I am also very sensitive to small details like that, I think getting a kill takedown for stairs would prolly cost more production wise, either that or the DEVs never even thought of it, I mean it would be good if they did it but it is, what it is.

Games like this are why I keep going back to games like cod waw, mw1 and 2 (originals) game developers put so much energy into making a stunningly beautiful looking game that they forgot their needs to be a story and some innovation

As a war veteran from 1943, I can say with confidence how realistic this is. Every time I looked at somebody, their name showed up directly in my line of sight, and faded as they walked away, just like in the game.
Remember guys, crouching and moving slowly will make it harder for enemies to spot you. And you have to be silent and sneak up behind enemies to do a takedown. I think I played this game back in 2012...it was called Far Cry 3.

I am Japanese, but through this game and CoD, I have learned that the prototype of the airborne weapon, the Type 100, is deployed in Micronesia in large numbers. There is even a possibility that Japanese weapons have been introduced into the wild as a specific alien species.

Then you get the bit that you're *supposed* to be excited about, which is some non-interactive not-a-cut-scene (it's totally a cut scene) where you character gets a wall falling on him or something and some other character monologues at him.

Menn, this is very satisfying to watch, filled with adrenaline and very immersive despite the fact that some actions in the game aren't 'realistic' like an enemy not seeing you and you are literally half a meter away from him.
Wow, it's so realistic that everytime you reload, the magazines are full, no matter how many mags you've gone through.
The original Rainbow 6 in the 90s would keep your partially used clips. Gamers wouldn’t stand for that now

I am so sick of graphics prioritizing over base gameplay. Why can't these devs go back 15 years in development and see why these games were so good.

i have the same feeling. Top graphics and effects...but that's pretty much it, the developpers seem satisfied. No ambiance, no soul, no story. The exact opposite of a game like XIII back in 2003. The graphics are good, not extraordinary, but the ambiance, the story, the soul of the game is unforgetable...
Since RDR 2, i don't recall a game that appealed to me.

Strangely i don't know any game in PS5 or the new Xbox that THE game. Like Forza, Gears of War were "THe" game. Or Uncharted 2, Metal Gear 4, etc.

It is so realistic that a black man commands a frontline platoon with all races who treat each other equally just like in 1943
Once the entire platoon of African Americans showed up in 1940 japan when US army was segregated, it was not until like 1960's into the Vietnam war do you start seeing African American soldiers on the battlefield and even in Vietnam this created issues with black men being put with southern racist units or the numerous times in Vietnam they were simply used as cannon faughter

Exactly... I want to play as the Germans. I'm sick of this fake gung-ho western propaganda. And it's sad too, because my father and two uncles fought in WW2. But knowing the truth about it creates sort of a conflict in my head. I still see them as heroes. But now I also see that they were used for all the wrong reasons. And on top of it they were forced to fight their own people in the process. On my father's side we were Scandinavian and Germanic. Some of our family still lived over there. My grandfather was actually born in Sweden and came here when he was only six or seven back in 1886. So my father along with my aunts and uncles were the first generation born here. It's really messed up to have to go to war with family or your own people. Especially once you find out that it was for all the wrong reasons.

And it never really had to happen either. It all could have been avoided. But Churchill, Stalin, and Roosevelt wanted that war. And the bankers wanted that war. All for the same reasons we have these forever wars today. It's all part of the same scheme.

You played too much COD and watched too much WW2 movies. Real war had plenty of beautiful skies and nice weather. Just because there is blood spilled doesn't make the weather worse. Comfy quarters only get dirty during combat, they get clean after because you can spread diseases which kill more than bullets, so it'd be military protocol. It takes someone who never seen war on live camera to think war is all dirt, twilight color, smoke, stenches, etc. In between combat there are plenty of clean, beautiful scenery.

Reminds me of the phenomenal game deadly dozen pacific theatre. You be had 12 men with various stats ans akills like snipers demolitions experts and had to take them on missions. If they died they were gone for good and you have to use another squad member. The jungle was full of snipers, etc.
I find this to be REALLY nostalgic: I remember I used to play this mission, once upon a time. The graphics weren't that great, but boy do I LOVE the stealth missions! But when it finally comes to the firefight, I usually use a sniper rifle and an assault rifle, the classic "offensive and defensive" tactics.
Once I reach the "hillside", the fun really began! There were some odd glitches that I accidentally triggered, one being: when crawling under the wires, I tried to free the flamethrower guy. However, I can't seem to crawl towards him. Try as I might, it's as if there's an invisible barrier between us. So? I restart to my last checkpoint, and it worked just fine afterwards.
When I had the flamethrower, I didn't hesitate to use all of the fuel on the enemies. One of them, a Bayonet Charger, ran towards me and killed me with his bayonet. Funny thing is that he was still burning due to me flaming him. He died right before the game was about to restart me to my last checkpoint.
Upon reaching the airport, I mow down everything until I reach the airstrip, where the two tanks were waiting on us. I used the tanks like what I did in the movie, "Fury": stayed behind the tank's rear, and shoot down enemies in closing distance. I died here once, during my idiotic grenade throwback from an enemy's grenade: I thought for sure I threw it back at the enemy. Instead, it hit onto the tank that I was hiding behind, and bounced to the side. Since I cooked that grenade just a bit, the grenade blew up right after I try to throw it away.
On the plane, I almost died while shooting down enemies. Nearly at the end, my screen was bleeding red. But luckily, I pulled through, and I beated the mission.
God, do I love old-war missions...!

Seeing Bougainville get its time in the spotlight is nice. My neighbor was the Platoon Sgt of a Marine Platoon while he fought on that island. He fought in Guam, Guadalcanal, Bougainville and Iwo Jima. Multiple awards of the Purple Heart. I miss him dearly. He is one of the reasons why I joined the USMC.
My grandpa was there as well. USMC - Bougainville, Guadalcanal, Peleliu and Okinawa. Still alive and about to turn 100! Tried to get some stories out of him about 15 years ago when the Pacific came out but of course was very generic about it, never any gory details for which I respect him. He can't remember stuff from last week or what he had for breakfast - but he remembers details about his time in the service like it happened just yesterday. Amazing man.
Me and buddy were both Marines in the early 2000s. His great uncle fought at Bougainville, even had his orders signed off by one Chesty Pully himself! I was just in Cairns Australia a few weeks ago and saw a memorial to those who fought there (Cairns was a FOB). The jungle environment was nasty and I’m just walking down the street, not even fighting in it. Hard men and tough times back then. Wish more people realized that.

Most unrealistic thing about all that sneaking is they would instantly see you creeping like somehow you magically can step through all that bush next to like 5 dudes without them noticing
Very true. One thing even real actual US snipers will tell you about being stealthy is that even stupid people are smart. If you look at them even hundreds of feet away, they will look in your direction. Of course I know why that is-people have souls, they can't see you physically but can sense you subconsciously. So the way stealth works isn't by the enemy not knowing you're there but the enemy not knowing where you are in time before you strike or escape. You have to assume the enemy already know you're there but stay out of sight, make them think they're paranoid, seeing ghosts etc. There is nothing more dangerous than thinking you're invisible only to have them randomly stop, turn around even while in a heated argument and spot your crawling hobbit looking ass red handed in the cookie jar.

They didn't want to do a completely cinematic trailer because people would call that out but also if the gameplay was too hard it would derail things so they probably put the hardness on baby mode or whatever.

I got out of gaming 10+ years ago... but I can see they still sell the games with cinematic cut scenes that aren't like gameplay, and they make the characters talk and think and cuss like marines in 2024. My dad was a WW2 vet and told me how things were and how people spoke and acted...it wasn't like this.

Remember in WaW when the Tropical forest actually looked like an actual Tropical forest in wartime, had the right color correction to where it wasn't too colorful and bright, gloomy, muddy, gave off an eerie spooky feeling and didn't have lighting and exaggerated colors like some Rainbow Tycoon from ROBLOX. I forgot that this CoD even existed.

If anything, tropical forests are more like Latin America. This is just swamps and palm trees. Florida type shit.
Maybe the colors on the screen are too vibrant from settings, but Tropical Forest will have their own Biodiversity within the Biomes Depending on the location they're in and what Native Species are in them, some islands in the pacific have no more than bush Roots, fallen off Foliage, palm tree's, and Bushes. My whole point is that in WoW they captured the detail they already were fighting on an Island that was getting bombarded, depleted from Human activities where you had smoke, fog, in the air Silt run off and mud from massive amounts of plant life being removed from vehicle's and manmade encampments. the Color Balance started to look more real and related to what colors i've seen in real life towards the end of the video afterall its a game, just like how WaW was a bit too vanilla the colors on Vanguard are pretty saturated. @@thelegendaryt-rex4763

There is actually one documented event of an air to air pistol kill during WW2 in 1945 when an American scout plane spotted a German Fielser Storch underneath it and the American crew blasted away with their .45s and just got lucky. You can look up the book “Last Battle” by Cornelius Ryan, the same guy who wrote “Longest Day”

Far Cry 5 is the first game I have ever played, and I enjoyed the music, scenery, and simplicity of it all, and I got hooked on first shooter games.
In this game, the Japanese army were blind. Its like playing with bots in pubg🤣. In real, no chance of survival for the main character. Love the graphic though.

The trees are static. In Far Cry 2, a game developed 16 years ago, trees and many objects are affected by any movements from the character.

WW2 depiction from new Call of Duty WW2 shooters sure is very quiet. No artillery, no bombardment, less suppressive mechine guns fire, and there is also less screaming in general. Even in a single player campaign It wasn't always like this.
