During this recording the information was not fully available. I believed the in-traffic nur times were the actual production times, my bad! But, looking at the traffic numbers, the non-aero car doesn't do too good. Maybe it was driving like a grandma! I dont think this car will be as fast as everyone thinks it'll be, but I still think that this car's performance is only incrementally better than the C7, which isn't good when looking at the budget efficiency for the C8's production.
I’m not trying to sound like a jerk I respect your opinion but I think you should wait until we actually know what we are talking about. Idk why you think the c8 isn’t very aerodynamic it looks pretty damn sleek to me, it’s not supposed to have lots of downforce in the stingray version as the stingray version of the c7,c6 etc. did not have much downforce. Those models are for daily driving so gas mileage and things like that are more important than downforce. Even the z06 in the last generations didn’t have much downforce only the zr1 did and the c8 z06 with the aero package has insane aero probably better than c7 zr1. Also transmission is amazing it’s DCT probably competes with Porsche pdk. It’s so much faster than a manual and this car is built for speed just like the new rs Porsches that don’t come in manual. I get what you’re saying about trunk space and stuff but come on, times are changing. If the c8 z06 came out of Britain or Germany with the exact same body, suspension, engine, everything it would like be $300k. This car is unreal. Again I respect your opinion haha just felt like making my point
I love these kinds of comments! It's why I made this channel. I've been scratching my head for a while on the C8 design. I've read designers talk about the real problems: the angulation you see on the car, the amount of fins you see, are not aerodynamic pieces. They're flash. The same kind of engineering blasphemy you'd see in the 90s and 2000s with the plastic fenders and such. To the human eye, it does not look the same, but in an aero tube, you can tell the difference. The biggest factor I noticed was the practice nur times between the Z07 (aero package) and the Z06 when testing on the nurburgring. Now, when the nurburgring time news came out, I looked a bit too close at the times especially that they were done in traffic apparently. But, as I said in the video, the Z07 lapped a much faster lap than the Z06, and we would have to see the results when the footage would come out. Hopefully soon! In terms of the "times are changing" aspect, it is true that we live in a different world from before. Before, 2-door hatchbacks, notchbacks, fastbacks and hardtop convertibles were very popular among the 25-35 year olds, and they did like their manuals as well. Nowadays, the average buyer's age is 52 years old, but the average age of car guy population is closer to 17 or less. And, most children who like cars have nothing but supercars to look up to. Although this is merely my opinion, I would say that the new C8 corvette was directly impacted by the fact that supercars are now what we lust after when we think of "sports cars". No longer do we want to feel the wind in the air, take a road trip in a comfortable car that we can row the gears ourselves. Now, its about blipping the next gear and passing someone in style, knowing that we sacrificed all our luggage space and our marriage budget for it. What I'm saying is, I could care less of on-paper performance, anyway most people have sluggish reaction times and never step foot on a track. I also dont really care about the mid engined craze, because any like-minded individual would know that chassis control of a supercar is pretty boring most of the time, and ends up with you in a ditch. This is all from my experience, of course everyone has their own. I just dont think I personally care for the C8 Z06 the same way I did for the C6 Z06, ZR1 and even the C7 ZR1 which I had personally seen as a mixed-bag car.
I'll get an FFR Type 65 with a built 344 coyote. Hellcats are a bit overrated esp if you track day them. But my budget is no way near that right now LOL
The key is Nurburgring time. Currently projections from 2 sources indicate sub 7 minutes.

Make more videos,I’ll subscribe
Just say its bot for you bro. Also how are we talking about Z06 lap times when the car isnt in production yet?
Rumors mostly
The Corvette is changing and like a lot of others you are not on board and that`s ok. Get a Hellcat then.
