So long story short, it doesn't matter on which side you are civilians will get screwed.. And soldiers will ruin the invaded nation, since they are human and it is human nature to dominate others and for trained killers the process is more drastic

    • @j.e.h.648
      @j.e.h.648 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

Nazi ideology is fucked up and wrong. But also vaguely clear and they didn’t view Chinese as subhumans. If the Japanese would have done that to people deemed as such the nazis would have gladly joined. Also it wasn’t the nazis who help Chinese it was some nazis. Most of them educated high ranking state officials and those quite often had the „most german“ education of humanism (quite perverted i know). But they basically thought of them selfs as good people and as their duty to help… despite aiding a system that committed equal if not worse atrocities.

The Nanjing case in the Tokyo trial began with the testimony of American missionaries Bates and Maggie.
Bates stood on the witness stand on July 29, 1945. On this day, Bates testified about the killing, rape and looting by Japanese soldiers all day long.
"For several days after the Japanese army entered the castle, the corpse of a civilian who was shot and killed was lying on the street near my house."
In the afternoon of August 15, Maggie stood on the witness stand, followed by the witness stand the next morning. Maggie also testified endlessly about the killing, rape and looting of the Japanese army.
"The acts of killing by the Japanese army were carried out everywhere. After a while, there were Chinese carcasses lying everywhere in the city of Nanjing."
These testimonies were made one after another, and in no time, a tremendous image of the Nanjing incident was created.
However, by the end of Maggie's testimony, Brooks' defense lawyer is interrogating.
"Then how many times have you seen the act of the act of illegal or murder that you just talked about?"
      Then Maggie answered.
"I witnessed only a few incidents by myself."
In addition, lawyer Brooks interrogated him.
"How many times did you experience an incident where you were thought to be a robbery, or that you yourself were robbed?"
      Maggie answered.
"I actually remember that I saw you stealing the 'Ice Box' as I said earlier."
Most of the testimonies that there were killings and looting were fictitious events or hearsay.

The most horrible thing I’ve ever seen is a famous old documentary showing the interview of some Japanese veteran who finally admitted their crimes. Some of these monsters literally SMILED and LAUGHED while recalling and describing their horrible torture methods on civilians, which included g. impalement, mutilation and much worse things I’m not going to describe (even cannibalism). Their eyes had a hollow light that seemed pure evil. But even worse, these monsters are still FREE and with a perfectly clean criminal record!
Hiroshima and Nagasaki literally made Japan look like the victim, while in reality it did much, much worse than the worst medieval tyrants and potentially killed more than Hitler or Stalin (arguable).

It's even worse that Japan never truly apologised and some Japanese even claim that the Chinese made this all up.
Edit: To clarify, I do not expect the younger generous to feel guilty or apologise for something they didn't do. The main criticism in regards to the apology is toward the older generation. The criticism toward the Japan of today is strictly about the continuous erasure of history, worship of war criminals, and gaslighting toward the nations harmed. So even if Japan has "apologised" in any capacity, it can never be a"true" apology as long as the aforementioned actions are still carried.
Also, I'm not anti-Japan and do not think Japanese people are "savages", as some of you may think in the comments. I'm part Japanese myself and I love Japan.

For those who are not aware, the Japanese soldiers were so barbaric and without a shred of humanity. That even the Nazis of all people were disgusted by them. In the Nanjing Massacre, Nazi soldiers that were deployed there ended up turning against their Japanese allies. Because they couldn't tolerate the cruelty inflicted on the Chinese people. They helped civilians escape the city and even engaged in gunfire against the Japanese. One priest who was with the Nazis hid a bunch of young girls in his wine cellar and fought Japanese soldiers who barged into his church looking for them. Because of his actions, he saved dozens of Chinese girls from being r*ped to death.

In Korea, life for Japanese-Korean kids is a living hell. The school teachers are some of the main instigators. Koreans don't seem to have a problem with making little kids suffer for the actions of their great-grandfathers, 80 years ago.
Japan has paid reparations to Korea four times, and all they do is demand more. Many Koreans have conveniently forgotten that lots of Korean men volunteered to serve in the Japanese army. They were even worse than the Japanese. In books about Japanese prison camps, Koreans are described as the worst guards, even crueler than the Japanese. Koreans also committed many massacres and r's of civilians when fighting in the Vietnam war.
The point is, no one is innocent in war. There are no angels.

My great-grandfather ignored curfew and went out to sea with some friends to fish coz the family hadn’t eaten for days and was starving. Mind you, my grandfather and his younger siblings weren’t even born then. One day, one of the friends snitched on them and the Japanese searched his house for evidence. They took him back to the interrogation camp which had a reputation of only one out of ten make it out alive because that lucky one went mad from the interrogation. Despite the lack of solid evidence, my great-grandfather prepared to executed (because Japs and their anti-Chinese sentiments, am I right). Fortunately (or unfortunately), there was a mixup and my great-grandfather managed to escape the camp. He lived out the rest of his life and passed the story onto his children and grandchildren, the story of how all the rest of the family and us (me included) nearly ceased to exist because of the goddamn Japs.

This is a story passed down from my great grandmother (she was born in China but later immigrated). She grew up in a really small village and was really close with all her cousins because they were living in the same village. She was around 13 when Japan invaded her village and her entire family was captured and all women were raped (including the youngest cousin who was only 4/5 at that time). After raping them, the Japanese allowed the eldest cousin, which happened to be my great grandma, to choose who to get killed first (this includes her parents and other relatives). And for obvious reasons, she didn't end up choosing which resulted in all of them getting shot in front of her . She was kept alive by the Japanese and became one of their 'sex dolls' before she escaped. Till her death, she resented the Japanese (which honestly is understandable given her experience with them) and died with the belief and guilt that she directly caused her family's death by not choosing who to sacrifice.
I don't hate Japanese, i just wish that they would own up to their mistake and at least apologize to their victims. That's honestly the least they can do.

      @addictiontransfer3731 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

The bombings were justified. Any historian would tell you that. Only idiot hippies with no grasp on the reality of the situation would say otherwise.
Japan had multiple soldiers stationed around asia that fought for decades after the war was over because they literally couldn't believe the newspapers and thought they were lying when they read "Japan Surrendered!" The Japanese were incredibly zealous about their empire and they were conditioned to perceive all people from other nations as less than human. After the Rape of Nanking and similar other horrific onslughts all across china, they had equal to if not worse war crimes than the NAZIs and unlike with the germans, the soldiers themselves perpetrated them, not simply the upper echelon of officers/leaders. They also had prisoner camps where they conducted horrific experiments in innocent people with diseases and surgeries just like the nazis.
The fact is all the evidence points to the likelihood of Japan surrendering being incredibly low. They would have fought to their last man, and likely only increased the number of atrocities they commited on other nations. As many people as the bombs killed, they strategically saved ten fold more by ending the war years prior to what it would have otherwise gone on for.

Filipino here. My school used to be a dumping site for corpses back in the war. It was a ditch big enough to encompass a small village and about 16 feet deep. My great-grandma(rest in peace lola) said that Filipino civilians, soldiers, and even American soldiers were dragged and thrown into the ditch and were killed via firing squad. Grandma says she remembers she saw a mother getting dragged to be killed, with a child who was about two. Both were killed and thrown on the spot. It was horrendous.
The only reason why Grandma's perception of the Japanese is better than most people of her time was because she was assisted by a Japanese soldier who didn't want to fight in the war. Despite his fellow soldiers following orders and killing civilians, he chose to secretly help grandma and her family. He gave her a katana to defend herself with. We don't know who that soldier was, but, we still have the katana to this day. If all the other soldiers acted like him, so much tragedy could've been avoided.
[Edit] To everyone who thinks I'm lying, believe what you want. I'm not here to convince everyone. I'm only here to tell a bit of family history. Things like this CAN happen. Not everyone agrees with their own government's regime. I only hope the man wasn't persecuted for doing the right thing.

My boyfriend is Japanese, and he tells me they don't even teach this stuff in some schools to the point where a large percent of people think Japan did nothing wrong. Their nationalism is very strong. This is in contrast to countries like Germany who try really hard to educate about WW2, and they even made it illegal to deny it which Japan has not done. As a Japanese, I know what our ancestors did in china and learned about it at school. Many Japanese know about war crime. However, war crime was what imperial army did and not today's people did.
Leaders at that time(like Tojo)were already excuted. After WW2,Japanese government have paid huge money for Chinese government for apologizing. So this issue was completed each other. So we don't have to apologize them more.
It is sad that Chinese propaganda is successful in this video comments 😢

I just want to say ppl today don't have to be responsible for past.
In your theory, ppl in all counties have to keep apologizeing someone for their ancestors did in past regardless of whether the problem was
      completed or not.
