen Sam verbatim say that shit in an AMA.
      Sam can say it was a troll all he likes, but when he makes the shit jokes he makes, donates 5k to a neo nazi, and is so over the top with his racist humor that even Adult Swim was like "Yeah no, gtfo", it might be a sign that Sam is genuinely not a good person and holds some deeply bigoted beliefs that he wishes to spread.
      If you meant Ian, yeah Ian's alright, I'm disappointed in him for promoting Sam's shit channel in his video description though.

      @@Rejoice. the Daily Stormer is obviously different from a typical neo nazi website because they heavily used memes and humor to get their point across. from what ive seen from Sam, i think he donated to protect free speech, at least this was probably his justification for doing so.
      the Daily Stormer nazis didnt harass a random Jewish lady out of the blue, you know that dont you? you wouldnt intentionally try to be slimey about that, would you?
      "the west is falling cause black trans people wagged their fingers cause a white guy said the no no word" - is it so criminal for someone to hold this belief? you dont think its Orwellian to have sanctions on certain words for white people? maybe youre forgetting that Sam isnt a political science major, so hes prone to all the propaganda the right pushes out just like anyone else. doesnt make him a garbage person, necessarily
